Quack Quack Quack Kennedy

During a few of the years that I administered vaccines while working as a home health nurse, not a single patient had a side effect from any of the vaccines, other than a mildly sore arm for a few days.
Yeah? I got a shingles vaccination yesterday and my arm feels like it might fall off. 😕
Well, my shingles vaccines barely made my arm sore. Maybe women are just tougher than men. :p

Regardless, a sore arm is far less painful than a case of shingles, actually known as herpes zoster. I've cared for a few people who had active cases. It usually causes severe pain, which sometimes remains after the rash clears up. So, be sure and get your second dosage if the one you had was just the first dosage. I would hate for any of my IIDB peers to suffer from shingles.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the health and human services secretary, outlined a strategy for containing the measles outbreak in West Texas that strayed far from mainstream science, relying heavily on fringe theories about prevention and treatments.

Quack

He suggested that measles vaccine injuries were more common than known, contrary to extensive research.

Quack

He asserted that natural immunity to measles, gained through infection, somehow also protected against cancer and heart disease, a claim not supported by research.

QUACK QUACK!!

He cheered on questionable treatments like cod liver oil, and said that local doctors had achieved “almost miraculous and instantaneous” recoveries with steroids or antibiotics.

Dangerous DUCK!

He said he’d been told that a dozen Mennonite children had been injured by vaccines in Gaines County. People in the community wanted federal health workers arriving in Texas “to also look at our vaccine-injured kids and look them in the eye,” Mr. Kennedy said.

I call Bullshit on this Quack. MMR has been used for decades and has been shown to be very safe.

Mr. Kennedy asserted otherwise: “We don’t know what the risk profile is for these products. (MMR) We need to restore government trust. And we’re going to do that by telling the truth, and by doing rigorous science to understand both safety and efficacy issues.”

He's fucking crazy! He's a fucking QUACK

“It’s very, very difficult for measles to kill a healthy person,” he said, adding later that “we see a correlation between people who get hurt by measles and people who don’t have good nutrition or who don’t have a good exercise regimen.”

QUACKERY QUACK QUACK QUACKERY!

Kennedy spoke enthusiastically about unproven treatments for measles, and said the H.H.S. would study them.

Mr. Kennedy said the Department of Health and Human Services would conduct clinical trials on several unproven treatments for measles, including a steroid, budesonide; an antibiotic called clarithromycin; and cod liver oil, which he said was “the safest application of vitamin A.”

Mr. Kennedy said he had heard from two local doctors that these treatments had led to “miraculous and instantaneous recovery.”

QUACK QUACK QUACK

Dr. Schaffner said that antibiotics, which fight bacterial infections, are not effective treatments for measles, a virus. And he was unaware of any evidence that showed that steroids improved outcomes for children with measles.

The QUACK should know that antibiotics don't fight viruses but he's a fucking QUACK!!

Mr. Kennedy’s focus on unverified treatments has frustrated some doctors in Gaines County, who have been trying to explain to patients that there is no antiviral for measles and that they have little control over which patients suffer serious symptoms.

“We already are dealing with people that think measles is not a big deal,” said Dr. Leila Myrick, a family medicine doctor in Seminole, Texas, who has been caring for patients with measles for several weeks.

“Now they’re going to think they can get this miracle treatment and that they definitely don’t need to get vaccinated. It’s a 100 percent going to make it harder.”

The QUACK is dangerous! Kennedy is going to get people killed.

Gifted story on NYT
How would you reduce autism and obesity? How would you increase average lifespans for the average American? How would you reduce medical costs but deliver better health? These are serious issues the medical establishment is failing by any standard.

Is RFK reaaly a quack or are we being duped again by more propaganda? I dont know but maybe we should let the quacks give it a try for 4 years to see if anything gets better. Trying something different is actually a scientific approach to discovery. Because our healthcare can't get any worse than it already is today.
Reading and listening to Kennedy Jr. has informed my opinion that he is a dangerous quack without an MD and either no working knowledge of vaccines and immunology or the willingness and desire to ignore all actually established medical fact, and supporting data, You know: evidence. I won’t attempt to guess his motivations and I refuse to attribute it merely to a literal brain worm but I do not think it is a coincidence that there is a lot of anti-vaccine propaganda originating in Russia.

Before you accuse me of falling for propaganda, please be informed that I hold a degree in cellular and molecular biology, which included work in immunology, and I spent a lot of time working for a large medical reference laboratory, I know my shit. Kennedy does not.

Well, YOU are. My arm still hurts. Next time I’m going swimming immediately after; maybe that will help.
I rotate my arm through the entire range of motion repeatedly through about 15 minutes. It seems to work everything back together and into the muscle, and I think that's how the body moves interstitial fluid to the nodes anyway, though action like that.

Then, I'm a redhead, and some of us are just built different.

I never pictured you as a redhead! This will be an adjustment.

I'm just shy of 6 feet. If I tighten my belly, I've got a nice set of abs going under a healthy but smallish layer of cutaneous fat.

I have long hair and a full beard.

Usually, I try to wear a hat and sleeves, and a leather duster coat when the weather calls for it.

And a nice stick.

Edit: people also have said I look like a red headed Jesus.

Hey, you're gonna have to send me a pic. My son has a beard. He's going to be 28 soon. It's one of those ZZTOP beards. I don't know how old you are but we're talking, l o n g beard.😄

I worked in public health for 20 years and here is my trick for shots....most people get the shot in their "non dominant" arm (right handed people get it in the left arm). Get it in your dominant arm. The constant movement helps to reduce the pain.

This could possibly be a candidate for a manifestation of the 'remembering self vs the experiencing self' by Kahnemann.

Interesting. I always get it in my non dominant arm and it's never caused me more than mild discomfort. When I gave vaccines as a public health nurse, I don't remember which arm people preferred. I also don't remember anyone complaining about the injections. I do recall a medical assistant giving me an injection, who obviously didn't know what she was doing. It was a long time ago and I think it was an IM injection but she didn't get close to the muscle and it hurt more than most injections.

Most people preferred their non dominant arm. I never had issues with shots, but one of our nurses suggested I take it in my dominant arm and I have had zero negative effects with it. It just made sense to me when I thought about it - the thing that blew my mind was the number of men who would pass out when they had to get a shot or have a blood draw.

We HAVE done the rigorous science and know the risk profiles, before it gets released to the public.
If we can trust Kennedy to NOT release his 'alternative' cures till after he does the science, things might not get too bad.
Maybe some exposure to REAL doctors and scientists will improve him.
Brain worms.
He is taking cod liver oil for that. (is that still around?)

YUCK. My mother was a believer in cod liver oil. She put it in carrot juice to 'disguise' the taste (didn't work). Got a juicer to grind our own. I can't stand raw carrots now.

Maybe the quacks will die-off.
Back in the 80s, parents couldn't wait to get their kids vaccinated.
I remember in the early '60s, after the introduction of the oral Polio vaccine, our whole town lining up at the High School gym to feed us kids a sugar cube. Maybe that's why I'm addicted to sugar today.

Maybe it wasn't a vaccine. It was a drug developed by 'big sugar' designed to addict us to sugar, posing as a vaccine.
I have long hair and a full beard.

YEAH. Shout out to long hair and beards. (I sprout one too)

I've read that a lot of fools are taking JFKjr.s advice seriously. WTF man! This is insane. Children are needlessly getting sick and in some cases dying because of this disgusting idiot.

Btw, I was cleaning out my bedside table to prepare for our move next month and I found a vaccination card that my mom had saved. It had my smallpox and polio vaccines with the dats on it. Not sure if it had the other ones I had as an infant. I had measles as a child since the vaccine wasn't developed yet. It was horrible, high fever and itchy spots for over a week.

My son luckily was born after the measles vaccine was developed. Mr. Sohy couldn't remember if he had the measles or not, so he got his first MMR vaccine a few weeks ago and will get the second one next week. I probably should tell my son to get the second one too if he hasn't already done that, since it's now recommended to get two instead of just one, if you've never had the measles. I had an MMR vaccine about 20 or so years ago because I've never had the mumps and really don't want to get the mumps.

If we can trust Kennedy to NOT release his 'alternative' cures till after he does the science, things might not get too bad.
Can we sue him for giving bad advice?
I think he should be tried for involuntary manslaughter when anyone dies of measles because they took his stupid advice.

Sure but probably won't go anywhere if you're not a rich person.
I assume that ITRW it would take a well-backed class action to get it to court. Trying to make the quack personally liable is probably impossible; it would be suing the government.
