Biden just finished swearing in and I have the greatest sense of relief.

The ceremonies have been great. Roy Blunt's comments were spot on. I even loved the prayer. And Lady Gaga's rendition of the national anthem was superbly done. I had to switch channels from MSNBC to C-Span because all the former had to talk about was who was wearing what by whom and how they thought it was simply fantastic. So, frankly, when I saw Gaga coming out the door I was thinking oy vey with the gown and glitz. But I think I've never heard a better and more inspiring performance. Nice job, and a hopeful sign for our future.

Blunt? Was he the podium wiper?

Can't wait for my communist totalitarian state.

I'm just relieved I don't have to worry about Covid-19 now. It was getting annoying having to pretend about caring about 400,000+ deaths in America.

So, any word on when the reeducation camps open up? That list of people's names I have for that is burning a hole in my pocket.

Any other things are supposed to be thinking according to the Red Hats?

President Biden's speech was so appropriate, I thought he did a great job.

Our perspectives and so our perceptions change with time. The last four years do not bring up so much fear as they once did for me. It's as if a punk entered onto the playing field and disrupted things for a while. But all the while he was just a punk, and the punk ran out of gas. We let the punk be the punk because we always knew the punk was weak and the punk couldn't last. And he didn't.

That's actually the first inauguration and swearing in I've ever watch live.

The speech was really good. Too much religion in the entire thing but at lease non-sectarian. This is the first inauguration I've ever actually watched. The religion is probably not unusual.

Indeed. I feel like I only just started breathing again after four years.

I like PBS the best for this type of thing. Great commentary when they do comment at all, no pop culture cheering and jeering.

EDIT: PBS' youtube live coverage has comments turned off and PBS is only commenting a list of all the trump crap Biden is going to correct, such as:

-Restore national security pandemics office
-Extend pause on student loan payments and interest
-Rejoin Paris Climate Agreement
-Government agency review focused on equity
-Extend federal eviction moratorium

etc. :D

I watch PBS NewsHour every evening for the unbiased coverage, and I love and respect Judy Woodruff for her professional journalism. But this past year it seems that it was increasingly difficult for her to hold back on her utter disgust for Trump's indiscretions and it seeps out in her comments now and then. She's a good person and at her age she deserves the right to express her opinions where appropriate. I've never been able to classify her as liberal or conservative, though. But like more than a few Republicans, she insists on respect for civility and basic human dignity. Something Trump views as a weakness.

Well, first things first, we have to take away their guns. Next up, force everyone except for Muslims and illegal aliens to have abortions. Then it is on to only gay people can get married. Oh, almost forgot, somewhere in there we need to get around to forcing everyone to always use gender neutral pronouns under penalty of death.

I watch the NewsHour also. There have been a couple of occasions when William Brangham has been discussing some of the insane shit that SCROTUS and his minions have done, and I thought his head might explode. He doesn't hide his contempt well.

I suppose the other reflection is we officially have stole the election from President Trump by getting more people to vote for VP Biden than Trump. Absolutely diabolical plot we had there. *bwah bwah haw!!!*

The Qs were sure this would be the day all the pedophile cannibal arrests began.

They'll just keep retconning it endlessly.

Who knew America would stoop to voting.

Excuse me? First thing we have to do is banish the word "God" from the public square. Anyone who says it should be decapitated on the spot.

Then we must shove down the throats of everybody stimulus checks of $4 trillion each ($20 trillion per married couples, since we are very traditional and favor married couples over unmarried couples and singles). Biden must have his signature and face engraved onto each of those checks, with the words "Isn't socialism awesome!?!?" written on the memo line. An AOC GIF printed nearby. Any conservative, freedom-loving (except when freedom does not grant them power), anti-socialist can have their checks forwarded by the USPS (under my leadership) to my own residence and I will be able to deposit the checks into my own accounts. Thank you all for your consideration.

One of the important etcs is restarting the peace deal with Iran. I'm confident Biden will. And Biden will learn from Obama's mistakes, and not assume that the Republicans will also support peace over nuclearization. The GOP clearly cannot be trusted that much.

Well, when we added the drive-thru lane, it was obvious.
