I'm listening to my 4th Doc Severinsen album. The current one is called Swingin' the Blues. The man is amazing. And, at age 98, he still sometimes plays in public. We went to a concert of his way back in the early 80s with a different band and at least half of the people walked out because they were expecting him to play with The Tonight Show Band. We loved it.

Louis Armstrong was favorite of my preteen daughter. Maybe I'll send my granddaughter Hello, Dolly! and tell her to play it for Mama.

Saw Gary in concert. I don't remember who he opened for. 3 piece band, no backup singers. Two guys one either side of the stage with stacks of keyboard synths and the drummer in the middle. That's really about all I remember of it.
