Well... it's Trump... again. #47, here we go.

Much of what you say is true, but the GOP, and Trump, have knowingly pushed the boundaries of law to the edge of their limits, and beyond. Do you expect the Left, and prosecutors on the Left, to let them continue to do so, without any pushback?? Just to lay down and die? Tactics and Strategy are always debatable, and should be.

Aledged criminals. Aledged illegals.
Not what bibly wrote.
But very obviously what bilby was referring to.

I am not sure why you feel that this level of hair-splitting is helping either your case, or your image.

Nobody here opposes the government defending its people against criminals, not does anyone oppose the deporting of people who have no right to be in the country.

But that's not what the Trump administration is doing. It is instead pretending to be doing those things, while actually dismantling due process and seeking to suspend habeus corpus; And just like the Nazis did in 1930s Germany, it is playing the "We just want to protect you from criminals and foreigners" card, in an (apparently very sucessful) effort to get the wider public to support its actions.

It is more than a little ironic that you understand the meaning and reference of my poem, but wish to dismiss its relevance to current events on a hair-splitting technicality.

First they came for the criminals, without due process and I did not speak out, because
Why do you want gangbangers and criminals to be allowed to remain in the USA?
Then they came for the immigrants without due process, and I did not speak out, because
People who enter the USA illegally are in fact here illegally, they broke the law. I don’t feel obliged to be polite to people who break the law.
Then they came for the Muslims, and I did not speak out, because
But to the left, Muslims get a pass. And even worse, anybody who disagrees gets labeled "racist" and even "Neo-Nazi".

Edited for the hard of thinking.

I have added in the bleeding bloody obvious implication that anyone should be able to grasp, simply by observing the actions of the Trump maladministration.

I do not agree that voters have the right to know about extramarital affairs of candidates.
Yet Republicans impeached a president because it. Maybe they gave democrats the idea.

If a candidate is standing on a "family values" platform, as many Republicans do, then if they are having an affair then the media does have a duty to report this. They (the candidate) have moved it from the private arena to the public because of their hypocrisy.
Bill Clinton had a right to privacy as he did not take this stance, and the actions of the Republicans were political and unethical.

Taking back a lot of Afghans in the final days of America's retreat from the W debacle in Afghanistan, was about one of the only decent things that happened with that occupation.
Why do you think taking in a bunch of poorly vetted Afghans was a good thing to do?
. If they helped us in Afghanistan, then yrs, duh.
Derec said:
Especially since almost all Afghans support the Sharia Law according to Pew?
Broadbrush much?
Derec said:
Why can't Islamic countries take them in? Why does it always have to be the West?
Because they helped us in Afghanistan.

One wonders if Joe Biden or Kamala Harris had engaged in extra-marital affairs, if Republicans would have kept it to themselves on the grounds that voters don't have the right to know about all that.

Well it's not like the GOP re-branded themselves as the "Party of Family Values" in the 1990s to differentiate themselves from the party of "OMG he cheated on his WIFE!!!" Bill Clinton.

Perish the thought...

It is also worth remembering that when their own "rising star" was caught having an extramarital affair, the Democrats tossed John Edwards aside like a live grenade.

I do not agree that voters have the right to know about extramarital affairs of candidates.
When one person holds the lives of an entire nation in their hands, character matters. In these regards, taking and keeping vows of a marriage is not unlike taking and keeping an oath of office. That person is relied upon to go beyond some bare minimum to another. They are expected to perform to the best of their ability. With such great power, every aspect of who the candidate is should be made available to the public prior to voting. Promises of a candidate mean fuck all if we find out later the individual is not to be trusted.
But in the "here we go again" category, we've got 77,284,118 people to blame.

You mean other than we made promises and these people fulfilled their side of the deal at the literal risk of their and their family's lives? They helped keep our military safer.
Especially since almost all Afghans support the Sharia Law according to Pew?
If that was a disqualifying characteristic, they shouldn't have been promised anything by the US.
Why can't Islamic countries take them in? Why does it always have to be the West?
Because the Islamic countries didn't make the promises that the US made.

Trump again - India Pakistan war.
All that happened was that Ishaq Dar, the Pakistan Foreign Minister, contacted Marco Rubio and Rubio contacted the Indian Foreign Minister, Jaishankar, that Pakistan wants a cease-fire. Jaishankar told Rubio that Pakistan Director General of Military Operations should talk to his Indian counterpart.
And Trump jumped in. "I stopped a nuclear was otherwise millions would have been dead. I said it you don't stop, we don't trade with you. Etc."

Art of the deal, baby!!!

And due process is a fundamental part of law enforcement.
No disagreement here.
My issues was with bilby's "first they came after the criminals", as if that isn't something every government is supposed to do.
Yet, you disparage the gov’t going after Trump.
SCOOOOOOOOOOORE!!!!!!!
Yeah, don't be dissing Derec's "guy".
"IF YOU GONNA PILLORY
MAKE SURE IT'S HILLARY"

(Probably needs updating, but the spirit remains.)

Trump overs for a belly scratch (with happy ending?) and then removes sanctions on Syria after Saudi Arabia requested it.

I get that US wants to get Syria into a position of stabilization so as to minimize power vacuums where the next ISIS can be born, but Trump seems to be doing this more as a favor for Saudi Arabia than for American or Western interests.

So this is a head-scratcher. Trump appointed Cameron Hamilton to acting head of FEMA. Hamilton says that he does not think that FEMA should be dismantled and Trump fires him.

I believe that FEMA should not be dismantled but what kind of vetting went on that Trump would hire someone and then nearly immediately fire him for not agreeing with Trump.

And what's this bullshit spewed from the Trump mouth?

Trump and Noem have repeatedly criticized FEMA as partisan, inefficient, and unnecessary. The administration has claimed FEMA uses “woke” ideologies to appropriate funds.

They are such shits.

He picked someone to destroy the agency. They refused to destroy the agency, they got fired. What's strange here?

Make no mistake. This isn't just about illegal immigrants. Without Due Process and habeas corpus, what's to prevent Trump from imprisoning and deporting US citizens?
Nothing. Just because the concentration camps aren't in the US doesn't make them not real.

And note:

Doesn't look too bad on the surface...

including removal, prosecution, incarceration, and fines as consistent with applicable law for immigration-related crimes; the garnishment of wages; and the confiscation of savings and personal property, including homes and vehicles.

In other words, deport his enemies and take their assets.
