In an unprecedented move by DoJ, federal agents searched the home of democratic representative Ilhan Omar, searching for evidence that her citizenship was fraudulently obtained. That this was done in the three weeks prior to an election. It’s an obvious attempt to influence the outcome of the election. Probably won’t work, and indeed could backfire.

Her attorneys say that they exceeded the scope of the warrant which was narrowly tailored because of the constitutional speech and debate clause. While normally exceeding the scope of the warrant is not fatal to the evidence obtained (except that obtained by the exceeding of the scope), this case is particularly sensitive and the judge may indeed throw it all out.
The other problem is that they’re not likely to find enough evidence to strip her of her citizenship. The Trump administration investigated this in 2019 and couldn’t find anything. It’s a very high bar and it has to be unequivocal, in the words of the Supreme Court. The issue is her birth date - 1981 or 1982. If 1981, she should have gone through a different process to get her citizenship. Thus the method she used was fraudulent. Of course there are no birth records from Somalia. Both her parents are dead. So what the fuck would be the unequivocal evidence that they expect to find?
The other issue is her father may have been involved in atrocities back in Somalia. But again, where is the unequivocal evidence? What could they possibly find about that in her house?
None of this matters of course to Trump and the MAGA base. This is just another distraction from the shit that this administration has put us through.

Omar's attorneys asked the government to immediately return the congresswoman's property, and also demanded all video and audio recordings of the search be preserved.
