Russia has always been that bad.
Have you considered the difference between the Eastern and Western fronts of WWII? Germany was brutal and sadistic on the Eastern front, but respected the traditional rules of war on the Western Front. But there was a reason for that. That reason is because the RUSSIANS {USSR} refused to play by those traditional rules of war. The Eastern front was a horrible shitshow for the Soviets, but a horrible shitshow of their own fucking making. The Russians were/are barbaric monsters so the Germans treated them with the same level of disrespect.
Russians have been violent and barbaric imperialists dating back to the 1500's when Muscovy declared itself the "third Rome." Maybe it is just in the culture. If so, it's a toxic culture that has been brewing for centuries.

Yes, Stalin was surprised with Hitler invading USSR before finishing his war with England.
He truly thought that USSR was much stronger militarily and Hitler knew that.
In reality Hitler thought USSR was very weak. Both were wrong.

For ignorant victims of nazi propaganda. May 9 Victory Day is a holiday which celebrates USSR/Russia Victory over Nazi Germany of the 30-40s, not over victory of Nazi Europe of 2000-2020s.
Military Parade is a part of the celebration which have been conducted since the 1960s without exceptions.
May 9 and New Year are the 2 main holidays in Russia.
And tell your orange piece of shit, that we don't appreciate his stupid and false claims that USA had by far the largest contribution into defeat of Nazi Germany. USA contribution was about 10-15%.
