Let me play a hypothetical here: imagine that fairly solid (even a sex tape) evidence of Hillary Clinton having sex with one or more women existed. Would it be misogynistic or homophobic to release the evidence? How would that compare to Ted Cruz? Does the age of their respective children mean anything? It just seems worse to many to be banging around before the kids have left the nest.
Is Ted Cruz being "Slut-Shamed"?
What if it were any other random female candidate, democrat or preferably republican who did not have a husband that was a proven womanizer? Would that make a difference?
It really depends on the candidate. Take Trump for example; he's basically shit proof because he is shit. The more the better.
How out of line would it be for Hillary to have a lesbian affair? Hard to say, but she is a librul out to destroy our Jesus morals. And hey, what's good the Bill is good for the Hillary. So I don't think it would harm her too badly. Besides, how offended would Bill be about it? His biggest problem would be that he wasn't invited.
But then there's Ted Cruz. He's touts himself as a Man Of God and claims moral superiority due to his faith. It's almost as bad as a video tape surfacing showing Drumpf admitting that he's going to run as a false flag candidate to ensure that Hillary wins the Presidency. All credibility is shot. So to find out he was disgorging his divinely blessed seed into multiple harlots means a quick fall from grace, probably for the rest of his life.
And so sayeth The Lord.
That's about it. The human psyche can deal with almost almost anything, but hypocrisy. It's easy deal with a lying and cheating thief, if you know he is a lying cheating thief, and expect him to act like one.
It's the fear that he might be a lying cheating thief that causes the anxiety.
I don't mind a sanctimonious prick, if he is a sincere sanctimonious prick. Don't talk about my internet browser history one day and the next day be arrested soliciting sex from an undercover policeman at a public park.
Many years ago, Jimmy Swaggart was a well respected sanctimonious prick. He was revered by the Pentecostal community. When a New Orleans area church had a crisis involving their minister and his affair with a church member, he was asked to come in and council. His recommendation was to toss the bum to the street. I think they were expecting a round of hugs and forgiveness for the penitent, but that didn't happen.
Of course, all of this was a couple years before his own downfall. It didn't help that when he went out of town to pick up prostitutes, he happened to go to his defrocked brother's home parish.
There were rumors and stories, but up to that point, it hadn't been worth the trouble. The former minister had a private investigator watching Swaggart and was there to see him pick a woman at the curb and take her to a motel. The detective let the air out of one Swaggart's tires and called his client. When the minister arrived, Swaggart had just put the spare tire on his car, with the rim turned backwards. This was perfect because it couldn't roll.
There was a nasty confrontation and the next day, the incident was public knowledge.
Swaggart didn't lose his church, mainly because he wasn't stupid enough to ask for advice. It helped that he was the registered owner of all the property, not the church corporation. That was a slick move.
If the allegations turn out to be true, it will be the end of Ted Cruz's Presidential hopes, at least for this election. He doesn't have enough time to go fast in the wilderness for 40 days and come back a remade man.
