Pretty good advice, but I usually prefer "PB Blaster" instead of "WD40", at least when it comes to dealing with rusted parts.

And oddly enough, duct tape is now considered unsuitable for...ducts. Foil tape is the way to go.

I remember when I was a kid. We had an incinerator in our house in the basement. My dad wrapped the duct going to the chimney with duct tape. Damn near burned the house down.
