It would almost certainly be cheaper, easier, and better to scrap each carrier and design and build a new one from scratch; The Electro-magnetic vs Steam catapult decision affects almost every part of the ship.

It's like deciding to change your mind about whether to use a steel or a timber frame for your house, after construction has finished - replacing the frame, while keeping everything else, is not only gonna cost far more than demolishing the lot and starting again, but will also result in a house that shows the scars of the refit everywhere.

While I’ve been out there in the Gulf for this long it was not during a hot war, Iraq had collapsed by this time. Even then, flight ops were 23 hours a day. And at least we got to stop in for liberty in the sandbox in Dubai.
As for the story of the Lincoln beyond that, I’d like to know to what extent morale is an issue. With 5,000 people, there’s always going to be issues, maybe even a suicide attempt. It’s a tough job. It’s not like working at the post office.

If I had to pick a foxhole, I’d want Trump, J.D. Vance, Marco Rubio, and Elon Musk right there with me. Whatever people think of them, I respect the fight, the grit, and the belief that America is worth defending.That’s what matters to me.
