In this case I agree with the riught.
There is a consistent effort to eradicate aspects of culture demd politically incorrect.
Which culture would that be? Please be specific.
If a white guy opens a Mexican food restaurant he will be accused of 'cultural appropriation' and hounded.
Someone has never heard of Taco Bell. When "they" start closing down all the Taco Bell restaurants for cultural appropriation, I may concede your point.
This happened in Ca to two women who staed a food truck business selling Mexican food. Hounded out of business on social nedia.
There is no lack of food trucks selling tacos here in St. Louis, and I know not all of them are owned by Mexicans. My favorite (and the favorite of many at my former employer) is Seoul Taco. They had been going strong for years, at least until the pandemic, the owner is Korean, not Mexican, yet they have not been shut down for cultural appropriation. I suspect there is something more going on with the taco truck you mention.
The cultural tyranny has shifted form the right to the left.
No, it hasn't. Just go talk to Colin Kaepernick about that one. The right has just become ever more hypocritical about it. They started the whole damn thing, they have never stopped doing it, and now they are pissed that the blowback is starting to hit them. Well fuck them, people aren't tolerating their bullshit anymore, and that is a good thing. I will tell them to sit down and shut the fuck up if I damn well please, they have been telling me that for decades.
I remver the Smothers Brothers TV show and the censorship they faced over pollical commentary and humor. They had a censor on the set. They were hounded off the air.
Now it is the left enforcing pollical correctness in speech and action. If you say anything deemed offensive or insensitive you are off the air, look at recent TV events.
Todays media landscape in no way resembles that of the early '60s, when three corporations controlled everything you saw on TV, and were pressured by right-wingers to censor absolutely everything. Then it was possible to cancel the media presence of a show like the Smothers Brothers. That is no longer possible, yet the same people who would have cancelled the Smothers Brothers in the early 60s are the ones who are now complaining loudly on Fox News about being cancelled. Hint: when you can air your views on the largest cable news station in the country, you aren't being cancelled.
