What comes next after the Trump win?

Best case scenario is he gets all the cases dropped against him, puts a few of his rivals in jail, and makes a few billion on the office, Russia holds of on Poland invasion, China holds off on Taiwan invasion, and he makes a half hearted attempt to deport but we get a repeat of the deportation attempt his first term, but otherwise he rides off into the sunset.

I'm putting 10% odds on our democracy pretty much being lost. Way too high for my comfort but not so high that it is impossible to recover.

*All the big money has shifted strongly towards Trump. He got all the demos he needed. I'm calling the election for him.

The NY Times has meter they use to show the results and likelihood of the result. It was dead on in 2020. This is monitoring returns county by county, precinct by precinct and the areas where the red votes are and blue votes are. Yes, things can happen, but it is looking bad.

What happens next? Depends on if the GOP kill the filibuster in the Senate. I mean, why the heck not? They mocked the pandemic, one million died. Who cares. Sent US troops to die in Iraq for weapons that didn't exist. Meh... they'll get power back shortly. All the early results from PA are not good. NYT forecast is in alignment with the betting markets. Harris may even lose the popular vote. We need a miracle at this point.

Trump's accountants were supposed to have declared the legal expense of hiding an extramarital affair with an NDA (which is legal) by declaring it as a campaign expense and listing the reason. Haha. It was a stretch...but in 86% democratic nyc, it passed the test.

One for each accounting entry and written check to the lawyer who paid the initial expense. (And the lawyer who testified against Trump, after going to jail on a totally separate scheme trying to sell cab medallions... actually stole from Trump -double the money!)

I was more concerned of your use of the words "singularly tailoured". To me that sounds like there was a crafting of charges to achieve a particular aim viz. get Trump on something. Anything.
