MLB 2023

OMG! Seattle may still have a shot at Wild card.
Aren’t they only 1/2 game out? If so, that’s a pretty decent shot.
We're in trouble. Tonight is almost a must win game. Really like Miller. But he's a one pitch guy. He needs to develop his off speed stuff. Houston is a very good fast ball hitting team. And our bullpen is spent. Will be tough game.

Looks like they still have a shot at the division. Have to win out though.

The Mariners have changed. They don't have the old second half of the season tank anymore.

I live about 7 blocks from the stadium and can se it from the roof.

I went to a game way back just to say I've been there. It is a great stadium.

When I am watching a Seahawks home game on TV I hear the air cannon that fires for a score before I hear it on TV.

Philly seems deflated. I think they wanted another crack at the Astros. Hope they shake it off by later today!

Texas Rangers win eleven straight on the road to burn through the playoffs. My part of North Texas is going crazy.

With all do respect that was a rather forgettable series. Just saying.

Yeah, you're probably right. It wasn't quite a sweep, but a five game series shows that the teams weren't that evenly matched. The excitement around here is mostly to due with the fact that it's the team's first championship in the fifty years they've been located in North Texas, and the fact that ten or eleven years ago they lost one in a truly heartbreaking fashion.

Corey Seager was a star, I wish he was still at the Dodgers but oh well.

The right thing to do?
Some may call it pandering or white guilt.

This is a first, AFAIK. Phillies-Orioles game interrupted by a fighter jet doing aerobatics around the stadium. It was “Fleet Week” in Baltimore, with a lot of ships giving tours, and a bunch of aircraft demonstrations. An F-35 spent a good 10-15 minutes showing off, and the first couple times it went over, the umpire had to stop the game. The announcers had to talk over the roar of the engines for the rest of the inning.

Willie Mays, RIP.

Mays could do more things at the highest level than any player, ever. Always the smartest guy on the field. He won 12 gold gloves, even though the award didn’t exist until six years after he reached the majors. Could have broken Ruth’s record if not for his military service. Led the league in stolen bases multiple times. Cannon for an arm. And he was only 5’10”, 180 pounds.

He should have been on “Game of the Week” every week.

And “The Catch”:

Damn, Willie too. I hope that they can catch this serial killer of elderly Hall of Fame athletes soon.

Well, going into the all star break the Mariniers still look good. Even though they had a bad road trip.

I just don’t get it with this new rule that when a game goes into extra innings, the innings start with a runner automatically at second base. WTAF? Haven’t watched much baseball this year so just learned about that.

Saw Ohtani is on pace for potentially fastest ever 40-40, one of the most exclusive clubs in professional baseball. Currently has 39 SBs and 38 HRs. Only five have achieved this and no one has completed the task in August.

He'd be joining the likes of John Kruk, Mo Vaughn, and Johnny Bench.

...I might need to get a better fact checker.
