As Jon Oliver recently put it, someone who agrees to buy cocaine but ends up buying a bag of sugar is still guilty of committing the crime. Not being able to consummate the drug purchase does not absolve that person of the crime.

Or as Chris Hansen would put it "have a seat." The fact that you didn't actually have sex with the 14 year old girl is irrelevant. So is the fact that you weren't chatting with a 14 year old girl, but were instead trading sexual messages with a 32 year old police officer. No, what matters is that you showed up to the house with a 4-pack of wine coolers and a condom in your wallet hoping to get busy with an adolescent. The show is called "To Catch a Predator" for a reason.

Meanwhile in "The shit doesn't stop coming out":
article said:
President Trump’s legal team was informed more than three weeks ago about the email chain arranging a June 2016 meeting between his son Donald Jr. and a Kremlin-connected lawyer, two sources familiar with the handling of the matter told Yahoo News.

...

But the sources told Yahoo News that Marc Kasowitz, the president’s chief lawyer in the Russia investigation, and Alan Garten, executive vice president and chief legal officer of the Trump Organization, were both informed about the emails in the third week of June, after they were discovered by lawyers for Kushner, who is now a senior White House official.

...

Pushing back the discovery of the emails to the third week in June also raises additional questions about the initial public statements made by the White House after the existence of the meeting was first reported by the New York Times on July 8. At that time, Trump Jr. issued a public statement describing the session as a “short introductory meeting” in which the primary topic of discussion was “the adoption of Russian children” by American families. The actual purpose of the meeting, to obtain damaging information about Hillary Clinton ostensibly collected by the Russian government, wasn’t mentioned in Trump’s initial statement.

There are just so many problems with this, starting with "They had over 3 weeks to come up with a cohesive story... and they didn't. We are being led by the dumbest White House ever."

Then it goes to "Why hasn't Kuschner not lost his security clearance yet? How many times do you get to forget about meetings involving foreign obtained stolen emails?"

Then it goes to "Wait... how was this even found in the first place?" Wait... Kuschner never deleted it?! This puts a notch under the 'what a fucking moron' category. He should lose his clearance just for being that fucking dumb!

And you know, I have no idea why I didn't notice it yet... has anyone else? Kuschner and Manafort didn't know what the meeting was about. Yet, FFvC Jr forwarded them the entire email chain, which included everything from the conversation.

And the Sr. Orange Stain said he learned about it only a few days ago.

You still don't get it. Doesn't matter if a deal was consummated. There is already an admission that such a deal was intended and a meeting held. That's collusion.
Exactly right. All three Trump campaign representatives went to that meeting in response to an email from a Russian citizen who was described as having secret information from the Russian government that could be used to influence a political campaign. Trump Jr explicitly wrote back that he was enthusiastic about that information coming out, especially later in the summer. His intent could not be clearer.

As Jon Oliver recently put it, someone who agrees to buy cocaine but ends up buying a bag of sugar is still guilty of committing the crime. Not being able to consummate the drug purchase does not absolve that person of the crime.

In the last paragraph you mentioned the element intent and the transaction in that the person purchased the sugar genuinely believing it was cocaine as agreed.

What actually happened is that Trump Jr was told that there is some (unspecific) damaging information on Clinton. It would seem no transaction relating to this took place further than that point. Thus there was no agreement between the parties, hence no collusion unless facts can be produced to show otherwise.

During an election all the parties look in the sewers and troughs to see what their opponents have been getting up to.

Maybe not but that would be immaterial to establish what Trump knew before the elections.

Oh look! A suspected spy was also at that meeting!

The Russian lawyer who met with the Trump team after a promise of compromising material on Hillary Clinton was accompanied by a Russian-American lobbyist — a former Soviet counter intelligence officer who is suspected by some U.S. officials of having ongoing ties to Russian intelligence, NBC News has learned.

Well, it makes sense, considering that she does not speak English at all (she was using interpreter during interview with with american news agency). As for former KGB agent with US citizenship who was interpreter there, that's your problem now, not russian one :)

Now, lets review your theory. Putin sends a woman who does not speak a word of english to offer a dirt on Clinton to America who in turn use now american citizen as an interpreter. Putin must be as dumb as Trump himself, and that former KGB agent is dumb too. Everybody is dumb!

Yet we know that:

- emails were stolen
- there was a meeting between Russian and Trump Campaign
- emails were leaked
- Kuschner tried to establish secret communication line with Moscow through the Russian Embassy

And everything about this meeting keeps expanding and expanding.

Putin isn't stupid, however, the idea a nobody Russian lawyer who doesn't speak English convinced a music producer that had met Trump to mediate a meeting between them, under the guise of intelligence from the Russian Government, in order to discuss (through an interpreter) the Magnitsky Act to help unthaw the Putin freeze on orphan adoption in Russia seems magnitudes more wildly convoluted.

And as stated before, I think Mueller already knows more about this than the public.

You keep repeating this as if it were important.

I think the woman is just trying to plug herself to as many important people as possible using any means.
She was acting on her own here. Sometimes cigar is just a cigar.

It is, because it is doing something that Trumpiphiles, Russiaphiles, and barbos keep trying to not do, look at the whole picture. We are putting a puzzle together and people keep looking at a single piece of the puzzle and say, "I don't see a zoo in this piece."
And everything about this meeting keeps expanding and expanding.

That doesn't explain how she was able to use Goldstone to use his relationship to Emin for her advantage.
She was acting on her own here. Sometimes cigar is just a cigar.
And you base this solely on Donald Trump Jr's and her word that nothing came from the meeting.

The other major piece of the puzzle is that this is getting closer to the point where a fire lights under the asses of the US Intelligence agencies, indicating something substantial was discovered. We know the House investigation found something, because the brakes were hit so hard in that investigation that a few Representatives needed to be hospitalized with whiplash.

But why were Kushner and Manafort at the meeting? And this former KGB guy? And why was her case settled for pennies after Trump fired the prosecuting attorneys?

I think the simplest explanation is the best: Veselnitskaya's job was to find out if the Trump campaign would nibble.

And they did.

If so, bigger shoes will fall. Wouldn't surprise me if Kushner is out by the end of the year.

And now Jr.'s Lawyer says there was another person in the room. Bringing the total to six.

This cigar is starting to look like a formal meeting.

It's just now come out there was a sixth person in the meeting.

Trump Jr., Manafort, and Kushner just can't seem to come clean about what the hell is going on here.

There is only one scenario that explains all the facts; whatever they are covering up is far, far worse than any damage that can be caused by a never ending slow drip of damning information. At some point there will be no need to know exactly what it is that terrifies them so, as the fact of a cover-up will be sufficient to put this administration out of its misery.

Okay, okay, Kuschner and Donnie J were DP'ing Veselnitskaya while Manafort and the former KGB agent worked on the best way to disseminate the stolen emails into the media... but that was it. And everybody does it.

"Okay, so we killed off Pete Smith - anyone would have done that in our situation!"

I thought it was a formal meeting. I'm sure Kushner would have liked the information he was offered but was not (it seems) forthcoming.

"Seems" to you, because trusty Don and Jared said so ...
Weak sauce. You have to be an utter fool to believe anything either of them says, at this point.
