Hillary vs Tulsi

I wish you’d bother to learn about American politics if you are going to talk about it so often. Gabbard was the Vice Chair of the DNC in 2016. She resigned in order to endorse Bernie Sanders.

Um yeah. I said that upthread. She was an up and comer in the DNC until she saw the rot of it from the inside and Hillary's connection to that rot. She resigned because of that and endorsed Bernie. Hillary has had it out for her ever since.
The ‘rot’ as in political favoritism that has always been in party politics?

Gabbard, the Brock Lesnar of the Democrat Party?

You can hear what she means by rot (her words, not mine) if you listen to her interviews.

You mean she gave up her best chance of improving the Democratic party?

You think? I'm not so sure. Had she participated in the corruption and went along with and slowly and subtly tried to change it, I'm not sure that would have had the same effect as her resigning the position, backing Bernie, and now this has had. She's got the rot taking the spotlight and we have heard calls not just from her but from many others to reform the DNC and its policies. They've already done some of that, which wouldn't have happened had nobody called them out in 2016.

CNN And Van Jones SLAM Hillary Clinton For Russia SMEAR Of Tulsi. Yes, CNN of all organizations.

Odd isn't it? They were firmly in her pocket until this. I guess even they know when these things go too far. Listen to what Van Jones had to say though, and its hard to disagree with him. She did lash out with smears and offered no basis for them while doing so (even if anything does exist to back them up; which is thin at best).

And not refuted.

Not by her while she's making the allegation, and it is an exceptionally weak case anyway. Though I suppose its better than the red scare attack against Jill Stein, which is based on nothing but a photograph of her sitting near Putin. Hillary herself has dozens of those.

How long do you figure it will be before Hillary and her comrades turn on each other with their McCarthyism? And if a Democrat president is elected, how long until the Republicans return to McCarthyism of their own? And how long until the rest of the world explodes in laughter over the hypocrisy of the US complaining about other nations interfering in their elections? That's sort of USA's schtick.

Its funny how the Democrat insiders claim they are the only ones who can beat Donald Trump, when in reality they lost to him, and may very well be the only top contenders who can lose to him.

Anxious Democratic Establishment Asks, ‘Is There Anybody Else?’

WASHINGTON — When a half-dozen Democratic donors gathered at the Whitby Hotel in Manhattan last week, the dinner began with a discussion of which presidential candidates the contributors liked. But as conversations among influential Democrats often go these days, the meeting quickly evolved into a discussion of who was not in the race — but could be lured in.

Would Hillary Clinton get in, the contributors wondered, and how about Michael R. Bloomberg, the former New York mayor? One person even mused whether Michelle Obama would consider a late entry, according to two people who attended the event, which was hosted by the progressive group American Bridge.

It’s that time of the election season for Democrats.

“Since the last debate, just anecdotally, I’ve had five or six people ask me: ‘Is there anybody else?’” said Leah Daughtry, a longtime Democrat who has run two of the party’s recent conventions.

With doubts rising about former Vice President Joseph R. Biden’s ability to finance a multistate primary campaign, persistent questions about Senator Elizabeth Warren’s viability in the general election and skepticism that Mayor Pete Buttigieg, of South Bend, Ind., can broaden his appeal beyond white voters, Democratic leaders are engaging in a familiar rite: fretting about who is in the race and longing for a white knight to enter the contest at the last minute.

It is a regular, if not quite quadrennial, tradition for a party that can be fatalistic about its prospects and recalls similar Maalox moments Democrats endured in 1992, 2004 and in the last primary, when it was Mr. Biden who nearly entered the race in October. But the mood of alarm is even more intense because of the party’s hunger to defeat President Trump and — with just over three months to go before voting starts in Iowa — their impatience with finding Mr. or Mrs. Right among the current crop of candidates.

These people have no short-term nor long-term memory. They look back fondly on the administrations of President Gore and President Kerry.

She should have stayed and openly dealt with this perceived rot and corruption. Now, as an outsider, she has much less of a chance to deal with. Backing Bernie - a nondemocrat - is an idiotic move for someone who wishes to reform the DNC.

Ms. Gabbard is from Hawaii which means she has little name recognition. HRC's accusation is probably helping her name recognition, but with only about a 1% support in the race, she is going nowhere.

So it's just a red scare, eh.

"Democrat"

According to Oxford Dictionaries, the use of Democrat rather than the adjective Democratic "is in keeping with a longstanding tradition among Republicans of dropping the –ic in order to maintain a distinction from the broader, positive associations of the adjective democratic with democracy and egalitarianism."

Your tell is showing, Jolly.

Come on now, do you know all the Canadian political parties and their preferred nomenclatures?

Staying within the DNC and trying to slowly change it from within may have been better for her career personally, but I think a very strong case can be made that doing what she did and shining a big spotlight on the corruption and rot in the DNC has already done more than she could have done from within the DNC. I agree that Tulsi has little to no chance of winning the nomination, but much like Yang and Jay Inslee (who also had/have very little chance), she brought a topic forward and has gotten more people talking about it and may push the party in the direction she wants.

I honestly can't tell if you are pulling a poe here. Or is conspiracy just on your brain? And yes, it is very much a red scare. Even if there is a shred of truth to it with Trump (still very debateable), the banging of the drum of "you must be a Russian asset" to anyone who dares challenge Hillary is very much fear mongering and smearing. First Trump, then "Moscow Mitch", then Jill Stein, and now a member of the Democratic (happy?) party in Tulsi Gabbard. Bernie is obviously next. And then who? Tell me, Ziprhead, are you or have you ever been a member of the communist party? Better dead than red, ya?

What makes you think Gabbard is so pure and free from "rot" that she would be the one to reform anything anyway?

I'm glad I live up in Canada, where you Americans just presume we are all commie socialists and there are no such games to smear us with it.
