Murder Spree in America continues

Well....
  • the Trump announcement on splitting off the vaccines, pushing and legitimizing the bogus "danger" of vaccines.
  • All of the recent defense of Kirk's racist statements
  • The have more babies movement

MAGA wants to get back to those days. Rubella, racism, rubber baby buggy bumpers for all women, and all.
Source?
Why, sure.
A good source of rubella is RFK Jr. Just ask Samoans about 2019.
A good source of racism, going back decades, is Trump. No less a figure than Paul Ryan, after hearing Trump's comments on Judge Curiel. called them "the textbook definition of a racist comment."
A good source of rubber etc. is our friend J.D.: "We're effectively run by childless cat ladies, who are miserable in their own lives."

I’d like to correct what I see as a misconception. Trump supporters are not necessarily conservative (certainly not in the traditional sense).
Many are conservative by the definition I learned in high school: A conservative is someone who wishes to either maintain the status quo or return to a period of time in the past.

Current conservatives wish to return to somewhere between the 1930’s and the 1950’s, when women, colored folks and queers all knew their places and did not complain about it ( they think.) Of course the more radical conservatives would like to return to the 1850’s or earlier. They are somewhat flexible about the melanin levels of ‘the help.’

What is this "conservatism" of which we speak? It seems to me that what constitutes liberal or conservative in political discourse is highly contextual. Right now, anything Trump says is "conservative", because he is the figurehead of the conservative party, and legislators and voters alike who are in the conservative faction will follow wherever he leads.

Some people who suffer from severe combat related PTSD suffer from violent tendencies, while others suffer from guilt. While I could be wrong, I wouldn't be surprised if his combat experience messed up his mind and made him have violent tendencies. Not everything is political, so let's not sound as crazy as the other side. PTSD can make a person crack. Plus his hatred of Mormons sounds pretty nuts, so perhaps he had some underlying mental issues regardless if they were related to his combat experience or something else.
Another possibility: traumatic brain injury from close encounters with explosives or even heavy weapons. Such things not only harm your hearing. We see the same thing with combat sports, and even in handegg players. Banging the head around too much does damage.

Nice. Now try actual sources.

It is too early to know for certain, but it seems likely this shooting was completepy needless and the loss of life pretty damn unnecessary. And nothing with be done about it other than maybe arresting someone and jail and stuff.

Fuck, mass murder in the US today is nothing more than a roughing the passer penalty.

I wonder why this was not mentioned yet? Birthday party shooting, over Thanksgiving weekend. Apparently no suspects are in custody.

"An armed society is a polite society." Uhh....yeah.
I take it you haven't been here long?
Only 21 years.

Ha!

But seriously, as far as I know there are no suspects as of yet. I see most shootings get a mention, and this is particularly horrible because three children were killed, and several more injured. Has it just been overlooked, or intentionally not mentioned? This seems like big news, and particularly relevant to this thread.

Many are conservative by the definition I learned in high school: A conservative is someone who wishes to either maintain the status quo or return to a period of time in the past.
Alternatively a conservative is someone who wishes to keep what is good and works and change what is not good and/or not working.

Which of course is nothing like Trumpian conservatism or what is misleading called conservatism in much of the USA.

Shorthand version of Burkean conservatism.

That’s not a definition of conservative that I’m familiar with. While there are some who wish to tear down everything and start over, I think most of us see Musk and his Doge boys as sociopaths. Most rational people want to keep what works ( for them) and change what isn’t working. Can be applied equally to classic( non-Trumpism) conservative and progressive thinking.
