The Marjorie Taylor Greene case

Calls to expel Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene after speech at white nationalist event | CPAC | The Guardian

Liz Cheney on Twitter: "As Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene and Rep Paul Gosar speak at this white supremacist, anti-Semitic, pro-Putin event, silence by Republican Party leaders is deafening and enabling.

All Americans should renounce this garbage and reject the Putin wing of the GOP now. (vid link)" / Twitter

DNC Statement on Marjorie Taylor Greene Speaking at a White Nationalist Conference - Democrats
... DNC spokesperson Ammar Moussa released the following statement:

“Does Marjorie Taylor Greene know no shame? We know the answer is no, but what about Kevin McCarthy? Time and time again he has shown he will do anything for power – even if it means elevating the likes of Marjorie Taylor Greene. In any other world, Greene speaking at a white supremacist conference where attendees have defended Vladimir Putin and praised Adolf Hitler would warrant expulsion from the caucus, to say nothing of her advocacy for violence and consistent anti-Semitism is disgusting. Quite simply, the longer Kevin McCarthy gives Marjorie Taylor Greene an unfettered platform and promises to elevate her – the more complicit he is.”

Back to The Guardian.
The congresswoman attacked Twitter for banning her and promoted Trump’s new social media site, Truth Social. She taunted Hillary Clinton, the former Democratic presidential nominee, and Anthony Fauci, infectious diseases expert and chief medical adviser to Joe Biden.

“We have to hold Democrats accountable, everybody. Right? Fire Fauci! We’ve got to investigate Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Lock her up! Lock them all up!”

With that she laughed, as the audience burst into applause.

I am not going to play the guilt by association game in which you demand every conservative should justify anything ever said by anyone they’ve ever shared a room with.

I’m not going to be drawn into that. I’m only responsible for what I say.

So ask me about my speech.

I talked about God and Liberty.

I’m also not going to turn down the opportunity to speak to 1,200 young America First patriots because of a few off-color remarks by another speaker, even if I find those remarks unsavory.

I want to embrace the young, boisterous and energetic conservatives in our movement—not cancel them like the establishment does.
Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo :p She ought to ask herself what taste in friends she has.

“It bothers me so much — they treat me as if I'm some kind of crazy person, or like I have three horns coming out of my head,” Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene said during a Sunday appearance on conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’s Infowars show.
Just two, Marjorie. Just two.

Just two, Marjorie. Just two.
From bilateral symmetry, one of them or all three of them would have to be on the body's reflection plane, like rhinoceros horns.

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) on Sunday slammed a pair of House Republicans after they attended a conference hosted by a prominent white nationalist over the weekend.

"Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar, I don't know them," Romney said during an appearance on CNN. "I'm reminded of the old line from the 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid' movie, where one character says, 'Morons, I have morons on my team.'"

The senator added there is "no place" in either political party for white nationalism or racism, calling it "simply wrong" for elected leaders to associate themselves with white nationalists.

I like what Romney said, but as a friend of mine said to me this morning...."I can't stand Romney. He's so wishy washy". I feel the same way. Besides, I could never trust a man who tied his dog to the roof of the car while driving to a vacation destination.

It's not MTG as much as it is the voters in a certain part of Georgia that borders the Tennessee line. Maybe I can start referring to it as lower Tennessee. MTG ain't right in the head and neither are her supporters! 😱

Jake Sherman on Twitter: "NEW. I just caught up with @GOPLeader on MTG, Gosar attending a white supremacist rally.

He said he plans to meet with @RepMTG this week.

“This is unacceptable.” (pic link)" / Twitter

Last week I was just in Israel. I took a number of the freshmen, we went and saw Yad V'Shem. When I come back i see two colleagues who went and participated with a group that has a leader that many times gives anti semitic views, and led a chant for Putin. For me it was of this... appalling and wrong. And there's no place in our party for any of this. The party should not be associated any time any place with somebody who is anti Semitic. ... She has personally gone to answer this. But I think with that introduction, you should've walked off stage. ... This is unacceptable.
Let's see what that meeting gives us. If anything.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter: "McCarthy has been protecting his little KKK Caucus for years with these toothless statements and meetings.

It’s how he covers for them.

He’s now helped them for so long they’ve escalated their open antisemitism & collaboration w/ white nationalist groups. He’s just as culpable." / Twitter

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter: "McCarthy stood on the House floor and passionately defended Rep. Gosar, who also headlined fundraisers for white nationalist orgs & escalated into inciting violence in the House. He made it fair game.

It’s not an exaggeration in the slightest to say he works to protect them." / Twitter

Gabe Ortíz on Twitter: "Thank you. Don't forget Kevin McCarthy has already said he'd reinstate T*ylor Gr*ene (and Paul G*sar) on committees if Republicans take the House, even saying "they may have better" assignments." / Twitter

Acyn on Twitter: "Kevin McCarthy doesn’t want to comment on Marjorie Taylor Greene appearing at a white nationalist conference (vid link)" / Twitter

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter: "Doesn’t want to alienate his base" / Twitter

Thus forgoing a great opportunity for hippie-punching.

Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene heckle Biden at State of Union
A notable moment came when Biden talked about the flag-draped coffins of fallen service members, including his son Beau, who died in 2015 of brain cancer at age 46.

As Biden spoke about Beau, people inside the House chambers reported someone shouting, “You put them in there, 13 of them." Some in the chambers began to boo and groan at the comment as Biden paused for a brief moment and continued his address.
Justin Baragona on Twitter: "Here's the moment where Lauren Boebert was booed for shouting that Biden put soldiers in flag-draped coffins -- all while the president was talking about his veteran son dying of cancer and how it potentially could have been due to burn pits. (vid link)" / Twitter

Lauren Boebert on Twitter: "When Biden said flag draped coffins I couldn't stay silent. I told him directly he did it. He put 13 in there.
Our heroic servicemen and women deserve so much better." / Twitter

The Recount on Twitter: "Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) turn their backs and refuse to applaud Biden's cabinet. #SOTU (vid link)" / Twitter

When Biden spoke about securing the U.S.-Mexico border, Boebert, alongside Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, yelled out "build the wall" in reference to former President Donald Trump's emphasis on protecting the border.

Some of their fellow Republicans found their behavior very boorish.
In an appearance on "CBS Mornings" on Wednesday, Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., condemned Boebert and Greene "antics" during Biden's speech and said he expected other Republicans would join him.

“I don’t think there’s any place for that. It’s inappropriate," Thune said. "A State of the Union speech, whether you agree with the president or not, is an opportunity to show the American people the respect that the office deserves."

Yea… about that wall…….

Turns out smugglers have used basic power tool to cut through it about… 3,272 times.. and used tinted putty to put the cut piece back in place so it wouldn’t be noticed so they can keep using it without being bothered to cut another hole.

By the end of December 2021, it was reported that Greene had piled up over $100,000 in fines. Congressional salary is $174,000 a year, so since Greene has continued to refuse to wear a mask, her salary is likely gone.

Greene and Massie’s lawsuit never stood a chance. Speaker Pelosi has the legal authority to make the rules in the House. There is no constitutional issue. No part of the Constitution says that people can do what they want if they choose not to follow the law.

Yeah, but she's been making money trading stocks and supposedly her net worth is rather high. She doesn't need that puny little salary.

The saddest part is that she has raised far more money than any of the people who plan on challenging her in the primaries, as well as the Democrat I've read about who plans on running against her. Most of that money came from people out of the state of Georgia. At least that gives me a little hope that people in Georgia can't stand her, but her part of Georgia is really lower Tennessee, so we will probably be stuck with her for at least another term.

She's a parent, right? Shouldn't she at least have had that 'time for their ___th shot!' conversation at yhe doctor's office?

Four times four three kids?
