Immigration Issues

But using involvement in #BLM as proof she is lying is inane.
As is endorsing such “proof” or even bringing it up.
Poor Derec is bereft of sensible ideas, and is scraping the bottom of the right wing barrel for something that doesn’t give his racism away outright.
Good luck with that.

In any case, as far as Aliya Rahman, her involvement with #BLM and other so-called "social justice" causes shows that she wasn't just driving to a doctor appointment as she claimed. She was there deliberately to provoke ICE action.

This is very much their MO. Aliya Rahman is a nut.

Not sure if this has been mentioned since I've been trying to avoid some of these discussions, but....

ICE is doing all kinds of illegal, disgusting things. Anyone who denies it is stupid or very biased towards certain groups of people.

ICE and Border Patrol are increasingly detaining Native American citizens, and ignoring or refusing to treat Tribal ID cards as proof of citizenship. Just north of where ICE killed Minneapolis rights monitor Renee Nicole Good, agents have detained tribal citizens in the clearly Native neighborhood around Franklin Avenue, where the American Indian Movement was itself born to monitor police brutality. In much the same way, ICE often racially profiles immigrants who have become citizens.

Many tribal leaders are speaking out, accurately pointing out that the 1924 Indian Citizenship Act granted U.S. citizenship to Native peoples, alongside their own tribal citizenship, so ICE has absolutely zero legal basis for stopping any tribal citizen. It might be easy for non-Natives to assume that ICE is simply unaware of tribal citizens’ status, and with proper education and training they will treat Native people as equal citizens, and stop the harassment.

The problem is that ICE already knows full well that Native Americans are citizens.

Even when shown Tribal IDs and passports, many ICE agents have been dismissive or hostile. And unfortunately there’s a reason. The harassment and detention of Native Americans today is the latest episode in a long and deep history of colonizing Indigenous peoples at home and abroad.

Let’s connect the dots, to show why this trend of anti-Native harassment is no accident:

My wife was just telling me that out in South Dakota ICE is holding three Native American citizens hostage while ICE tries to get an agreement with the tribes out there for complete access to the reservations.

Newer info raises some questions on the first claim.

OTOH, I've also read that ICE frequently does not honor tribal citizenship IDs. Of course they sometimes don't honor Passports too.

Welp, it's hitting close to home now. Our security team at work sent out a message that ICE is in our operating areas here in Tempe and Mesa. A lot of our employees on the local ops team are non-white and are pretty concerned.

ICE is doing all kinds of illegal (things)

Specifically, what are you referring to? What illegal things has ICE done?
Go JAQ off elsewhere.

I don't want to hear from you until you are posting your surprise and outrage at having been detained by ICE pending deportation.

You think it can't happen to you, which makes you exactly the kind of dumb immigrant they will round up with ease.

Unless they are here illegally I don't see why they would be concerned.

The only reason they may be concerned is because of the unhinged rhetoric from rabid leftists about how ICE is "kidnapping!!!111!!!!! and DISAPPEARING!!!11!!!1 US citizens" which is of course nonsense.

Great. My 28 yr old son is half Mexican. And he lives in that area.

Bullshit.

Really? It takes a judge to tell the Trump administration/DHS this?

Judge rules feds in Minneapolis immigration operation can’t detain or tear gas peaceful protesters

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Federal officers in the Minneapolis-area participating in its largest recent U.S. immigration enforcement operation can’t detain or tear gas peaceful protesters who aren’t obstructing authorities, including when these people are observing the agents, a judge in Minnesota ruled Friday.

U.S. District Judge Kate Menendez’s ruling addresses a case filed in December on behalf of six Minnesota activists. The six are among the thousands who have been observing the activities of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol officers enforcing the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area since last month.

Worth noting that the woman shot and killed by ICE was neither "illegal" or an immigrant.

I already posted a link about how ICE is detaining Native Americans. ICE killed an innocent woman. Do we need to say her name again for you? Quite a few American citizens have been detained for days by ICE without any reason, other than they were bilingual, had darker skin or were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

https://njimmigrationhelp.com/ice-agents-outrageous-legal-actions-in-2025/

I challenge you to read the above link and give an intelligent reply.
Do you really like the idea of ICE invading someones's home without a warrant? Doesn't that sound like it should be illegal to you? How would you feel if ICE knocked down your door because they suspected you were here legally and/or thought that your IDs were phony. That's just a small example of what I'm talking about.

Didn't the guy you voted for say he was going after immigrants who were harmful criminals? Most of those who have been detained have no criminal records or have only committed minor crimes like traffic violations and petty crimes. Being here illegally is supposed to be a civil violation, not a criminal one, but how things have changed since a felon was elected president. ?

Go ahead, give me an eye roll, since you rarely respond with an intelligent reply to something you don't like or understand. Enough said!

This appears to be a dubious claim.

Renee Good lost her life in tragic but entirely avoidable circumstances.

Quite a few American citizens have been detained for days by ICE without any reason, other than they were bilingual, had darker skin or were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

A few?!! Even if true that still doesn’t match the unhinged rhetoric of Americans being rounded up or kidnapped!!!!111!!!

Renee Good lost her life in tragic but entirely avoidable circumstances.
Yup.

All she needed to do was to not exercise her rights and freedoms, as defined by the Constitution of the United States of America, and she would have been fine.

Knuckling under to tyranny and authoritarianism is the simple way to avoid being killed by the State Security Police.

It's the American WayTM. If she didn't want to be killed by the government, all she needed to do was obey. How foolish of her to imagine she lived in a free country, where the government would respect her human rights, as defined by their own founding documents, and as sworn to be upheld by officials up to and including the President.

Renee Good lost her life in tragic but entirely avoidable circumstances.
I agree. ICE had absolutely no right to run up on Good and her wife. They were not interfering with the ICE operation happening down the block at all. If they had not illegally done so Good would still be alive.
