Split New York City Mayoral Race

To notify a split thread.
It's not the issue of the content. It's the issue that Qatari money comes with Qatari influence.
Assuming your premise is true (a dubious assumption), what do you think "Qatari influence" on Mamdani's mother is going to possibly accomplish?

How would you react if you had learned that Moscow funded the movies?
I'd ask the following question: what do you think "Russian influence" on Mamdani's mother is going to possibly accomplish?

You are still not addressing the issue, just trying to pretend it's irrelevant. Nor are you addressing the reframed issue of what if it was Moscow?

We don't know the details. That doesn't mean it's not highly suspect.
I am addressing the “issue”. You are not. I’ll ask a third time. Why is it highly suspect?
Because Qatari money comes with strings. They're doing it for influence, not from the goodness of their hearts.
You know this because….? And what strings?
You're still evading. Substitute "Moscow" for "Qatari" and evaluate it.

You are the one evading. I asked “what strings” twice. No answer.

And when you previously pulled the substitute Moscow for Qatar evasion in post #335, I responded with what one would expect Mamdani’s mother to accomplish (i.e. what string). You responded I was not addressing the issue.

As far as I can tell, the issue is your paranoia over Qatari influence to some unspecified end that you are unable to explain.

We don't know exactly what they expect for their money. I'm simply comparing it to another situation with taking money from a hostile power.

In other words, paranoia.

The detales don't matter. ANY influence they have to bribe for can not be good for us. Bribery is alwas a red flag.
How is funding documentaries about Qatari pearl divers or Afghani refugees to the mother of a NYC councilman a bribe?

Is that sarcasm? Who's gonna watch such bullshit?

(If that IS sarcasm, sorry I'm so dense.)
A documentary about pearl divers could be interesting. Especially if they are free diving.

Damn, one less spoiler.
Unfortunately, this is too little, too late. Unfortunately, Zohran "end goal of seizing the means of production" Mamdani is still a shoo-in for mayor of NYC.
The only thing actually going well for the Democrats right now is that mayor race. Without any kind of influence on the federal government, it's down to whatever independence the cities can hold on to in the face of government suppression of ideas and autnomous policies.

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump
Self proclaimed New York City Communist, Zohran Mamdani, who is running for Mayor, will prove to be one of the best things to ever happen to our great Republican Party.

He is going to have problems with Washington like no Mayor in the history of our once great City. Remember, he needs the money from me, as President, in order to fulfill all of his FAKE Communist promises. He won't be getting any of it, so what's the point of voting for him? This ideology has failed, always, for thousands of years. It will fail again, and that's guaranteed! President DJT

Why are you culture shaming?
For one, not all cultures are equivalent. Shoveling rice into your maw with your bare hands is not necessary when utensils are widely available.
An American could also eat all of the following foods with utensils, which are widely available in the States, but they instead shovel these into their maws:

Hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, popcorn, pizza, fried chicken, tacos, sandwiches, and more

Seems like some people want to denigrate members of other cultures who happen to eat other types of foods with their hands.

Edited to add: sorry for jumping in on a post from many pages ago. If the conversation has moved on feel free to ignore me.
