Police response to N.J. mall fight sparks outrage after Black teen cuffed as white teen watches

In this case, it was a strong woman who came to the aid of her fellow officer, not the other way around. I'm not sure why you failed to notice or feel compelled to point out that men can sometimes carry people out of burning buildings when sometimes women are not able to do so. I'm sorry that you are upset that female firefighters exist in Australia and elsewhere in the world.
You are, as usual, wrong. I am not upset about the existence of female firefighters. I am upset that standards have been lowered and men with more aptitude have been passed over in favour of women with less aptitude.
What do you mean by aptitude?

Yet the woman was the one here who showed the aptitude of at least demonstrating that she was physically capable of showing respect.
I don't know what that sentence means. Try harder.
It's English is such that a seventh grader of average English aptitude would be able to parse it.
Well, laughing dog liked your post so you must be right!
It’s a little unbelievable that you don’t understand the sentence Jarhyn wrote.

What do you mean by aptitude?
I mean, they evaluate firefighters on their fire handling knowledge as well as their practical, physical skills in responding to a fire, and women who have lower aptitude (their total score, as evaluated by knowledge and physical skill is lower) are let in over men with higher aptitude, because of insane feminist ideological capture that demands equity in firefighting roles.

This insane feminist ideological capture manifests in different ways, depending on how easily captured departments can obscure their practices to a public that would not support it, or a legal environment that would not support it. For example, it could be lowering of physical standards so that more women make the cutoff point. It can be re-weighting or dropping of certain physical tasks so that more women make the cutoff point. It could be re-weighting components that women do better at, not because the re-weighting reflects the best assessment of a firefighter but solely because more women will qualify.

And when all of that doesn't work, they simply take the top n, by sex, from the applicant pool.

Well, you may not believe it, but since I am the one who is supposed to understand it and I don't, I'm afraid I have the final and definitive say in whether I understand it.

I don't understand what he wrote and if he wants me to respond to it he will have to make the sentence clearer.

I expect I explained it even as one would have to to a middleschool child and still you did not understand it. I will not explain it further. Always odd, these hills you find yourself upon.

So you don’t believe women are as capable of gaining or comprehending the body of knowledge requisite to being a firefighter as men?

I’ve head the expression “he thinks with his Dick” but I’ve never given it credence in terms of a penis (or testicles) conferring greater intelligence ir special talents for understanding the body of knowledge requisite to becoming…well, anything, really. But let’s stick with firefighter. Can you explain that to me?

Oh, and just to make your head explode, I should mention: when my oldest son was small, occasionally we visited the firehouse near where we lived. The firefighters used to let him try on their helmets or sit in a firetruck—very exciting for a 3 year old! And once or twice firefighters went to great lengths to explain to me that I could also be a firefighter if I wanted.

It beggars belief you read anything I say, ever. Where have I said or implied the above?

No, I can't explain your own fantasia to you.

Okay?

Do you have something relevant to say about my explanation of what is happening in Australian fire departments?

Sexist attitudes can be costly to the wallet, it appears.
“U.S. women soccer stars, including Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan, have reached a $24 million settlement with the U.S. Soccer Federation following a lawsuit over unequal pay with men’s team players.”

I don't understand.
Sports stars are complaining that they don't get paid enough?

Given the level of media interest in U.S. Soccer, much less women's soccer, is $24M more than the U.S. Women's Soccer League is worth? Did Ms. Rapinoe and Ms. Morgan just end the League? Add in all the other expenses and I don't see why anybody would bother fielding another team.

I don’t understand why you insist that women cannot be competent firefighters.

I understand that you seem to believe we are frail things easily intimidated by skinny 16 year old boys but do you really think that women are unable to master the body of knowledge essential to firefighting?

Yet the woman was the one here who showed the aptitude of at least demonstrating that she was physically capable of showing respect.

Actually, it is not. But it is also not a loss that there is no response.

In my view, the facts are clear - the dark-skinned child was cuffed and taken away, the light-skinned child was not. It doesn't matter which officer did what, since both were on the scene and they could (and should) have treated the suspects the same. The issue is that both officers did not treat in that basic and relevant aspect those suspects in the same fashion is the issue.

Pedantic quibbling about what "arrest" means, whining about alleged biases of posters, evading coming up with alternative explanations to racism, or whether women police officers/firefighters can do their job is interesting but a tactic (conscious or not) to avoid the topic of racism/bigotry. The facts are consistent with the racism/bigotry hypothesis. As far as I can tell, and I may be wrong, but the usual suspects have yet to come up with an alternative reasonable explanation for the disparate treatment that does not involve racism/bigotry.

I don't understand how you can possibly put forward such a falsehood about my beliefs.

I understand that you seem to believe we are frail things easily intimidated by skinny 16 year old boys
LOL, Franco was not 'skinny'.

However, I believe most adult women would be at the physical mercy of most 16 year old boys if those boys chose aggression, yes, and I think it is dangerous and delusional (and gaslighting women) for you to assert otherwise.

but do you really think that women are unable to master the body of knowledge essential to firefighting?
I did not say it and don't believe it.

Stop promulgating falsehoods about my beliefs.

You’re the one who introduced the subject of women being unfit to be firefighters.

And you insist that most women can’t handle a 16 year old boy. I have no idea why you believe this. I’ve been doing it since I was younger than 16.

Okay Xena.

You are the one who, inexplicably inserterted your feeders about female firefighters into this conversation.

I think you are vastly overrating the musculature of most 16 year old boys.

You are the one who, inexplicably inserterted your feeders about female firefighters into this conversation.
Do you mean feelings?

I have been talking about the sex of the officers from the start of the thread. I, however, have not expressed the views you have falsely claimed are my views, you have not acknowledged you made false claims, and you have not apologised for making false claims about my views, and I am certain you will not apologise.

I think you've never been a student at an all boys school and, apparently, you've also never seen human beings before.

I made no claims about the musculature of 16 year old boys. You'll also find---pay attention---I made no claims about their penises either. I say this (in an attempt) to pre-empt any further falsehoods and fantasias that you are bound to devise when I talk about males versus females.

This is not the thread for it, but if you are making a claim that most women would be in a good position to take on 16 year old boys in a physical altercation, then I find your claim to be delusional and dangerous and gaslighting and false. In fact, I would find the claim to be delusional and dangerous and gaslighting and false if you said it of 14 year old boys, let alone 16 year olds.

I remember you bringing this up near the beginning of the thread. The premise that the female cop was intimidated by the white kid. That that's why she behaved as she did.
It seemed implausible to me from the beginning, before I'd seen the video. Having now seen the video your premise is kinda ridiculous. Whatever was happening there, she wasn't intimidated by that kid.

We have obviously had different life experiences.
