The easiest way to "change" the constitution is to have a supreme court who is willing to change how it's interpreted.

Through the 2nd half of the 20th century we generally had a supreme court who interpreted it as to expand personal liberties vs the government. Now that the supreme court is basically a right wing beast, they could, against the plain language, could actually agree with Trump on this because that's what they want it to say.

But that doesn't change the absolute fact that Trump is way out of line to suggest that he can change constitutional interpretation.

Trump needs impeachment now. He is such a danger to democracy and plain old civil life. The man want to be a dictator.

I am very fond of every Russian I have ever met in the US. Most of them seem to have an "oh well..." attitude toward Putin's autocratic government, which is understandable given their history of Czars, bloody revolutions etc.
If a few million pregnant Russian women came to the US to give birth, I would definitely welcome it. If such a possibility were in the offing, INDIVIDUAL-1 would certainly not be blathering about personally overriding the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.

Who cares if it's unequivocal? The SC has the final say on what's meant in the Constitution and if they decide that it's actually equivocal for the sake of partisan political purposes, then it's officially equivocal and can mean the exact opposite of what the words say.

That's why everyone was going on about how Supreme Court appointments are important during the last election. It's because they're important.
