that people in the US are living in the matrx
Hold higher institutions accountable for getting rid of extra and needless administration, reduce costs, and give them an accreditation system. Basically do what the smaller trade colleges have already proven successful. Its refreshing to hear a politician actually saying what the rest of us are thinking but unfortunately Trump's too divisive to get this done IMO. There are just too many people benefiting from high student loans for any changes to ever be made.

:hysterical:

What Trump Promised

As a 2016 candidate, Donald Trump made huge promises to American families, claiming that he’d work for them rather than wealthy donors and corporate interests.

He promised to lower drug prices and give people great health care. He claimed he’d increase wages. He boasted that factories would stop moving overseas.

Here’s the Reality

He’s siding with insurance companies to end protections for people with pre-existing conditions. He’s siding with drug companies as drug prices soar. And he passed a tax bill that gave almost all the benefits to the wealthy and big corporations that even rewarded companies for moving jobs overseas.

Amazing you can be such a sucker for this shit, RV.

Oh goody, real education. Nothing like fixing the problems that don't exist verses his health care replacement to ACA which was going to bigger and cheaper and some shit like that. Trump signed off on a massive corporate tax cut and that was the end of his accomplishments. Oh he signed so idiotic agreement with North Korea without knowing what it was.

Hold higher institutions accountable for getting rid of extra and needless administration,
How will we determine what's needless? Will stuff be just declared needless if Trump can't, won't, or doesn't understand its purpose?

Or should we set up an administrative committee to look into what is needed and what is needless? ;)

Who actually crafted this policy? It's far beyond anything Trump is capable of creating. If we look at Trump's record, we see Betsy DeVos, his Secretary of Education, who was making money off of student loans.

I wonder if anyone told Trump that accreditation agencies are privately owned companies that are approved by the Secretary of Education. Accreditation by these agencies is critical for receiving Federal funds. so it's serious business.

I'm going to jump the gun and declare Trump's "plan to fix higher education" is actually his "I'm dumber than DeSantes policy" statement.

No, it's not. It's a very stale and ugly thing, called "populism", and has been abused to justify seizing power by demagogues throughout history.

What would be refreshing would be to hear a politician saying something that makes the rest of us rethink our mostly erroneous beliefs and prejudices - but there are no votes in doing that, so don't hold your breath.

I for one completely trust the guy who is on record saying "I love the poorly educated" to fix higher education. America needs more people who can remember "Man. Woman. Person. Camera. TV".

This is an excellent plan and it has my complete support.

So the basics of this plan are:

1. Complain about "the radical left."
2. Whine some more about "the radical left."
3. Bitch about "Marxist maniacs and lunatics."
4. Hire people who will enforce nationalism and promote white supremacy.
5. Remove anyone who might actually accept other races, creeds, or colors.
6. Something, something job placement (like colleges don't do that).
7. Introduce the transformative idea of admissions standards and testing to graduate, because colleges also don't do that. /S
8. Prosecute anyone who doesn't support white supremacy, and take away their money.
9. Take that money and give it to white people (and presumably, straight Christian ones) as "reparations" to compensate for their victim hood.
10. Nationalism, nationalism, nationalism.

What's not to like? Plus get a free armband and a brown shirt when you matriculate!

What's your solution to college debt?

And what is the Democrat solution to this that does not involve stealing money from one group of people to pay another? If you steal money from the uneducated wal-mart worker to pay off another person's medical degree, how is that any better better than what the banksters do to us with their bailouts? Or what the other elites do to labor with their lower capital rates taxes?

Its too bad that only Trump so far has had the balls and ambition to provide any kind of solutions looking forward. Because (since it was Trump saying all this) all you can see is nationalism instead of his solution to the actual problem. A problem where middle class american's can't even manage to pay off student debt before they reach social security retirement age.

And while were on the subject of the Democrats NOT providing any solutions for middle class people moving forward, its also too bad Biden does not even have the balls to debate JFK jr. It is what you would call Democrat democracy where the incumbent president is automatically installed for another term. After all, it works good for Putin in Russia. If you like how your life and the country is going, its ok to let Biden sleep in his basement again during the next election. Because we know the Democrats know how to steal elections anyway.

These are all worthwhile questions to be asking on your part. But sadly they are also questions that will not be answered or looked into by any Democrats. Because Democrats are owned by the colleges today.

If it is not a professor or someone else actually teaching a student, they really aren't needed.

What's your solution to college debt?

You know, I freely admit my post was nothing more than mocking the video you posted, but it was just too easy of a lift to pass up.

But since you're apparently being serious, let me ask you this: Did you seriously see a solution presented anywhere in Trump's little speech? I know you watched it with rapt attention, couldn't wait to post it here and say "take that, libs!" but you missed the fact that there wasn't any substance in it at all.

Seriously, my breakdown of his "plan" was flippant, but (if I do say so myself) pretty fucking accurate. Because it wasn't a plan at al...just a series of words strung together with lots of bitching but nothing concrete. The only thing which might qualify as a solution is that Fragilego Mussolini wants to appoint some sort of oversight board to remake higher education into...something that doesn't make him so angry?

We've already seen a version of what he wants to do, by the way. When he was President all he did to address the public education system in this country was to appoint a person whose mission in life (aside from buying yachts) is to completely destroy the public education system and turn schools into a racket so she can buy even more yachts. Ole' Betsy Amway gave a pass to for-profit colleges that ripped off students by selling them an overpriced education that didn't do shit to get them a job in the real world.

Seriously, if you buried 40,000 dollars in a hole in the ground and forgot where you left it, you'd get about as much use from your "investment" as a degree from DeVry or Carrington College, but that's what Ms. DeVos wants our higher education system to look like! But wait...there's more! Before you get the chance to fork out money to Corinthian College for a useless degree, you've gotta get through primary school, and Betsy's plan for that?

Taxpayer supported for-profit private schools! See, public schools are "socialism," what with your tax dollars going to pay public teachers working in public buildings, but where's the profit in that? Conservatives want the tax dollars to go directly into the pockets of businesses who sell education to the highest bidder (totally NOT socialism!), because the most important thing is profit...with education being a distant second. Of course, tax money going into the pockets of private enterprise isn't going to do the whole job, so we have to give tax breaks to exclusive private schools so more affluent parents can have their kids go to a place with the word "Academy" in the name and where little Ashley won't have to sit next to a kid whose parents don't make enough to afford private school! It's a win-win!

We've already seen Trump's "vision" for education. It's a grift. And you watched that video and got suckered. I'd provide some suggestions for how we can move forward with a better system, but you'd likely dismiss it as "socialism."

p.s. I missed this part.

You know JFK Jr is dead, right?

Why would anyone take Mr Trump’s views in anything, let alone higher education, seriously?

BTW, the accreditation process in higher education is mostly a pointless Potemkin village effort that saps time, energy and resources to the functional equivalent of navel gazing instead of education and research.

Just out of curiosity, what do you think of incumbent presidents who don't debate other contenders in their party? I've done a little research and I might have some bad news for you.

I took one for the team and transcribed highlights of the rant:
A stable genius said:
... and I mean absolutely exploding. While academics have been obsessed with indoctrinating America's youth ...
The time has come to reclaim our once-great institutions from the radical left ...
... radical left ... .Marxist maniacs and lunatics ... defend Western civilization ... Marxist ... fined up to total endowment ... anti-American insanity

He would still post a better performance than F-Head did in his drug-addled debate back in ‘20.
