Moved Live Trump Trial Updates

He's in New York. He committed the crimes in New York. He is a New Yorker, where the fuck else should the trial be? West Buttocks, TX?
There are counties in NY state that are not as lopsided politically as New York County (i.e. Manhattan). Change of venue to a different county in a state is not unusual in high profile cases.
This was a political trial from the beginning. Again, Alvin Bragg doesn't want to prosecute straightforward felonies such as armed robberies as such, but is now using questionable arguments to elevate a straightforward misdemeanor to a felony, just because he is going after a political opponent.

Let me ask you think, would you find that ok if the shoe was on the other foot?

Moreover, I fear that this will make Trump more popular politically.

GUILTY! TIMES 34!!!!!

This was a political trial from the beginning.

But, you're not a Trumper, right? What's the difference?
Or are you just acknowledging that he is guilty of 34 political crimes?

Let me ask you think, would you find that ok if the shoe was on the other foot?

What would that even look like? Biden falsifying paperwork to hide his tryst with a porn star from the voters? :hysterical:
I can just see Jill's face.
But yeah, if he did that and got caught like your boy, of course that would be fine.

But, you're not a Trumper, right? What's the difference?
I am not. I fear that this blatantly political prosecution will make him more popular with the electorate. Biden is already behind in polls.
Or are you just acknowledging that he is guilty of 34 political crimes?
I am saying that Bragg only prosecuted this case because Trump is a political opponent.
Especially given how soft on real crimes (like armed robbery or subway assaults) he and his chipmunks are.

This appears to be pushing Trump's bullshit narrative that he only found guilty by people that hated him. That is an unreasonable argument. He was guilty as heck. We knew this years ago. I remember reading on Electoral-Vote.com about what specifically he did wrong and why it was wrong. The prosecution did a good job of painting the picture.

Yes, Trump has said that. But he also did what was alleged.

I haven't committed bank fraud before, can't say. But if I had, I would probably not be blaming getting convicted for such actions on the jury. Trump broke the law. Why is it that Trump always is allowed excuses for getting away with things?
Moreover, I fear that this will make Trump more popular politically.
I don't think conviction changes much. People that don't like him, still don't like him. People that like him... well, they are politically insane and think the election was stolen in 2020, so they'll still adore him. Maybe 0.001% of the Haley voters will not vote at all. But overall, it is status quo I think.

Acquittal would have been worse for the other (important) cases and a boon (at least short term) for Trump.

You'd swear RIkers was an empty building.

Fixed that for you.
If the guilt was so obvious, then why did the (very likely) conviction require deck to be stacked so heavily?
The trial could have been moved to a less obviously lopsided county.
Who gambles on this?!
Oh my sweet summer child! People gamble on all sorts of things.

Waaah waah waah, there are Trump supporters everywhere. All he needed was one

NYC the only place where people are openly gay but a closeted Republican.

Finally, we have a Merry Fitzmas.

Classic example of how to tell people you're a Trump supporter without telling people you're a Trump supporter.

Well, now that we are done, I think probably the biggest mistake Trump's team made was not making Stormy Daniels the villain. Keep the narrative tight. Trump was extorted, taken advantage of. They should have ignored most of the other witnesses. Not relevant, go for a protest acquittal. It wouldn't be an easy acquittal, but it was their best chance. And if there was conviction, provides a narrative for some of the Daniels testimony Trump's lawyers were too fucking stupid to object to.

Trump keeps saying he did nothing wrong, but that wasn't the narrative in the Courtroom. This is what happens when your lawyers suck (and are guilty of the charges).

I was trying to come here sooner to celebrate but I had calls from Dem friends and even my depressed neighbor was joyful when she heard the verdict! Happy days are here again.....at least for now.....

I also heard some of the bullshit that Trump and his cultists are saying. It's the most Orwellian type shit I've heard in my life.
