Remember when Trump raised the tarriffs on Chinese products and said China would pay them?
As I’ve said before: Biden did not make my top 3 for the nomination because of his age and because I saw him as too moderate. Compared to the QOP candidate, there wasn’t even a choice.Biden isn't great, but what the Democrats have accomplished with a 50-50 Senate and a tight House is just short of a miracle.
Same. I was expecting a conservative codger, and I think everyone else was too, but what we got was a conservative-seeming but somehow fairly progressive codger who was apparently just Biden' his time...As I’ve said before: Biden did not make my top 3 for the nomination because of his age and because I saw him as too moderate. Given the narrow margins in Congress, I wasn’t expecting much. But like you said, what has been accomplished during just the first two years ( less than really) is miraculous. And herein lies the heretofore unrecognized genius of Joe Biden: he’s extraordinarily effective. He has a long history of working with people with whom he disagrees and getting what he needs. He presents a nice, safe and comforting face of the party but has an effective progressive staff and cabinet who has helped him move through a progressive agenda while not freaking out the party. I have no doubt he’s calling the shots.

I still don’t like that he’s as old as he is for the job. But I’m impressed.
The local case I'm thinking of was effectively a miscarriage that resulted in a live birth--the docs knew it was hopeless and left it to die, a pro-life nurse went ape. The survival limit appears to be 22 weeks (there have been a very few 21 week survivors--but AFIAK they were from IVF and thus had some growing time off the clock), and even at that point you're not doing them any favors by trying to save them. Death or severe disability are basically 100% that early on.A baby being born alive only to die screaming shortly afterward seems more likely to be the result of current Republican policies than Democrats.Since I know what this one is about I'll address it.
Some "pro-life" idiots have freaked out about doctors sitting by and doing nothing in cases where they know it's hopeless. All they could so is prolong the suffering (and that's assuming there's even suffering going on--likely the mind isn't well enough developed to perceive suffering.)
Or just decades of experience.

Serious question:"The border is secure." - Kamala Harris and Crooked Joe Biden
Thousands crossing illegally daily and the *leaders* gaslight it.
Their faithful sheep don't care how America declines, as long as they rule.
Cite your evidence. Don't even try to conflate undocumented migrants following the legal process with illegal immigrants, though. People around here have seen that disingenuous trick before."The border is secure." - Kamala Harris and Crooked Joe Biden

And this is the real problem with the Biden Administration. An 86% increase in Dad Jokes. This will leave a dark brand on his legacy.Same. From his signature. Are we placing bets as to how long it will take until he vomits out another wall of shitty memes?"No more replies will be given due to the relentless Leftist extremism, talking points, ad hominem attacks, demands to satisfy your every question which you refuse to personally investigate, and your countless denials of facts and reason. So I did personally investigate one of his claims in the global warming thread and found that it doesn’t hold water. But he hasn’t responded yet. From his signature. I reckon 16 hours.
The gish gallop over in the global warming thread would be impossible to keep up with. Especially when he wouldn’t even backup one single, simple claim he made. The man of a thousand junk memes is citing Brandolini's law?
Let's recap now: Your claim is "Trump was heavily pro oil and Biden the exact opposite. Such political climate would have to directly or indirectly greatly affect CEO decision making of the oil industry." Therefore CEO decision making of the oil industry resulted in a year-over-year increase in the Baker Hughes North America Rig Count of 60%? As the Forbes article Harry Bosch linked to states:What your article fails to mention which should be noted. Trump was heavily pro oil and Biden the exact opposite. Such political climate would have to directly or indirectly greatly affect CEO decision making of the oil industry. They are drilling more. But at the end of the day, oil companies are in the business of making money. And today is the most profitable time for them in history. They love these high prices. Although its not in their best interest for the US to go into a recession either. Anyway, here is a good article:That doesn't stop present drilling. And the oil companies are sitting on thousands of acres of land they could be drilling on but aren't.
U.S. Oil Companies Have Increased Drilling By 60% In One Year
Some have claimed that oil companies aren't increasing production in response to high oil prices. Here's what's really going on.www.forbes.com
Clearly, the notion that oil companies are just sitting on their hands [...] is false.
While of course crowing about people not backing up their claims, when their claims were challenged. The gish gallop over in the global warming thread would be impossible to keep up with. Really, Trump never had any intention to do anything but grift as hard as he could from the election. Winning opened up new avenues to him, sure, but it was never about anything but grift. And ego. Once he got a taste of actual power, ego kicked in. Terrible combination, especially combined with sociopathy that lets him exploit the weaknesses of others with no feeling of remorse at all.Or just decades of experience.

The right wing has been operating on the premise that "government is bad" for quite some time now. Reagan famously said "government is not the solution to your problems. Government IS the problem."
He said this on the first day of his government job.
Since that January day in 1981, the GOP has been dedicated to the idea that government offers nothing, and must be destroyed from within. Their incompetence is deliberate.
A co-worker of mine rails constantly against the government, and bases his opinion on his experience working at the VA and TSA for many years. Responding to one of his many rants, I asked "so instead of tearing it down, why not make it better?" That gave him pause. "What are you saying?" Well, you've identified a whole bunch of things the government is doing wrong. Have you thought about...I dunno...fixing those problems?
"Well...yeah...I guess." It had never crossed his mind that the way forward was to look at the problems and figure out a way to fix them, rather than giving up and privatizing the whole shebang.
Biden has been a government creature since people were called "Corn Pop," and that's problematic on some level, but at the same time, he knows how the system works, and can get shit done.
Trump took the Reagan thing to another level, and instead of deliberately trying to hamstring government decided that the entire "democratic republic" thing was flawed, and that the solution to our problems was...him. We went from "Out of Many, One" to "Only I Can Fix This."
This may be the only truthful claim he has made here; And the irony is that although he is absolutely correct, he genuinely doesn't see it.Brandolini's Law is expressed on this hellish forum.
