January 6 Hearings Live

Yesterday, Fox News was referring to Biden as "President Elect" and prominent Republicans were calling for Trump to concede. Today, however, they have updated programming where they are now saying Trump won. Fox, Graham, they're now all saying he won and Biden lost. This is the coup. I've learned the hard way to not underestimate people with no conscience to mitigate the evil they will bring about. We're dealing with this for the long haul regardless of who is in the WH in January. Things are going to be much worse than we thought over the coming months and probably years. :(

Last I checked, people like Hannity and the guy who used to wear a bow tie are not part of FOX news which declared Biden winner of election two days ago. Biden wins election https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-wins-presidency-trump-fox-news-projects

It is troubling that opinion nuts who deny results are being featured on a network on record as having declared Biden president elect. There should be some sort of disclaimer entered by FOX every time these nuts spout falsehoods.

Is this about unfair, or about the pending legal challenges?

I don't understand your question.
We were both discussing Trump's ability to cause huge and long term damage to USA interests, if he remains true to form.

The legal challenges are ridiculous on the face. State legislatures can send anybody they want to the EC. They don't really have to hold elections at all. If the Republican dominated legislature of Pennsylvania decides to send 20 votes for Biden to the EC, SCOTUS doesn't have any reason to interfere.
Tom

I'm asking if they aren't considering it settled because of all the lawsuits His Flatulence is filing.

Yes, they're garbage, but that doesn't mean it's sure the Supreme Court won't give it to him anyway.

It's got to get to the Supreme Court first. There's plenty of lower courts that can reject frivolous claims for lack of evidence.

It won't even go to SCOTUS. It doesn't take much to disturb the Electoral College, just a lack of shame. The GOP doesn't need actual fraud to claim fraud.

Trump can't win this one in the courts. Counting the vote is kind of the basis of democracy. This isn't a standard issue or when ballots arrived issue. Trump's lawyers were haggling over feet (or thirds of meters).

But what case is there to give him? SCOTUS won't throw it out because observers were 30 feet away instead of 6 feet. There are no hanging chad. The margin of victory takes care of issues regarding "true intent" of the voter on 'spoiled ballots'. Trump lost the count without "late" ballots. He has nothing in the courts.

His only path to a second term involves the implication of fraud, not actual fraud. And right now, the GOP is on the fence on usurping the clear mandate of the people, a mandate that is larger than what Trump had had in 2016.

This is how it starts. Trump fired Sec of Defense Mark Esper.

article said:
President Donald Trump announced on Twitter Monday that he has fired Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, and that Christopher Miller, who serves as director of the National Counterterrorism Center, will become acting secretary "effective immediately."
Esper had been on shaky ground with the White House for months, a rift that deepened after he said in June that he did not support using active-duty troops to quell the large-scale protests across the United States triggered by the death of George Floyd at the hands of police. Esper also said military forces should be used in a law enforcement role only as a last resort

His remarks from the Pentagon briefing room were seen by many as an effort to distance himself from Trump's threats to deploy the military to enforce order on American city streets and went over poorly at the White House, multiple people familiar with the matter said.

There is absolutely no justification for firing the Secretary of Defense at this point other than consolidation of power. Chris Miller has been the Director of the NCC since August... 2020!

Clownstick doesn't suffer decency lightly. Throwing shit around on his way out would be more like his way... Esper was probably going to be fired even if the Dotard won re-election, kind of like Sessions.

He's taking retaliation because Esper said essentially that the US military will not be used to subdue people who are exercising their rights under the first amendment and that civil authorities are perfectly capable of handling the few who become violent.

Of course we are talking about BLM protests. Had this been Trumps cultists, the same answer would have made Esper a star hero according to Trump.

Trump just goes lower and lower. It's what I feared. He's going for scorched Earth.

I'll bet Miller has indicated that he has no moral or ethical or constitutional issue with Trump using our military against US citizens.

So far, the Trump regime has filed 5 lawsuits that were tossed out of court to date. Rejecting frivolous lawsuits is what is in fact being done so far.

Two days after losing reelection, President Trump announced on Twitter that he has fired Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, whose pushback against the president over the summer led to an increasingly strained relationship.

Plus Trump's chief of staff has announced anybody in the President's service caught sending out resumes will be immediately terminated.
It must be rewarding to have chosen to work at a Back Stabber's Club...the camaraderie...

OOOOH! Someone could just go down the list of people 'in goofball's service' and call the White House as a prospective employer. "I have a resume from Joe Schmo, can you confirm he worked at the White House?"

Might get a little tricky if the person answering the phone was the person you're inquiring about... Well, just have two names available each call. If Primary answers, shift to alternate.

What is the policy on soliciting book deal offers?

It continues as the GOP expands cries of election fraud, this time, against their own.

article said:
Georgia Sen. David Perdue and Sen. Kelly Loeffler issued a joint statement Monday calling for the resignation of the secretary of state.

The two senators, both Republicans, issued the statement Monday saying Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, also a Republican, should resign.
