Pelosi: Impeachment Is Moving Forward

That's truly bizzaro. Universal healthcare and universal higher education for those who want it is a part of democratic socialism seen in the Nordics, with very healthy market economies. You realize that healthy and educated populations make for a better society? But of course that's not what Republicans want. They wont POWER and many want to force their Christianity onto everyone. You spew nonsense left and right. It's not worth engaging with you. Bye Bye

As I said, policies that wok in a country of 10 million can not be seriously expected to work in a country of 350 million. This is a pipe dream.

Also, you realize a lot of people will end up going to college just to drink and party and fail out, right? They can keep enrolling and keep doing this for free on taxpayer's dimes. This is what you want? Give people free education and they don't appreciate it. Things are appreciated more when you have to work for them.

Blame the left. They have gotten so far out of control that they refuse to even listen to any conservatives and work with them.
Any examples of that?
It doesn't help when they claim stupid things like, "This is a somber day. It is very sad we have to impeach the President" and then they are seen smiling, laughing, cheering, and celebrating. Just be honest and admit you anted to do this all along.
As if "the left" is some unified front. It isn't. Some were somber, some were not.

I would be open to them if they were open. But when they keep pushing socialism, its's hard for us to work with them.
Define "socialism".

You really need to look at the Nordic countries. Try Finland for example.

They aren't socialist. They have a capitalist economy with a welfare state.
Just like what Bernie Sanders advocates, even if he calls it 'socialism". Right-winger are so easy to trigger with the word "socialism".
And you're expecting policies that work in a country of 10 million to work in a country of 350 million?
What difference does it make?

Also, right-wingers claim that they believe in states' rights. Each state has an average population of 7 million people, and that should be very manageable.

No, the left admits comrade Sanders is a full blown socialist. He went on vacation in Russia. He wants to have the workers to own the businesses.
Workers owning businesses? Why is that supposed to be a crime against humanity?

Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo. :p

Scaling from 10 million to 350 million is rarely a problem.

I would be open to them if they were open. But when they keep pushing socialism, its's hard for us to work with them. We all know how bad socialism is in every country where it was tried. And socialism is a transition period between capitalism and communism so it wouldn't be long before we inevitably move to communism, which has a death toll about 20 times more than Nazism.

But, the left is too uneducated. They think capitalism is evil instead. Like Ben Shapiro said, "Just because the left is coming up with radical new ideas doesn't mean they are good ideas."

This is what I mean by education. Look up Mao's China, Pol Pot's Cambodia, Stalin's Russia to see just how well the people live under socialism/communism. Over 110 million deaths. Nazism? About 6 million dead. Yet, everyone tells us to be afraid of Nazism. Propaganda, no education.

U S E Y O U R M I N D S ! ! ! !

zzzzzzz.

are you calling Zelensky a liar? He has stated on more than one occasion that the phone call used as one impeachment charge never happened the way Pelosi and Co claim. Isn't it more likely that the hireachy of the Dems has seen the line up of clowns seeking nomination and came to a conclusion that none of them, especially the front runner Biden has a hope in hell of beating the Trump in 2020, and that this witchunt is the only way, or so they think, of defeating him?

The beliefe being that if they throw enough mud some is bound to stick. Many commentators are now stating that this will only aid the Trump in winning a second term, which may lead to some posters on this very forum to commit hari kari.

Remember that Clinton went on to win a second term after being impeached also.

It's becoming more and more and more obvious why the senate republicans don't want this mess aired out and why they don't want to have any witnesses testify. I'm sure they'll excuse Shithead for the crime but they don't want the information actually out there that Shithead is a criminal and that they're okay with it. They just want their coverup to continue and for this shit to go away.

I'd say the pugs are losing the tug of war at this point and so want the contest dropped.

The pugs are far from losing according to these polls.

Pelosi is not sending the impeachment to the Senate. That presents an interesting case, rather unprecedented.

Once upon a time I was in court fighting a traffic ticket - a hopeless endeavor, I know. Well, this one day I got lucky, and the ticketing officer didn't show. So, with much disappointment, the judge dismissed for failure to prosecute.

I wonder if there is anything in that which might benefit Trump and McConnell.

Might be. There's a bunch of rules that presently give Pelosi the upper hand. Can't blame her for giving it the college try, there's a lot of unwritten rules here but one is that the Senate proceeds after the House names managers, which it hasn't yet because they want a fair and honest trial with witnesses. But Mitch and company want nothing of the kind. So it's presently a Mexican Standoff.

She wants a trial with witnesses. McConnell doesn't want that. Here's the thing though ... I suspect Trump does want that.

For all her talk about an unfair trial, she knows she won't get a victory no matter what kind of trial she gets. This impeachment is partisan, the result will be partisan. She might as well hold out until she gets a guarantee of removal from office.

To me impeachment of Trump is simply holding evil accountable. The two articles of impeachment are just two issues that have gained traction. Hundreds of other Trump crimes could also be an article of impeachment.

To the extent that McConnell refuses to hold evil accountable he demonstrates the evil within himself and the Repugs who stand with him.

I say add more articles, let the defenders of evil show themselves to the world as defenders of evil and let it drag on.

She's not sending anything to the Senate knowing she can't win. Besides, the whole exercise of this witchunt is keep it going as long as possible. Right up to November 2020 if possible.

Yep, it's a total witch hunt. That's why Trump keeps blocking witnesses from testifying. He has nothing at all to hide. NOTHING AT ALL! OH MY GOD BECKY! SHUT UP ABOUT THE WITNESSES! THERE IS NOTHING TO HIDE HERE!

:D

These impeachment proceedings were [ or would have, had they had the numbers in Congress] started the day Killery lost the election they thought was just a formality!

Then Trump was pretty fucking stupid colouring outside the lines like he did from day one then isn't he?

The republican tactic is to dodge facts. Their strategy is to scream witch hunt. That's it, not at all complicated, and it satisfies their base.

Pelosi is an intelligent person and recognizes that she has the facts on her side. She's thinking way ahead of what's going to happen in the Senate, she's thinking years down the road. There are probably a few Republicans that recognize what she's doing and it scares the shit out of them.
