Ukraine gave up part of the "Ukraine" when they started harassing russian population.
So yes, I want russian part of Ukraine go back to Russia for their own sake.
Ukrainian part of Ukraine, I really don't like dealing with nazi part of them but they forced themselves on us.
I spent 2 years in russian army with western ukraine assholes (not all of them but....)
Educated western ukrainians are fine, it's "redneck" (for a lack of better word) part of them which were problematic.
And it was during USSR. After USSR dissolution nazi tendencies were free to develop by Nuland&Co.

Sanctions can not work. EU can not live without russian gas and oil.
And both India and China don't fucking care about your fucking sanctions, because US can't live without trade with China, period.
The only reason your assholes continue with this project is because they don't want collapse on their watch.
So Ukraine gets destroyed because you don't want to look weak or wrong.

About recent 180 degrees from Trump, it seems that consensus of the observers is that Trump was being sarcastic.
Basically. The Green Goblin was coached by EU assholes to lie to Trump about Kiev successes in war with Russia.

Why would we have any interest in a piece of Russia? Even if it had been someone like The Felon in charge it would have been an extremely stupid move and back then we had sane leadership, no way we would have. The problem is you do not believe that Ukraine should have been permitted to leave. You're acting like a domestic abuser who thinks they forever own their wife. And you are quite rightly terrified of the prospect because if Ukraine can escape your abuse others are going to leave, also.
That's a defensive alliance, they don't seek to destroy anyone.
Besides, your country was going to self-destruct on it's own--oppressive countries always fall behind free ones. NATOs job was simply to keep the peace until then.

I think committing troops is the wrong answer, that's asking for a direct clash between nuclear armed powers and both sides have bent over backwards to avoid such a situation due to the potential of it getting out of hand.
Weapons, though, and more liberty on using them.

? Trump was probably the most pro-Putin western politician not from Hungary that is available. He ran on stopping the war. He wants to do business with Russia. Many people from the west want to do business with Russia. From what I read, Trump got very annoyed that Putin wouldn't accept a temporary truce. But the talks really broke down when Russia threatened to attack western international peace troops. So it's over. Trump realizes that Putin doesn't want peace. So 180 turn for Trump. Probably about 3 weeks late. But at least it came. I give Trump credit for the turn but took him much longer than it took Biden to realize that Russia wants war.

You mean the spin? If he imposes meaningful sanctions and sends 10x the materiel to Ukraine, I'll believe a "turn".
He could bring an end to it real quick that way, and even if the pee tape and ever other kompromat they have was released, it would be no less harm than if Trump shot someone of fifth avenue; he wouldn't lose a vote!

Three weeks? More like 3 years to late. Trump is in love with this murderous dictator. He wants to be like this murderous dictator. The only reason Trump is finally turning, maybe, is that Putin is showing that Trump is a total fool.
There is no doubt in my mind that Trump would love to be a murderous dictator too. He wanted the national guard to shoot protesters for fuck sake.
