Family

His mother Fatima Devolder was born in Brazil to Belgian immigrants that fled the devastation of World War II Europe. His father Junior Santos also grew up in Brazil.

George’s grandparents fled Jewish persecution in Ukraine, settled in Belgium, and again fled persecution during WWII. They were able to settle in Brazil, where his mother was born. His father, who comes from Angolan roots, was also born in Brazil.

Animals

Also passionate about animals and animal welfare, George founded and ran a nonprofit 501(c)(3) called Friends of Pets United (FOPU) from 2013 - 2018, an animal rescue operation, which was able to effectively rescue 2400 dogs and 280 cats, and successfully conducted the TNR (trap neuter and release) of over 3000 cats.

After graduating, George Anthony began working at Citigroup as an associate and quickly advanced to become an associate asset manager in the real asset division of the firm. Soon after, he was offered a position at a growing Turkish-based tech hospitality firm Metglobal where he led business development efforts growing the US presence of the firm.

George Anthony was then offered an exciting opportunity with Goldman Sachs but what he thought would be the pinnacle of his career was not as fulfilling as he had anticipated. George joined LinkBridge Investors, where he quickly advanced to become one of the youngest vice presidents in the industry. George has been given multiple awards and recognitions for his achievements in the capital markets. George is currently the Regional Director of Harbor City Capital where he oversees the firm’s expansion within the private wealth side of the business.

Education

He began Horace Mann preparatory school in the Bronx, however, did not graduate from Horace Mann due to financial difficulties for his family.

It seems pretty obvious that someone with enough money to buy a congressman bought the election. There are a lot of people who could use one for nefarious purposes. By virtue of being elected, Santos gets a security clearance. He'll have inside information that wouldn't necessarily be publicly available. Given his exposure as king of the House clowns, however, his usefulness may not be all that the buyer was hoping for. Both Santos and his purchaser could be liable for criminal charges, unless, of course, the purchaser is Donald Trump.

Santos stepping away from committee assignments... for now.

U.S. Representative George Santos, who has admitted to fabricating much of his resume, told fellow Republican lawmakers on Tuesday he would not serve on committees for now, lawmakers said.

An interesting step. Either he is hoping this blows over and people stop looking into him, or the GOP wants him to "go away" while still managing to keep him vote get legislation through the House. If the GOP majority in the House stood at 25 seats, I don't think Santos would be in the House right now.

This reminds of when I saw Paula Poundstone in person. I think she was asking for a topic to speak on, and a number of people said the same dumb thing, and she noted this is the problem with people. When you give them an opportunity, that is what they do... nothing.

The only interest of his sexuality and drag status is humorous irony regarding just how hard the right is pressing on Drag Shows and homosexuality in general (for the past couple decades... forever?). It isn't about him, but his party. This guy was bought by someone, like literally and quite illegally bought, in a manner that is frightening... and we are still talking about drag?

Over the last few decades, I've gone from being bi/non- partisan voter to straight ticket Democrat voter.

A huge difference between the Reds and the Blues has become about media coverage. The Reds get upset about the existence of media coverage they don't like. Not so much about the issues or the evidence.

The Blues get upset about the issues and evidence. Not so much the existence of media coverage that they don't like.

Plenty about the Democrats that I despise, but nothing comparable to what I despise about the Republicans. One biggy being their attitude towards the fourth estate.

You know I'm always about the comedy and satire. But that video referencing Santos and a Drag program wasn't funny. It barely rose to the level of Family Guy humor.

He lied about being a Division III volleyball star... and blowing out his knees. Though I guess we can suppose how that really happened. It is like he took the words in the sentences of his life and shifted them around.

My problem with Santos is that some person self-funded Santos' campaign, won the primary and general election, saying nothing but lies. Not political lies either, I mean he told huge lies. We are talking Jon Lovitz level lies. And no one caught him on it. Now we are seeing his finance stuff being marked up with about as many red flags as his biography. None of it seen. And we still don't know who his "Uncle Howdy" is.

After admitting he embellished his personal history a bit, Representative George Santos stated that he did not die in the 9/11 attacks, as previously stated, and that he would be stepping down from the committee positions in the House of Representatives.

Pressure for Representative Santos to resign continues to increase, with nearly 8 in 10 New Yorkers in his district supporting his resignation.

In a rarely candid and honest moment, Santos stated he would only consider resigning after ensuring his financial backer received what he wanted through legislation. Then, as he was leaving the press corp, he stated he was heading elsewhere to accept an award for "best pet rescue" with his husband Ricky Martin.

The satire is wildly satirical at this point.
