1-800-got-junk is going to be pretty busy when I go for a walk, it seems.

I don't know what goes through people's mind when it comes to their cheesy decorations. I'm good friends with an elderly couple (mostly him). The husband is a highly regarded urologist and philanthropist and his wife is, well,... she likes chickens. The entire house is filled with chicken pictures, knick knacks, calendars, towels...you name it. Outside there are chicken windmills, sculptures, flower pots, etc. Everything except actual living, breathing chickens. I said to him once, "What's up with all the chickens?" He just rolled his eyes and said its a battle he's done fighting. Happy wife, happy life and all that jazz.

I once argued with a Texan that I delivered an expert science teacher service to an are larger than the stat of Texas, and he figured I was wrong because Texas was the largest statement until I got him to map it ou in google maps. He shut up real quick. Mind you, he probably found it difficult to believe when I said I only serviced the 25 schools within that area.

I took a road trip through New England in August.

I can't believe I missed New Maineshire entirely!

There are so many columns of what would be red-state territory added.

There are people who would like to split Maine into Maine defined as north of Augusta and sent the rest back to Massachusetts.

This map does show how the problem with red states with next to no population compared to the coastal states could have been so much worse. Though it's still a problem that so few people have so much power.

I always liked basing the right to vote on that bit of trivia...

Name the original 13 colonies... Go!
Maine.
Wrong... no vote for you. Next.
Umm.. Maine?
Wrong... no vote for you. Next!
Uhh... New Hampshire.
Yes, continue.
Vermont!
Wrong... no vote for you....
