Trump VS COVID-19 Threat

The 11 wildest lines from Donald Trump's utterly childish letter to Chuck Schumer - CNNPolitics
working from
Letter from President Donald J. Trump to Senator Charles E. Schumer | The White House
and rebutting each of them.

1. "Thank you for your Democrat public relations letter and incorrect sound bites, which are wrong in every way."

2. "Vice President Pence is in charge of the Task Force. By almost all accounts, he has done a spectacular job."

3. "The Defense Production Act (DPA) has been consistently used by my team and me for the purchase of billions of dollars' worth of equipment, medical supplies, ventilators, and other related items."

4. "We have given New York many things, including hospitals, medical centers, medical supplies, record numbers of ventilators, and more."

5. "As you are aware, the Federal Government is merely a back-up for state governments. Unfortunately, your state needed far more of a back-up than most others."

6. "If you spent less time on your ridiculous impeachment hoax, which went haplessly on forever and ended up going nowhere (except increasing my poll numbers), and instead focused on helping the people of New York, then New York would not have been so completely unprepared for the 'invisible enemy.'"

7. "No wonder AOC and others are thinking about running against you in the primary. If they did, they would likely win."

8. "You have been missing in action, except when it comes to the 'press.'"

9. "While you have stated that you don't like Andrew Cuomo, you ought to start working alongside him for the good of all New Yorkers."

10. "I've known you for many years, but I never knew how bad a Senator you are for the state of New York, until I became President."

11. "If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call."

What a big baby.

Pelosi calls Trump’s criticism of Democrats ‘chicken feed’ that should be ignored - The Washington Post
elosi described comments from Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who told The Washington Post on Wednesday that she should “stand down” on passing a relief bill in the House, as just part of “playing to their base” of conservative activists while behind-the-scenes negotiations moved along among the key players.

“That’s chicken feed,” Pelosi said in a brief interview Friday morning, explaining that the emerging legislation would be “big” and have bipartisan support. “You can’t pay attention to that stuff. And that’s the communication of it all.”
I wonder what word she originally thought of. :D

AOC earlier stated:
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter: "COVID deaths are disproportionately spiking in Black + Brown communities.
Why? Because the chronic toll of redlining, environmental racism, wealth gap, etc. ARE underlying health conditions.
Inequality is a comorbidity. COVID relief should be drafted with a lens of reparations." / Twitter

Right-wingers were furious, with Laura Ingraham dismissing her as a "Doctor of Mixology".

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter: "I deal w/ a lot of violent threats, vitriol, etc.
But I never get more hate aimed at me than when I address racial inequities.
If some people think racial disparities are as much a myth as other issues I discuss, then why do they get so much more violent & angry on this topic?" / Twitter

She got a response that I find interesting:
Zinovia "Zina" Spezakis for Congress NJ9 ✊🏼🇺🇸🌈 on Twitter: "@AOC It's because you point out just how racists many Americans are in their hearts." / Twitter

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter: "To all the people that said “there’s no evidence racial disparities in COVID impact exist.” ⬇️⬇️⬇️

noted
Mark D. Levine on Twitter: "Michigan has just started reporting on coronavirus cases by race.
African Americans are 14% of that state's population but 40% of deaths.
This pandemic is reflecting--and exacerbating--inequality.
NYC should publish this data as well, so we get the picture here. https://t.co/u0UeWZfJvA" / Twitter

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter: "I incl that last detail to illustrate that these are also HISTORICALLY Black communities, which means they have been impacted by racist policies like redlining for generations.
This pandemic is happening in CONTEXT. & a lot of folks who deny racism have no idea what it really is" / Twitter

Bernice King is a daughter of MLK Jr.

My father was murdered for working to end racism, war and poverty and for speaking truth to White people in power who didn’t want to share it.
The evils he opposed then still exist now.

Social distancing for coronavirus is flattening the curve, California and Washington data show - The Washington Post
Those states were the first to report community cases of covid-19 and also among the first in the nation to mandate residents stay at home and close businesses and schools to keep people physically apart. Analyses from academics and federal and local officials indicate those moves bought those communities precious time — and also may have “flattened the curve” of infections for the long haul.

...
Weaning a city or state off lockdown requires something no area in the United States seems to have yet: an exhaustive number of tests.

“Once this first wave is over, we’ll have to get some kind of mass testing machine in order to get a situation where we don’t need [social distancing],” said University of Washington’s Christopher Murray, director of IHME. “We’ll have to do mass testing and contact tracing and some quarantines.”
The Washington Post on Twitter: "Social distancing works. The earlier the better, California and Washington data shows. https://t.co/EKGkt9AgSf" / Twitter

Rebecca Watson on Twitter: "I'll admit, I was annoyed with how long it took Mayor Breed & the tech companies to shut SF Bay down but we were still the first in the nation and it seems to have made a big impact. There's no such thing as " picking winners." The winner would be the world community were a cure, or at least a treatment be discovered. There are various government as well as privately funded scientific labs working on a vaccine throughout the Western world at least.

Methinks were the US trials to prove successful in making a vaccine, the left would be devastated in case it would help re-elect the Donald. The left would rather see people die if it helps their cause! Is that the depravity the Dems have slunk to?

Man the bullshit is just flinging at record levels. Trump isn’t a doctor. Almost all doctors don’t think it will work. And people are being used as needless guinea pigs for a medication that won’t work, clogging up the chances to actually find a treatment.

It is migraine inducing madness.

Medication that won't work, and your qualifications for making such a statement are...................................? In such a crisis as this Pandemic, isn't every angle, every formula of past and new promising experiment worth a try?

Beware, this is infected with Covfefe-19.

Why should we care what that lying sack of shit says?

(With apologies to shit, at least shit is fertilizer.)

Okay, ignore what " the sack of shit" has to say. But What about what the experts in that press conference have to say? Because they're sharing the podium with the " sack of shit" they should also just shut the f up?

If Trump has his way, yes. Egotistical sack of shit that he is, no one is allowed to speak when he's near a camera. Also the only one with any credibility, Dr Fauci, got yanked from the daily briefings because he committed the terrible crime of telling the truth.

I already addresses that comment in that post you quoted. Doctors don’t think it will work. So generally it is a waste of time and unethical to use as a treatment.

Location Data Says It All: Staying at Home During Coronavirus Is a Luxury - The New York Times
In cities across America, many lower-income workers continue to move around, while those who make more money are staying home and limiting their exposure to the coronavirus, according to smartphone location data analyzed by The New York Times.

Although people in all income groups are moving less than they did before the crisis, wealthier people are staying home the most, especially during the workweek. Not only that, but in nearly every state, they began doing so days before the poor, giving them a head start on social distancing as the virus spread, according to aggregated data from the location analysis company Cuebiq, which tracks about 15 million cellphone users nationwide daily.
That's because they are often in jobs that make them get out of the house.

Kamala Harris on Twitter: "We cannot ignore the disparities that exist when it comes to the coronavirus. For many, staying at home is a privilege. https://t.co/Ctb1XC3yLI" / Twitter

When AOC pointed out such racial disparities, the right-wingers made a big display of AOC Derangement Syndrome, going into hysterics.

‘We Will Not Sit Back and Let Transit Workers Be Treated Like Cannon Fodder’ | The Nation
After some transit workers died of the virus,
Now, frustrated by the failure of too many cities and systems to protect workers, the Transport Workers Union and the Amalgamated Transit Union have entered into a historic agreement to take “whatever aggressive action is necessary” to “put maximum pressure on transit agencies that are failing to take protective measures to safeguard transit workers, including the provision of masks and gloves.” In so doing, they are mounting a defense not just of their own members but also of passengers who have become increasingly reliant on public transportation in a time of crisis.

In a joint statement, the unions noted that “hundreds of transit workers in more than 20 states have tested positive for the virus. New York City, where 10 transit workers have died, is the national epicenter today, but the virus continues to rapidly spread across the country. Line of duty fatalities among transit workers have also been confirmed in Detroit; New Orleans; Philadelphia; Boston, Washington, D.C.; Rocky Hill, Connecticut; and Everett, Washington.”
John Nichols on Twitter: "“We will not sit back and let transit workers be treated like cannon fodder in this war against the coronavirus.”

U.S. 'wasted' months before preparing for virus pandemic
As the first alarms sounded in early January that an outbreak of a novel coronavirus in China might ignite a global pandemic, the Trump administration squandered nearly two months that could have been used to bolster the federal stockpile of critically needed medical supplies and equipment.

A review of federal purchasing contracts by The Associated Press shows federal agencies waited until mid-March to begin placing bulk orders of N95 respirator masks, mechanical ventilators and other equipment needed by front-line health care workers.

Biden: Trump has left US unprepared to respond to epidemic | TheHill
noting
Joe Biden: Trump has weakened our capacity to deal with coronavirus - back in Jan 27
The possibility of a pandemic is a challenge Donald Trump is unqualified to handle as president. I remember how Trump sought to stoke fear and stigma during the 2014 Ebola epidemic. He called President Barack Obama a “dope” and “incompetent” and railed against the evidence-based response our administration put in place — which quelled the crisis and saved hundreds of thousands of lives — in favor of reactionary travel bans that would only have made things worse. He advocated abandoning exposed and infected American citizens rather than bringing them home for treatment.

Trump’s demonstrated failures of judgment and his repeated rejection of science make him the worst possible person to lead our country through a global health challenge.
Then talking about how he reduced US pandemic preparedness with his budget cuts for those who could have acted on one.

Trump team picks fight with Twitter, TV networks over political speech | TheHill
President Trump’s reelection campaign is aggressively pressuring Twitter and broadcast outlets to sanction or pull misleading political attacks from Democrats, accusing the social media giant and the news media of using a double standard when it comes to policing political speech.

...
In recent weeks, the Trump campaign has threatened legal action against TV stations for airing an ad cut by a Democratic super PAC that makes it seem as if Trump called the coronavirus a “hoax.”

...
And this week, the Trump campaign took the unusual step of producing a deliberately misleading clip of former Vice President Joe Biden calling the coronavirus a “hoax” with the sole purpose of testing Twitter to see if it would enforce its rules equally on the Trump and Biden campaigns.

“Everything indicates that the Democrat donors who run Silicon Valley are intent on stacking the deck against President Trump’s reelection,” said Matt Wolking, a Trump campaign spokesman.
Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo. What a big baby.
