What is *different* recently is 1) they're coming in through mexico which is extremely unusual and 2) it's disproportionally military aged single males where previously there's been a large number of female immigrants and young families seeking to enter.

But Canada has gotten upset with the Chinese buying up Canadian real estate. Perhaps that route is harder now.

And the route through Mexico runs an appreciable rape risk for women. It's not surprising that it's more male.

The term "military aged" comes across as a scare tactic because it is vaguely defined and may actually be broader logically than how it sounds but evokes an emotional response. For example, a Chinese civil rights group surveyed 100 of these immigrants found some 80% or so were within ages 35-54. While one might not trust the civil rights group--maybe it's an arm of the CCP!!11!--one must admit that the term is so vague, that 35-54 is also military aged. Here's something else to consider: when I was in basic training, there were a lot of young guys who had joined, but the oldest private in the platoon was 35 years old and that is joining age, not retirement age. Colonels, generals, etc can be quite old and even sergeants can be, I mean, you might retire some 30 years or more later from when you start. Colin Powell joined the military at 21 years old after college and ROTC and he was in the military for 35 years (56 years old). Chiang Wei-kuo (from China) began his military career at 20 years old and by 64 years old he was 12th Commander-in-Chief of the Combined Services Force and by 70 years old he was 4th Secretary-General of the National Security Council. So what precisely does "military aged" mean except 18-60 or 18-55 or 18-45?

On the other hand, there was a lawyer who said most of his Chinese immigrant clients were in a younger bracket, let's say 20-45. Is that the range you are imagining when you hear "military aged?" or is it "18-25," a typical recruitment age range?

What do you imagine is the age range for immigration normally? Wouldn't it tend to be people who do not own property/are not set up/set in their ways, who save up some money and then can try to change their lives?

Finally, if we do not have the numbers, how do we conclude the age range is "disproportionate?"

Republicans controlled the white house under trump and congress for two years. What did they do? Did they finish the wall? Did they beef up the border police; staff more the immigration courts; beef up security at the ports (where the dreaded fetnahl flows)??? Hell no.
