Merged So what's next for Trump?

Trump has better lawyers than Cohen could afford.

I see no evidence of that. He's been skating so far only due to the privileges of his former office.

I've no evidence but the news and a working knowledge of human nature,

But I'd bet a fair amount of money that Cohen "took one for the team", believing that it would be made worthwhile down the road a few years.

I see nothing but evidence for that. He isn't in jail, he likely isn't going to jail. Regardless of the laws he has broken.

Only because nobody has been willing to charge him yet. DOJ could have charged him with the hush money crime in 2021, plus multiple other charges from the Mueller investigation. Has nothing to do with his lawyers.

Meanwhile,

Former President Donald Trump accused the Manhattan district attorney of being a "Soros backed animal" — an accusation that plays into anti-Semitic tropes — and brushed off calls for his supporters to remain peaceful as he stares in the face of a possible indictment.

Though I'd say "animal" is probably more of a racist trope against Bragg.

The former president, who over the weekend called on his followers to "protest" and "take our nation back," also mocked calls for his supporters to stay civil and peaceful.

Bragg, Trump wrote, "IS JUST CARRYING OUT THE PLANS OF THE RADICAL LEFT LUNATICS. OUR COUNTRY IS BEING DESTROYED, AS THEY TELL US TO BE PEACEFUL!"

Trying to incite violence in the open, again. Ho hum.

He really has been able to get away with anything, hasn't he?

If I sexually harassed even a fraction of the women he has, I'd be fired. If I'd sexually assaulted that many women I'd be arrested.

If I had a fraction of the affairs he's had, my ex wives would have taken everything in the divorces and I'd be paying them a huge chunk of my income (assuming I could even get hired with the sexual harassment) for the rest of my life.

If I'd stolen from children's charities I'd be in jail for fraud.

If I'd stolen classified documents my ex wives' lawyers would have to visit me in federal prison for the one hour of the day that I was allowed out of the cell.

I've been waiting for that "Warden Norton at the end of Shawshank Redemption" moment where everything he's done comes to a head, but it just never seems to come. His claim about being able to shoot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue is depressingly accurate. Not only would he not lose supporters, but he would face no consequences. It's Sofa King frustrating.

Nevertheless I open my browser daily in hopes of discovering that Orange Turd is wearing prison attire.

Nothing but? Really?
That Corcoran clown is headed to court today as a witness against his client, Donald Trump.
With lawyers like that, who needs prosecutors?

Trump has violated so many laws and agreements and used his "charity" to pay off penalties, sold off failing casinos for an outrageous profit, incited a riot that paused our democracy... and he is still out there.

I commend you for your optimism, but Trump has some unique quality which has insulated himself from personal responsibility for a long time.

I see your frustration and raise you three points of anger.
But even a long time is finite. Trump will never get actual justice, but he will be taken out of the game relatively soon.

The grand jury in the Stormy Daniels payoff case, will not be indicting Trump until possibly Monday. The Grand Jury will not meet again until then.
Cheerful Charlie

Really the case for me is Georgia as that conspiracy of Trump to commit election fraud was the worst of the crimes (other than inciting sedition of course).

I’m hoping that once he’s sufficiently crippled that his idiot followers realize it’s hopeless, ALL the charges are leveled, including sedition and election fraud.

Donald Trump sparked anger by posting a picture of himself holding a baseball bat next to the head of the Manhattan District Attorney leading an investigation into him.

The one-term president posted an article to Truth Social which included a composite picture of himself and Alvin Bragg, who has accused the one-term president of creating “a false expectation” of being arrested this week.

The Manhattan grand jury is investigating hush money payments Mr Trump is accused of making to adult actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Reminds me of Robert De Niro's boardroom scene in The Untouchables.
But critics were quick to point out the Truth Social post featuring Mr Bragg and demanding that action be taken against Mr Trump.
“This threat is obstruction of justice and is a dangerous call to violence. Everyone needs to speak out,” wrote author Jennifer Taub on Twitter.
“Trump has today issued repeated stochastic terrorist calls for his cult to “remove” the “animal” Alvin Bragg - and use a baseball bat,” tweeted former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann.
And he added: “He’s trying to get this man killed. Period. Enough.”
CNN legal analyst Norm Eisen also spoke out about Mr Trump’s post.
“Threatening a prosecutor is a crime in NY. In fact MULTIPLE crimes: Harassment in the first degree NYPL 240.25; menacing in the second degree NYPL 120.14; stalking in the fourth or third degree NYPL 120.45 & 120.50 And that’s just for starters….” he tweeted.

A very bad day for Trump. Mark Meadows, Steven Miller and several other Trump White House aides have been ordered to testifiy over the January 6 riots.

In the Secret Documents at Mar-A-Lago case, Trump's lawyer has agreed to testify.

And Trump is trying to intimidate Judge Bragg. Posting a picture of himself holding a baseball bat next to a photot of Judge Bragg.

I know virtually nothing about Mr Bragg.

But he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who gets mad.
Or gets even.

He seems like the kind who makes sure it doesn't happen again, by whatever means necessary.

And the QOP would all pretend it's the Emperor's New Clothes.

I can see when it comes time for his arraignment he will be in hospital for for some "trumped" up reason.
