US President 2016 - the Great Horse Race

Careful, it looks as if you are all falling for your own propaganda.

Ever since the Republican Party was founded and Lincoln first ran for President, the rhetoric from the Democrats has been that Republicans are at best intellectually incurious and at worst downright stupid. Guess what, the Republicans know that is what you are going to tell the public, and have adapted a tactic to take advantage of that.

All they have to do is pretend to be just a little less intelligent than they actually are, and that causes you to underestimate them. Since you already believe you are so smart, it takes very little work on their part to make it happen. They don't need to be smarter than you to out-smart you, they just need to be smarter than you think they are. And they know this.

Anyway,who is Trump talking to?

Probably the executives at NBC.

Like it's non-celebrity predecessor did after six seasons, Celebrity Apprentice is getting a bit long in the tooth.

My guess is that this bid is a way to burnish the Trump brand in preparation for another show. Political Apprentice perhaps?

Whoever wins will have to clean up Obama's legacy of pandering to the Muslim Brotherhood and their offshoots. To stop the Islamafication of the US. And who better to do that than a Republican.

Even if Obama was doing that, the answer would still be "Anybody-fucking-else on the planet".

Finally some who says what we are all thinking.

WTF,is up with the repub violating ownership rights by using songs without permission?I thought ownership was sacred to them.

Oh if anyone cares Bobby Jindal threw his trilby into the ring yesterday.

:melodramatic:

Via a hilarious stalker video where his face can't be seen. The amateurishness of this year's crop of republicans never ceases to amaze me.

Bobby Jindal had slammed volcano monitoring as pork barrel early in Obama's Presidency, and I thought at the time that that might also be said of hurricane monitoring. He has recently claimed that some European cities have "no-go" zones due to Islamists.

As to all those Republican Presidential candidates, they can brag about having been a Presidential candidate, even if they don't get very far.

And they are rapidly making 'I was a republican presidential candidate' nothing to brag about.

The Daily Show did a hilarious bit last night about how stupid Jindal's video was.

You'd think that with all the money in politics, the least we could expect is decent production values for the most important ads of the campaigns.

Be careful yourself, lest you fall for your own propaganda.

Ever since the Libertarian Party was not founded by Ron Paul, they have done their best to distinguish themselves from the Republicans whom they vote for exclusively. They are seen as idiots and "morans" by the Republicans they worship, and are entirely taken in by those Republicans who have learned to pander to them, and claim to identify with the Libertarians while they go on doing the stupid things that made them stupid Republicans to begin with. This actually makes the Republicans relatively smart, while appearing to be appallingly stupid.

And Democrats know this, so they go on pretending that they think Republicans are stupider than they actually are, while knowing all along that Republicans are smarter than they act. So, the Republicans overestimate the underestimation of Democrats, and think themselves to be smarter than they are by acting dumber than they are. Since they think they are smarter than they are, they are actually dumber than they think, playing directly into the hands of the Dems, who then have less work to do to make them look as stupid as they actually are. The Dems are actually smarter than the Republicans, who are out-dumbing the Dems, and the Republicans get out-smarted by their own dumbness in the process.

Ever since the Libertarian Party was not founded by Ron Paul

What?

Republicans whom they vote for exclusively

What?

It makes sense in a way - someone who underinformed about the Libertarian Party that he thinks it was founded by Ron Paul would also think that we vote Republican.

Let us say, for example, that about 1% of Libertarians vote Democrat and 2% vote Republican. That means that twice as many vote Republican.

I've seen those polls before. They consist of "even though these people don't call themselves libertarians we will call them libertarians in order to prove a point." Then again, people think Rand Paul is libertarian, even though he explicitly denies it.

By the way, the data also shows that the party was founded by David Nolan and not Ron Paul.
