Sadly, I also live in a very conservative gerrymandered district in Georgia and the Trump endorsed idiot is sure to win. It surprises me that a Democrat has had the courage to run in these two districts as they never have a chance of winning. This year, there were actually two who are running as Dems. And, each Republican candidate gets worse. The last two weren't nearly as bad as the one who is running now. It seems as if all of Georgia's Republicans have gone MAGA mad. My town is mixed politically, but my district stretches out to many small towns and rural areas. The further out one drives, the more MAGA and God signs one sees. 😥

Firebrand Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Thursday blamed America's evils on God's "punishment" for "murdering babies" and separately said she doesn't want to give the Federal Emergency Management Agency "a damn penny" despite the agency's desperate plea that it does not have enough funding to make it through this hurricane season.


FEMA is being stretched as it continues to respond to the aftermath of the deadly Hurricane Helene, delivering food, water, generators and other vital supplies, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told reporters Wednesday, according to The Associated Press.

The massive storm barrelled into the Southeast and flooded multiple towns, killing more than 160 people.

At a town hall on Thursday, Greene addressed FEMA's plea when asked by a constituent, and separately said the country "feels like it is under judgment" since the Roe v. Wade ruling in 1983.

In response to a submitted question about FEMA seeking more hurricane funds, Greene said: "Hmm, $640 million spent on illegals. I'm not giving them a damn penny!"

She's out even though she says she would have won.

 
MTG may be one of the dumbest people in Congress, but she understands the value of a bird in the hand. She can't run for the House and the Senate at the same time. Running for a new office while retaining the old one is a privilege afforded to Senators whose six year term doesn't align with the President's four year term.

If she really thought she had a chance of winning, she would have already started campaigning. She is safe in her red clay corner of the state where the largest city is less than 40,000 people. A campaign that would force her to visit Atlanta Metro area, where more than half of Georgians live, is not a fight that even Marjorie thinks is a bad idea.
 
Oh man... the one thing the GOP has gifted the Democrats with, has been the gift of Kari Lakes and Christine O'Donnell and Todd Akins and Herschel Walkers. The GOP would likely have changed a lot more in America Government if it hadn't been for the gift of dreadfully poor US Senate candidates. Sadly, they appear to have caught on... at least in Georgia.
