Trump's Appointments

What's the summary. I hate watching videos.

Don't bother. Seems to be garbage. The thumbnail says the WSJ exposed the story, but if you watch the video, he cites the Daily Mail instead. And you know how much the DM is respected in these parts.

It's not garbage, but would be so much better just post a link to the source, which is clearly not the video guy.

Media illiteracy is an epidemic.

Media illiteracy is an epidemic.
What’s the big deal if someone who promised to not drink on the job and sent secret military attack plans through unsecured methods to a journalist decides to take irrelevant guests to too secret military talks as long as he scrubs references to Enola Gay, code talkers, etc.. and renames forts after traitors? It’s all part of MAGA!!!!!

I live in timber state. With a long history of logging.
My first real job was at a plant that built sawmills.
Now the industry is small compared to what it was.
But still a large producer.
tRump would like to cut it all down.
Now, I think we could have a sustainable industry and keep the old growth.
It's not like it was 50 years ago. A few guys can log a big area with the modern machines.
Most harvesting today is done on private land.

I never understand people who want to "bring back" clear-cutting in states like my own where that practice came close to destroying the entire industry, and was only saved and transformed into a sustainable and perennial industry by setting said practice aside. You'd think loggers themselves would understand a principle as simple and obvious as, "if you cut down every tree, there won't be a forest there anymore."

They're acting just like corporate raiders.

Cabinet Frolics -- Latest Installment
1- Another Hegseth Signal Chat on military matters, this one including his wife, brother, and lawyer. I think the guy who cuts his lawn was left out. (Hints from Pentagon sources that more Pete stories will break this week. Not a surprise if that's true. He of course is sputtering away, blaming the media for his woes.)
2- Kristi Noem, our Homeland Security chief, had her purse stolen while she sat in a DC burger palace. She lost $3K plus all her IDs. Apparently she had her purse parked on the floor. I hope the thief at least gives a token donation to a dog shelter. Cricket would wag his little ghost tail. Nice that you can't even secure your own shit, Kristi.

Regarding that second one...

How in the everlasting fuck does a Cabinet Secretary - with a Secret Service detail - get robbed at random in a DC restaurant? What is a high level government official doing with $3k in cash and (according to reports) blank checks? I mean...who carries a checkbook in 2025? This stinks to high (non-existent) heaven.

The $3k in cash caught my eye also. A short-skirted woman or any black man would be arrested on suspicion just for possession of that much cash. I realize she is Secretary in Charge of Collecting Bribes from Drug Dealers and Other Smugglers, but I doubt she would personally handle bribes that small.

I think high-class rent boys take debit cards; so maybe Ms. Noem prefers the "rough trade." OTOH a more innocent explanation is also plausible: Maybe she just was en route to buy a gaggle of pets or farm animals for her torturing amusement.

She wasn't robbed, but burgled, right? Someone snatched the purse.

Yeah, that doesn't pair. I can get the $3000 in cash or the checks, but both?

I think we'll learn shortly that she & Lauren Boebert were gonna meet up at a Chippendales show, and Kristi was supposed to bring the Speedo stuffers.

The Secretary of Defense shares attack plans on unsecured communication lines. The Director of Homeland Security cannot keep her handbag from being stolen.

I don’t know about you, but I sure feel safe.

What I want to know is was she carrying a designer bag and how much was that worth? If it was a Birkin it is worth $20K

I'm still wondering about the "burgled" part. I'm reminded of a story from awhile back (just how far you'll soon see) related by a guy I knew. Rick was a big dude...6'4", buff, and the sort of fellow you'd see grunting at the gym a lot. He was at an event, and someone tapped on his shoulder. He brushed it off, then brushed it off again, and (Rick had a short temper) turned around after the 3rd tap and said "what the fuck, over?"

He said "I've never seen someone that huge." It was a Secret Service agent who said "excuse me sir, but Vice President Gore is coming through here. Please step aside."

I have a hard time believing that anyone other than a waiter got that close to Secretary Dog Shooter.
