Bidengate Breaks... err... down

It is to the point now where the right wing is assaulting people for doing what they should do. Treating a family member with compassion who is struggling is now - according to Hannity and our own little right wing pundit - a bad thing. Loving and worrying about your children is for "liberal snowflakes."
I don't think Hannity is aware of his audience. Pretty certain most of them have at least one relative struggling with opioid addiction.

I mean, it’s pretty much par for the course for republicans to accuse the democrats of whatever crimes and misdemeanours they themselves are committing, but really, to make such an unfounded accusation, while being oblivious to the perfection with which it describes Biden’s predecessor, is beyond hypocritical, and veering sharply into the pathological.
Like I said, it's all TSwizzle has left. Take it away from him and I'd be genuinely concerned how he would cope.
I mean he could just stay exactly the same, face the other direction, and actually not be wrong...

Is TSwizzle OK? I expected him to rage-boner-post a plethora of Daily Mail articles about Hunter's laptop now the Republicans have Congress

I think he's been tied up trying to get Taylor Swift tickets.

Nah, he's busy whinging about public health initiatives that his county health department are recommending, to keep him and his family and friends alive. Those bastards.

Finally;

CBS has finally admitted Hunter Biden's laptop is real – 20 months after DailyMail.com authenticated its contents with top experts.
When files from the laptop were published before the 2020 presidential election, 60 Minutes host Lesley Stahl insisted in an interview with Donald Trump that the contents couldn't be verified. The network was among a wide range of left-leaning outlets such as the New York Times and MSNBC who doubted the authenticity as the Biden administration insisted it was Russian disinformation.

The existence of the laptop and the authenticity of files isn't the same thing at all.

Even I, remarkably ill-informed about computer stuff, knows that much.
Tom

Not sure what you are asking but CBS have stated that the contents of the laptop are genuine/authentic.
It is not possible for CBS to back up that assertion. Not possible.

Honestly, I doubt that they actually made it, because it's so obviously impossible for anyone there to know where that laptop was before it became news.

Daily Mail

The Daily Mail is famous for pushing rightwing conspiracy theories, including especially the Hunter Biden laptop controversy. They offer nothing new other than this very recent CBS Mornings attempted revival of the story. That story contains an analysis by yet another cybersecurity expert, Mark Landerman, who disagrees with past experts, claiming that he has a "more pristine copy" of the laptop drive. He is vague about why he thinks the content proves Hunter Biden was the original owner, and the CBS report seems to have missed a great deal of background to the story that can be found on Wikipedia's

 Hunter Biden laptop controversy

For example, they simply restate the original claim that Hunter Biden himself dropped off the laptop, ignoring the fact that the rightwing owner of the laptop repair shop now claims he isn't sure who dropped it off because of his impaired vision disability. Mark Lanterman says he found no evidence of past tampering with the drive, nor does he explain where he got his allegedly "pristine copy" of the data. However, he does claim that nobody paid him to do his analysis. He is the CEO of his own cybersecurity business, so I suppose he will get a lot of business from the CBS story to make up for him sacrificing his time to do the analysis.

What you don't seem to understand is that it can be both.

Yes, there's an image of his laptop drive. But we have absolutely zero evidence it wasn't tampered with.

But what do you expect from the Daily Heil?

But how would you know that an image hasn't been tampered with? There are only two ways to know this:

1) Compare it to the real thing.

2) A trusted digital signature on the image.

We have neither of these and thus it is impossible to prove it hasn't been tampered with. The only way we could prove it was tampered with is if someone was stupid in doing so.

Is it indeed? The Daily Mail is famous for many things but I can’t say that I’ve ever heard they are famous for pushing right wing conspiracy theories.

including especially the Hunter Biden laptop controversy.

So you think this laptop is a right wing conspiracy? Or do you think it’s “Russian misinformation” and the FBI and the MSM and social media companies were correct to suppress the story?

So you think this laptop is a right wing conspiracy?
Replace conspiracy with fabrication and you've got it. I remember asking Trausti about it and not getting a satisfactory answer. No one has been arrested or even charged. No assets have been seized and this crap started when Trump was still President. For right wingers this is the new "Obama is a Muslim" bullshit where it's all speculative and Q-tards jerking each other off into a frenzy.

It depends on who you ask. Obviously, rightwing conspiracy theorists wouldn't see it that way, but...

And they were among the first to push the Hunter Biden laptop conspiracy theory. This is just a follow-up in the same vein.

I do not believe that the FBI or the MSM have suppressed the story. The very news story that the Daily Mail cites here is from the MSM, although CBS is considered center-right on the political bias spectrum. AFAICT, the claim that Russians had a hand in doctoring the laptop is largely speculation, although people like Giuliani, who have been connected to it in news stories, have had known contact with Russian intelligence operatives. That's why such speculation is rampant, but it remains unproven so far. The laptop itself has no clear chain of possession, and Russian propaganda outlets such as RT are doing all they can to push the conspiracy theory.

Hunter Biden himself admits to the possibility that the laptop in question could have once been in his possession, but he has no idea where it came from. He denies that he delivered it to that shop in Maryland for repair. If he didn't, that could explain why he never paid for the $85 repair job. The government's own investigation of the laptop suggested that the laptop had been accessed by a lot of people besides Hunter Biden. This latest CBS piece just quotes another so-called expert who says he couldn't find the evidence that others claim to have found.

Do you think that it's Russian misinformation and a MSM suppression that no one is investigating the Ivanka and Jarrod getting $755 million during Trump's presidency? Secondly, it's been alleged that Barron received favorable treatment at his boarding school; however, ZERO MSM investigation. Why aren't these dastardly deeds being investigated??

So you think this laptop is a right wing conspiracy?
The laptop itself isn't important. It's only significance is the murky chain of possession. Right wing conspiracy theorists refer to the laptop as though it's the issue, when it isn't. It's the files that matter.

Here's two broad outlines of possible scenarios.
A) Hunter had a laptop full of compromising files that were hugely damaging to Joe Biden as well as himself. He dropped it off with some strangers then forgot about it.

B) Hunter had a laptop he rarely used. It had nothing but boring personal stuff on it. Somebody(s) stole it, hacked it, added a bunch of lies to it, then used the lies for all kinds of nefarious purposes.

Of those two scenarios which do you find more plausible? Biden's enemies want you to believe A). I find it hard to believe that any reasonably critically thinking person could really see A) as the more plausible of the two. I certainly don't.
