I am no fan of Mr Sanders, but who cares about one extremely trivial incident from almost 50 years ago.

True but I’ve heard him referred to as a dead beat dad numerous times and there have been references to his lack of employment history outside of serving in various political offices. This is just another angle to that story. Basically Sanders is seen as a front runner so people will try to dig up whatever muck they can on him.

I actually just read a snopes article that says Sanders was employed in many positions prior to his political career. He was "working as an aide at a psychiatric hospital, as a Head Start preschool teacher, as a carpenter, and as a freelance writer for local publications" He also ran a company that created and marketed film strips on the history of Vermont to Vermont schools.

As well they should.

You're only telling half the story. Sanders wasn't a member of the commune. He was working as a reporter interviewing members of the commune. He was asked to leave because members wanted to spend more time discussing politics with Sanders than doing their duties.

I saw conservatives pushing a story that once "Bernie got kicked out of a socialist commune for being too lazy." Intrigued by this I looked it up

Sounds to me like "Bernie can do no wrong" defense.

Neither do your links include sources. No one in historical positions on Sanders have ever stated he was a member of any commune although he was a member of a kibbutz in Israel for a time.

First, it was 50 years ago-people can change a lot over 50 years ago.

I’m not disagreeing that it’s a trivial matter (and possibly not the whole story) or that people can change a lit in 50 years.

I am disagreeing that Sanders has changed in any fundamental way in the last 50 years. Or 60 or 70 years for that matter. I don’t think that people really change very much—not without a lot of introspection and desire to change and putting in a lot of work. People can overcome bad habits or adopt more. They can become more open or more closed off, more affectionate or colder. But the essence of who you are: I don’t think that really changes.

BTW, the Bernie bros are always talking about how long he’s held his ideals. Longer than anybody alive!

What scares me about the Bernie Bros' is that when someone makes a claim such as, "Bernie said a woman can't win President" they say, "BERNIE NEVER SAID THAT!!!!" as if Bernie is some god that can never do any wrong. He voted for wars and signed controversial bills and the Bernie Bros' defend him for that.

The ironic thing is that they claim to hate Trump supporters who say Trump can do no wrong, then they do the same thing with Bernie. It certainly is comical.

Wasn't McCabe the guy that lied about the leak that helped DONALD TRUMP win the election?
