Prices are so bad (except when they’re not)

I agree that we need to do more to help poor people obtain basic nutrition and it wouldn't be a bad idea to teach people, including school students how to cook inexpensive, nutritious meals, like for example black beans and rice, as well as buying produce that is in season etc.

Schools are busy teaching kids the important things in life. Things like men can give birth and critical race theory.
How can you possibly be that misinformed?

You are so full of b.s.
When I was in high school, riding dinosaurs to school, two required classes were home ec and shop. Girls were required to take home ec, boys required to take shop.
My own mom had six slaves, (I mean children) I was already a decent cook and I knew well how to clean a bathroom and vacuum. I was in college before I realized that those should have been reversed. How many guys, with IQ over 125, couldn't make scrambled eggs by themselves or make a sensible budget.

I have two kids in school now, in California no less, and I can tell you that they are not being taught this.

If there even are any schools teaching this anywhere I am doubtful that they are “busy” doing so.

I wonder why schools in California are required to have tampon dispensing machines in boys restrooms. Maybe the schools should stop obsessing over these things and mandate the students be capable of boiling an egg or something.

If I were to choose who was obsessing over this, it wouldn't be the schools. Personally, I have no idea what can be found in the bathrooms of a boys or girls bathroom at my daughter's school. I'm not a pervert.

Apparently you were pragmatic about CRT though, as you didn't defend your baseless claim that it is taught in schools.

ETA: WTF?! This is the Prices are too high thread?! Yeah, if one was to think about who is or isn't obsessing...

So just another untrue claim by extremists trying create outrage over nothing?

They’re so emotional, aren’t they?

It is funny because we've received a couple messages the last couple of days regarding alleged threats made on the school district, so far zero in the past five years on what is or isn't available in the bathroom.

Well, it's obvious that you don't live in Georgia, where a teacher got fired for reading a book, which I think was called," My Shadow is Purple". She lost her job over reading a children's book because a couple of parents, probably "Moms for Liberty" complained.

Yes. We must protect children from the truth because promoting prejudice and ignorance is such a good thing. /s

You mean Moms For Labia?

Do they?
Or are you stressing about fake dumbassery you heard about on your favorite faux news?

I'm not saying it's impossible. What I'm saying is that it's utterly irrelevant and unimportant. Probably didn't happen.

Probably you making up partisan Teapartiers stuff.

Teaching children the LGBTQWERTY++ cult that men menstruate and get pregnant is a bit silly. Teaching children how to prepare a meal or mend a pair of socks may be of more use in the real world considering inflation rates these days.

Gala apples now $1.99 per pound. Used to ne $.99. Grapefruit juice used to be $2.86 now its $4.36.

Jeezus no wonder so many people home school or go private.

Perhaps because they recognize that trans teenagers do exist and they feel an obligation to help support these people. The law says only one boys bathroom required. If a boy goes to a bathroom and does not require a tampon he can just simply not take one.

Maybe the schools should stop obsessing over these things and mandate the students be capable of boiling an egg or something.

This was a law passed by the legislature so the schools are complying with the law, not necessarily “obsessing” over it.

At least this one is real and not like the litter box scare.

A new law for California goes into effect where department stores have to have a gender neutral display for kids clothes and toys, failure to comply will result in a fine.

Not obsessed at all.

you had accused the schools of being obsessed. I was pointing out that they were complying with the law.

You can accuse the legislature of being “obsessed”.

how many children have you tried to buy clothes and toys for? Perhaps it shouldn’t rise to the level of an enforceable law but it surely would be good to have other options than the “pink” and “blue” aisles we have now, a ridiculous end product of rampant commercialism.

Not every girl wants to buy a doll and when they want something else they shouldn’t have to feel like they are not a girl for wanting something else.

If anything, this should lessen a need for kids to question their gender because they may not fit into some prescribed version of gender stereotype.

They are all obsessed with it, it's a religion. Drag queen story time ffs.

I believe it should be up to the manufacturer and retailer to decide how to arrange their products and not gender obsessed cultists.

Nor should they be immediately dropped off at some gender mutilation clinic to have the correct gender affirmed by Dr Mengele.

I don’t know where the drag queen story hours are happening but they aren’t in my area. I’ve only ever heard of it from right wing pundits. I have no idea how popular they are.

It does stretch the bounds of regulation of capitalism a bit, so it’s a fair critique in my opinion.
