Why do you think affairs are more common in the west? They´re not. In fact, research seems to indicate that men cheating on their partners is much more common the poorer the country is. Which means that affairs are likely to be much more common in the average Islamic country than the average western country. While men in islamic countries are more likely to condemn infidelity in strong terms, they´re by no means less likely to engage in it.

Secondly, they literally can NOT both be true. That´s not how the english language works. You can´t say that ´MOST of X is because of something´, while also saying that ´MOST of X is because of SOMETHING ELSE´. Those are two contradictory statements.
