Trump VS COVID-19 Threat

I cannot imagine a picture that more succinctly sums up the TCFA's (Trump Crime Family Administration's) attitude toward pandemic management.

You could be reading too much into it. I mean, there is a clear evolutionary gap between Trump supporters/enablers and the rest of humanity, maybe Pence is just hoping covid-19 doesn't jump to other species.

Coronavirus Essential Workers at Amazon, Walmart to Strike
An unprecedented coalition of workers from some of America’s largest companies will strike on Friday. Workers from Amazon, Instacart, Whole Foods, Walmart, Target, and FedEx are slated to walk out on work, citing what they say is their employers’ record profits at the expense of workers’ health and safety during the coronavirus pandemic.

The employees will call out sick or walk off the job during their lunch break, according to a press release set to be published by organizers on Wednesday. In some locations, rank-and-file union members will join workers outside their warehouses and storefronts to support the demonstrations.

The same unwillingness of elites to accept that something very bad is happening that they have to do something about. Likely because the elites aren't bitten by it until it is too late to do much about it.

I've seen people fly into a rage because a place was out of ketchup packets to put on their hot dogs. Can't imagine the outrage with no meat.

In other words. China isn't to blame at all for this pandemic. It's all His Flatulence's fault that this virus has spread around the planet. Perhaps His Flatulence actually came up with this virus himself then got one of his cronies to ship it to Wuhan so the world would blame China without suspecting that it was purely invented by His Flatulence himself. And the moon landings were all faked. I wonder if His Flatulence was also involved in that caper!

Nobody is to blame for it's existence. Leaders are responsible for how they handle it, and his handling of it is has been terrible.

Well, Ohio's Governor continues to show the GOP Stupidity Vaccine is working. His plan is to take this thing slowly (though maybe not slow enough) and responsibly, even though the GOP is growing restless in the State Legislature. Probably one more week would be better to let us see TN and GA numbers as those states move forward recklessly.

I can't believe the epidemic has become so partisan. Trump has really shown how vilely partisan the right-wing has become. They can't even agree that trying to save hundreds of thousands to over a million lives is a responsible thing to do. They almost (or actually do) hold the vulnerable and elderly in contempt.

I think the worst part of all this is that it demonstrates a definite need for a competent government and that the whole "free market" will handle things argument is more hollow than a chocolate bunny.

Missouri's Governor Parsons is re-opening the State as well. I saw his announcement on the news, and he said they would be "enforcing" social distancing, and restaurants restricted to 50% capacity. When asked how the State would be enforcing the measures, he said that first businesses would be enforcing the rules, and then their customers would be enforcing the rules.

So, what he was saying is that Missouri is going with the style of enforcement that doesn't actually enforce anything. At least he isn't precluding local governments from continuing to keep their stay at home policies, and most of St. Louis is doing so, but there are some areas of the metro area that are already saying they are going to go along with Parsons. This is a disaster in the making.

Where is the PPE coming from for all of these employees to use it? Found out I will need a mask for a project I’m working on for field work. I think I need to sew several.

Where is the PPE coming from for all of these employees to use it?
I don't know if you're old enough to remember the TV show, Carter Country?
The mayor of that small Southern town was always making demands and refusing to get involved in the details.
Just made a shooing gesture, saying 'Handle it, handle it!'

F-head is now going to order all meat plants to stay open even though they've become COVID hot spots, using the Defense Production Act, which he seems unable to effectively use to increase the supply of things like PPEs.

I have no words.
They already turned off sports. They turn off meat, and people will be pissed! So, how are these plants going to stay open if everyone is sick, or do we quarantine people at the plant so they only work at the plant... oh fuck... should I delete that before the GOP runs with it?
As we picked up our butchered 1/2 hog order from a local farm a month ago, I'm not too concerned...now we will just have process our belly fat sooner to get bacon. Just imagine if the Clownstick show had actually worked on real test plans and worked to help test first responders, and our food chain workers...oh wait yeah Repugs making dictatorial orders is much better.

Also,

COULD EVERYONE STOP RESPONDING TO HALF LIFE?!?!?

Thanks in advance.
But only if one doesn't eat ravioli out of a can :D

What a load of bullshit. Not surprising that a dupe of alt-white extremist propaganda would post alt-white propaganda, but sheesh - almost every sentence of that lying screed can be shown to be hollow orange-idolatry within 60 seconds.

TRUMP'S DECEPTIVE CLAIM OF "MOST TESTING"

The PINO keeps harping about doing "the most testing of anybody" but anyone who spends more than five seconds researching that claim will find that the US is not #1, or #2 or #3 in testing, but in fact the US is #42 on the list of countries that have done testing, in terms of tests per million people, which is what counts.
Cheato harps on Spain, which has done over 30,000 tests per million people.
In fact that is almost TWICE the rate of the US, at just over 17000 tests per million.

No, saying that "we are doing more testing than anybody" is not a lie, it is, like almost everything the TCFA puts out, "only" a malevolent deception intended to give a very false impression.

In the mean time, Trump and everyone he is in contact with get tested at regular intervals. I guess those tests are hard to get only if you are a pleb.

No, but I remember a show where some annoying guy was always saying, “Make it so”.

The Asshat Pence would never have gained admittance to Mayo were I there. We would have had a good rumble on the floor at his request, after which I would have duck-taped the mask to his face and escorted him forward.

This makes me angry. I'm usually all for worker's strikes. But when those strikes leverage risk to uninvolved people as a means to get what they want, I'm not so supportive. This is very, very borderline for me. If these were normal times, I'd be all for it - there are many other options available to people in normal times. But right now, most of the country is on lockdown, and we're relying on these delivery services in order to get food, prescription drugs, and other basic necessities. Failure of that delivery service puts people in a position where they need to leave their houses in larger numbers, go to stores in larger numbers, and thus exposes a larger number of people to infection.

I fully support their claim to need increased health and safety precautions. I don't support them taking action that increases the health and safety of everyone else in order to get it.

The safety of their working conditions should be held in the exact same regard as is their work's importance on our livelihoods. IE, what the heck good is them working and getting sick, if we need them to deliver us the stuff. Their health is a national interest at this point and must be protected first!

The lack of proper health safety precautions for them is a national security threat.

I agree that their safety is important. Do you feel that them threatening the health and safety of a bunch of other people who aren't directly involved is an appropriate way to address this? Would you approve of police forces going on strike and not upholding the law in order for them to get better working conditions? Would you approve of firemen going on strike and refusing to put out fires in order to get better safety gear?

I'm all for better conditions and gear. I want my delivery people to be as protected as they reasonably can be. But them going on strike isn't threatening their employers, and it's not putting their employers at risk. It's threatening their customers and putting their customers at risk.

wait, your entire point is that we are ALL involved, here, isn't it? We need them, but they're being told tobsacrifice themselves for us.
The priority should not be tgat they find a convenient way to demand protections, but that their protection is intricate with our protections.
Would you approve of police forces going on strike and not upholding the law in order for them to get better working conditions?
yes, actually. If thry KNOW the conditions are unsafe, and they're told to work, anyway, then thry should strike.
Blue flu, as it were.
Would you approve of firemen going on strike and refusing to put out fires in order to get better safety gear?
not 'better. To be analogous, it would be 'any' gear.
Do you want firemen going into burning buildings wearing bandanas?
I'm all for better conditions and gear. I want my delivery people to be as protected as they reasonably can be. But them going on strike isn't threatening their employers, and it's not putting their employers at risk.
actually, it is.
Their employers are making descisions based on profits.
Without workers, there are no ptprofits.
It's threatening their customers and putting their customers at risk.
Um, yeah. Thus motivating a better and quick resolution.

As long as tge goods flow, the boss has no motive to act.
Stop that, stop tge money, they MUST act.
