January 6 Hearings Live

Trump offers sympathy for those charged with Jan. 6 offenses

“Our hearts and minds are with the people being persecuted so unfairly relating to the January 6th protest concerning the Rigged Presidential Election,” Trump said. “In addition to everything else, it has proven conclusively that we are a two-tiered system of justice. In the end, however, JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL!”
A black man is pulled over and he is expected to obey, to the dotted i, any and all instructions from the officer... otherwise, the beating was his own fault.

White protestors cause Congress to have to evacuate during one of the most important moments that Congress has... and these people are the victims of a two-tiered justice system.

If it wasn’t for hypocrisy, they wouldn’t be hip at all.

The J6 rally is happening this weekend and boy have the alt-right organizers put themselves in a corner.

1) High attendance, they look like frothing anti-democracy assholes
2) Low attendance, the cause with no followers

Ultimately, while the event can look dumb for either reason, we know that way too many Americans actually buy Trump's lie. Despite the lack of any evidence. They are into it as much as Q. Regardless how ridiculous and baseless.

Sympathy, schmimpathy. If it was THAT unfair, why didn't you pardon them? Oh, yeah, because of how it would reflect on your self-centered ass.

That's not two-tiered, that's one-tracked.

6 Capitol Police officers facing discipline for Jan. 6 actions, dozens absolved - POLITICO
The Capitol Police is in the process of disciplining six officers for misconduct stemming from their behavior on Jan. 6, the department announced Saturday, revealing the results of 37 investigations into allegations that some officers acted improperly as the pro-Trump mob stormed Congress.

Three of those six officers, who the department did not identify, were flagged for "conduct unbecoming," while the others face discipline for "failure to comply with directives," "improper remarks" and "improper dissemination of information.

But the bulk of the cases were deemed unsubstantiated, including a dozen in which the department was unable to identify the officer involved in the alleged misconduct. In addition, the department announced that the U.S. attorney's office for Washington, D.C., did not find enough evidence in any of the cases to charge a crime.
Fence goes up around U.S. Capitol ahead of Saturday rally | Reuters
Workers began installing a fence around the U.S. Capitol late on Wednesday ahead of a protest scheduled for Sept. 18, and police asked the National Guard to be ready to help with security if needed.

A large group is expected at the Capitol on Saturday to protest the arrests and criminal charges against some 600 people in connection with a Jan. 6 riot by supporters of former President Donald Trump.

In the interests of protecting the taxpayers purse, I wonder if there's a way to bill the event organizers for the costs of that fence at least.

Seems like there were some fifth columnists in the Capitol Police.

Kyle Cheney on Twitter: "A 40-year friend of a Capitol Police officer reported the officer for disclosing the secure location he evacuated lawmakers to on Jan. 6. The friend believed the officer was aligned with the rioters, per USCP discipline reports obtained by McClatchy. (links)" / Twitter
The allegation stems from a conversation the officer had with a friend the week after the riot in which he allegedly revealed information about the secure location he helped evacuate lawmakers to during the riot.

The friend, who is referred to as "ANONYMOUS" in the documents, called the FBI tip line to report the conversation and expressed concerns that the agent subscribed to Trump's election conspiracy theories.

"I don't want to report a friend of forty years but he's says enough concerning statements that I feel like I need to do this... he's just fallen into this cult and these beliefs," the documents quote the anonymous friend as saying in a subsequent interview with Capitol Police.

Great minds think alike.

“On Saturday, that’s a setup,” Trump said, referring to the rally. “If people don’t show up they’ll say, ‘Oh, it’s a lack of spirit.’ And if people do show up they’ll be harassed.”

To add more info to this...

Documents that have not been revealed to the public but were seen by CNN reporter Jessica Schneider show that many USCP officers were concerned about some fellow officers' conduct during the Jan. 6 riot. One Lieutenant alleged that a high ranking officer, "who was a vocal Trump supporter, ordered his squad not to wear riot gear" and that, during the riot, "he seemed to hang back, leaning against a wall of the Capitol, while that angry mob charged the Capitol". The complainant also said that "I have serious concerns that one of the officers assigned to the Capitol Division may have assisted the insurrection attempt through passive inaction". Schneider reported that's "it's unclear what investigators concluded in that case or if the supervisory officer was disciplined." She also reported that same officer admitted to a friend that he revealed the location of the secret room lawmakers were taken to and that friend was so concerned that he called the FBI tip line.

Scores.

Woot.

There, there. I think he pardoned everyone who afforded the going rate. During the last day of his Presidency he even had a 2-for-the-price-of-1 sale.

What, do you think an entrepreneur should give away his services for free? Maybe commies like AOC think so, but the GOP is the Party of American Capitalism.

But he's in no danger of that.
Because, as he's pointed out several times, we have a two tiered justice system.

People who can afford to bribe government officials, like Trump, will have a very different "justice experience" than the rest of us.

Now, THAT would have been a sight to see. There's 600 arrested so far.
They should not have enterred into individual arrangements, multiple lawyers, varying defenses.
If they had pooled their money and gotten one 'protestor' pardoned, then how could Trump have turned down pardoning the other 599 for the same 'miscarriage of justice'? With or without Proof Of Purchase tags on their application?

His tap-dancing would have been epic.
