It's just another daily dose of "What the fucking fuck is going on in this election?"

From the article:

...on Friday, Pence, responding directly to the president's comments about Trump at the Democratic convention on Wednesday, told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt: "I don't think name calling has any place in public life, and I thought that was unfortunate that the president of the United States would use a term like that."

What Pence was talking about was Obama's reference to Trump as a domestic demagogue in Obama's speech the other night.

Maybe Pence is thinking Trump is going to implode soon and is trying to position himself for a 2020 run. But for now it's just weird beyond what any good fiction writer would have come up with before this latest run to the White House came along.

It's probably safe to assume that most of the people he's trying to get votes from don't know that demagogue isn't a swear word.

Kind of like the 1950 speech where someone accused his opponent of being "a known extrovert."
We also know he practiced celibacy before marriage.
He matriculated with unmarried women in college.
His sister was a thespian and his brother a homo sapiens.

That's hilarious! Trump is the biggest name caller of all time! A lot of his names are pretty clever. But how hypocritical.

You forgot to put the later twist on it that hasn't come out yet--the one that transforms the intended meaning of "public life" to be attributable to ones holding a position of public service.

Yes. Who could have imagined? A hypocrite running for President!

I think that it's another example of Pense separating himself from Trump. He's trying to be more presidential. Another example: Trump is attacking the Khan family. Pense stated on Sunday that Capt. Khan and his family are hero's and should be "cherished by every American".

The lack of self awareness this hints at is stunning.

Oh no, no, no. He is fully aware. What most of us don't realize is Trump has already declared himself rubber, and Hillary/Obama glue.
That isn't Trump, that has been the right-wing for several years now with their mirror speak. They have been continually accusing Democrats of stuff as if they are looking in a mirror and talking to themselves about what they have actually been guilty of doing.

I think it's a safe assumption that all people connected to the Trump campaign will never appear at another GOP convention.

Yeah. Those who have tied themselves to Trump have truly played the All or Nothing game. If he doesn't win, all of those people are instantly ostracized from the GOP. They'll never be able to completely wash that stink off of themselves.

But that's going to be a lot of people. Voters included.

And where will that leave the likes of Fox News? They've built their network by being the GOP's mouthpiece. But a large percentage of Trump voters don't fit the profile for the Republican party anymore. They rejected everything from a reasonable candidate in Kucinich, to the party favorite in Bush, to the religious nut job in Ted Cruz. They rejected the entire spectrum of what the GOP had to offer. So how will Fox cater to those people?

Calling Trump a demagogue isn't name calling. It's a description. Calling Elizabeth Warren "Pocahantas" is name-calling. Now, if Donald were being called "Trumplethinskin", that'd be name calling.
