State Security Police in authoritarian regimes throughout history have always been a place for bullies to thrive and finally achieve their dreams, with the latest weaponry, a bunch of other bullies to back them up in the moment, and a regime that they know will never hold them to account for anything. On the upside, think how stupid all those principals must feel for claiming their school bullies won’t grow up to amount to anything.
Gov. JB Pritzker of Illinois blasted recent federal immigration enforcement efforts in Chicago on Sunday, and dismissed Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s assertions that the city was a “war zone” while blaming federal agents for escalating conflict.
Federal agents were “just picking up people who are brown and Black and then checking their credentials,” Mr. Pritzker said. He added: “They are the ones that are making it a war zone. They need to get out of Chicago if they’re not going to focus on the worst of the worst, which is what the president said they were going to do.”
Mr. Pritzker suggested that the Trump administration, which planned to send 300 National Guard troops to Chicago, is intentionally heightening tensions. The administration wants to “create the war zone so they can send in even more troops,” he said.
Mr. Pritzker said he had directed state agencies to investigate what happened at the apartment building, citing reports of “children who were zip tied and held, some of them nearly naked” and “elderly people being thrown into a U-Haul for three hours and detained.” Mr. Pritzker added he believed that some of the people were U.S. citizens.
“What kind of a country are we living in?” he said.
The governor also said he wanted to know more about an episode in Chicago on Saturday when a federal agent shot and wounded a motorist who, according to federal officials, had rammed and boxed-in a law enforcement vehicle.
“It’s really hard to know exactly what the facts are, and they won’t let us access the facts,” he said. “They are just putting out their propaganda.
It's certainly not the original story that they told.It appears to me that ICE is doing a lot of illegal and criminal stuff. Can't state prosecutors go after these lawless ICE agents when they do this shit?
Prosecutors are lawyers, not cops. The thugs don't show ID and are typically masked, so only the agency can theoretically be held responsible (yeah right) if laws are broken. SCOTUS will hear the case in early 2029.It appears to me that ICE is doing a lot of illegal and criminal stuff. Can't state prosecutors go after these lawless ICE agents when they do this shit?
CHICAGO (AP) — Storming an apartment complex by helicopter as families slept. Deploying chemical agents near a public school. Handcuffing a Chicago City Council member at a hospital.

Federal tactics on Portland protesters escalate, hours after judge rules against Trump
Hours after a federal judge paused the Trump administration’s plans to deploy 200 members of the Oregon National Guard to Portland on Saturday, federal law enforcement officers escalated the tactics used on protesters in the city.
Outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility, federal officers pushed crowds of protesters hundreds of yards down city streets and fired tear gas, flash-bang grenades and pepper balls without any clear signs of provocation.
...
As protesters stumbled backwards, many asked why the federal officers were taking the action. They asked if it was meant to be a provocation.
“What I saw is that they wanted us to fight,” said one protester, who called herself Rainbow. She declined to give her full name out of fear for her safety. “They just kept pushing us back and there was nowhere we could go.”
Rainbow, who has been demonstrating at the ICE facility for months, pointed to a white mark on her black pants where she said she was shot with a flash-bang.
“Tonight’s been different,” said another protester who said she has been protesting outside of the ICE building in South Portland since May. She asked to remain anonymous out of concern for her safety. “It’s a lot of gas, a lot more than in the past. And a lot more aggression. If there’s a war zone in Portland, it’s because of them.”
In granting the restraining order, Immergut noted that before Trump’s order, protests “generally did not involve violence against federal property or personnel” and “do not approach the level of disruption to federal functions.”
She (the Federal Judge) said the president’s deployment of federal troops was likely to inflame protests, as it had done in past deployments in Portland and Los Angeles.
