Putin never wanted to work with the west unless they wanted to roll over and concede whatever he wanted, like Russians do. Unfortunately for Putin, he surrounds himself with people like you who are happy to tell him how strong he is and things like, "Ukrainians hate Zelenksy. They'll throw roses at you in Kiev."

It turns out, not only does Ukraine hate Russia, but Putin hates Russians. He hates them so much he sends them off to fight on a battlefield with the orders, "Walk in that direction for 27 minutes." He hates Russians so much, he tells them, "You want Wildberries and gasoline? Fuck you. My dacha needs S-400s."

Putin thought Ukraine was like Russia and would roll over when he barked. He's had it too easy playing the bully to people like you. It gave him a false impression of the rest of the world. When the world punches back, he is unprepared but has no choice to keep punching, even though in his case, it means sending hundreds of thousands of docile Russians to their death in a foreign country for no gain.

Putin and Trump think alike. They both want to use force against a weak opponent, instead of discussion and negotiation. Now both of them are stuck like flies on fly paper. The difference is, Trump knows that no matter how much he fucks up, he can go back to Mar Lago and play golf. Putin knows that someday soon he is going to walk into a room and he is going to be carried out. The best part of it is, he'll be carried by people like you who will be looking around to see who will be the next fearless bully while saying, "I never liked Putin anyway."

Putin fucking annoys me in his by the book approach to politics.
This is his weakness. Western scum knows that and uses it against Russia.
Of course one can argue that Russia was or still is weak to ignore the book and have to be very careful with the west and NATO. I think it's a mistake. We should have followed through with all red line violation west performed.

Putin also annoys me with classical russian soviet government behavior where it treats its own population worse than foreign hostile regimes. I mean what is the fucking point of crackdown on the internet?
Fucking stupid and yes it is one thing which is very soviet about Putin.
He and the russian government is playing right into western intelligence hands when they allow banning pretty much everything.
