How should west respond to Russian invasion of Ukraine?

Lukashenka won't be expecting an invite to Putin's birthday party, but he's probably betting on there not being another one.
I suspect the situation is similar to current Washington DC. Smart people won't go there unless they're going to stick their tongues up Fearless Leaders butt.
Tom

No, not both sides. We don't go around EU/Canada/South America and give money to america haters.
You are not aware of your government giving money to America-haters. Doesn't mean it's not happening.
I am not aware that you are not a pedophile.....
It certainly used to happen--note how there used to be a bunch of Marxist terror groups around the world, they basically disappeared after your old government collapsed and got out of the business of funding them.
Nope, we never funded Any Marxist groups anywhere. In fact, Soviet Union starting with Stalin himself was strongly opposing them.
Sigh. Soviet funding of Australian Communist Party

Why should not have they? Marxism!=Communism
You fucking invaded Russia after Russian Revolution. US still has communist party, so does UK, not to mention Italy.
why is it a big deal for you? It was 100 years ago
Bandera died 87 years ago. Why is it such a big deal to you?
You fucking fund terrorists today, literal terrorists. In Chechnya, In Syria, In China too. In Ukraine.
And your cluelessness is mind boggling. "Marxism" in western societies is different from communism.
It's associated with terrorism.
So the question was about marxist groups not communists which are still legal and funding them was legal too.

Zelenskyy gave Lukashenka seven days to shut down the drone signal repeater stations in Belarus and Lukashenka said, "Right away, Boss."
That's a lie.
That's the translation into English, but the repeaters were turned off before the deadline and the Gazpromneft refinery is still smoking. That's the one you said suffered minor damage.

Putin should know, when you can't keep your little bitch safe, he'll find a new Daddy.
Nope they were not turned off. NarcoFuhrer said they were turned off Moreover, the repeaters were not the only demand from Mr Bean on crack. He demanded Belarus to cut ALL economic activity with Russia. :)
Now about these repeaters, they are on during russian drone attacks. So Mr. Bean on crack actually demanded dismantling them.
In short, Lukashenko told Mr. Bean on Crack to fuck off.

Ask that question to poles. The fact is, it's regime in Kiev who resurected Bandera, nor russians or poles.

Lukashenko is not as dumb as you think. He knows that he is stuck with Russia for better or worse.

Speaking of lying. It was determined that ukro-regime in its recent drone attacks on Moscow used drones armed with ...... extra fuel. Fucking clowns know damn well that damage they cause is pretty inconsequential, but if they load it with fuel, resulting propaganda footage looks much better.
You are right, that's some pretty obvious lying. The damage is obviously quite severe. And bringing extra fuel to a refinery, pumping station, or fuel storage area would be pointless - those things are full of fuel already, any extra fuel in the drones would make zero difference to the resulting footage of a burning fuel facility.

To imagine that it would is incredibly naïve, but that's Russians for you - they will believe any old horseshit rather than admit that they are being beaten.
What a stupid thing for you to say.
Your ukro-scam brings extra-fuel not to to a refinery. It brings it in case it gets intercepted before reaching it. which is overwhelming majority of drones. In that case extra fuel provides great picture.
How does this extra fuel thing actually work? The fuel tank is already designed to fit where it fits. Or do they add a drop tank? If so, why are there no photos or videos of such a contraption?
I believe the point is the Ukrainians had to reduce the explosive payload and replace it with fuel, resulting in a drone which barely stings when it pierces the side of a pressure vessel filled with flammable vapors.
For fuck's sake. Read your own damn press. Narcofuhrer wanted to impress your Orange. That's why all this Hollywood effects.

The repeaters are off and there's no sign of them being turned back on.

I know you have to say what you've been told to say, but it's plain to see Belarus cannot defend itself against any kind of air attack. Ukraine has had plenty of time to locate all targets of any value in Belarus. Lukashenka knows that Putin can't protect his own refineries from Ukraine, so there's no chance Russia can help Belarus. Lukashenka lost the last elections and Putin kept him in power. I'm sure he was grateful for that, but gratitude goes only so far. Lukashenka knows he can't handle street protests and he can't expect help from Putin. Putin is busy having a Pansir installed in his bathroom.

You of all people should understand Lukashenka's situation. It won't be long before someone comes to you and says, "New orders. Putin was a madman and this was all his fault." The switch won't be a problem.

At least Lukashenka can say he's keeping the peace. It makes no sense he would heap more trouble upon himself for Russia's sake.

Lukashenka needs his army to insure he stays in power. He knows there's 2 ways he can lose his army. The first is to send them into combat alongside the Russian Canonfoddersky brigade. They would last a day. The second is to have valid Russian military targets inside Belarus. Ukraine has tolerated Russian sanctuary in Belarus because there was nothing they could do about. Times have changed Lukashenka knows it. Now that Lukashenka has publicly admitted he cannot defend Belarus against Ukrainian drones, he doesn't dare do anything to provoke a strike. The average Belarusian is just happy to not be in Ukraine or Russia. It might be the dry dirt farm of Europe, but it's not on fire. That's all Lukashenka can offer his people. If he loses that, he loses all.

Speaking of lying. It was determined that ukro-regime in its recent drone attacks on Moscow used drones armed with ...... extra fuel. Fucking clowns know damn well that damage they cause is pretty inconsequential, but if they load it with fuel, resulting propaganda footage looks much better.
Long range drones have fuel. And any weapon that burns fuel as it goes but doesn't go to it's maximum range will have leftover fuel when it hits. The reality is explosives tend to not look like very much when they go boom, but fuel does. Hollywood "bombs" are a little bit of explosive and a lot of gasoline. Thus I would expect the biggest visible effect from a drone being the remaining fuel going up. (Assuming it doesn't hit something that itself goes up.)

A drone which has not yet reached it's target basically by definition must be carrying "extra" fuel. And if you set that off (it's on a one-way mission, they aren't going to put the fire protection in that they would in a manned aircraft) it's probably going to look like a lot more boom than whatever you shot it down with. Fire is a slow release of energy, whatever you're shooting will be designed to release its energy very quickly.

Ukraine being able to hit Moscow any time it wants is yet another demonstration of Putin and his cronies' shocking ineptitude. What a symbol of empty headed decision making not even rivaled by our own shitgibbon.

I would be surprised if a drop tank setup existed. Flying things have a maximum takeoff weight. (And very often a max landing weight that's considerably less.) I would expect a weapon drone to be configured very close to it's maximum takeoff weight. Nothing is gained in engineering it for less. Thus why would we expect it to be able to carry a drop tank?? It's not like the world of rockets where you can to some extent put something smaller on top to make it go faster/farther. (And even then there are limits--Falcon Heavy reaches max weight before reaching the maximum it can put in low orbit.)

You don't listen, do you?
Your nazis literally loaded their droned with fuel in order to create illusion of a bigger explosion.

Iran utterly destroyed US bases in ME. What symbol is that?
The fact is, no air defense is perfect. Especially against small slow an low flying planes.
having said that. Terrorist regime in Kiev is launching hundreds of drones in order to generate few hits.

Nobody can. Especially...... Ukraine.

Actually Lukashenko is quite competent with handling color revolutions.

Lukashenko is fine.
Ukraine cannot do anything except to launch tiny drones into Russia, where 90% gets shot down.
It's a big nuisance, nothing more.

EU regimes understand that situation on the battlefield in Ukraine is catastrophic and and they put everything on terror attacks inside Russia. They need to exaggerate the effect of these attacks in order to paint Russian government as incompetent and weak and then of course regime change Putin, does not matter with who, as long as that disrupts the war efforts.
I and a lot of people in Russia, including government (other than Putin) think that our response to these terror atatcks was underwhelming to say the least. I think we need to exterminate Ukrainina government officials, including Elensky himself. This is absolute minimum of what we should be doing.
After that, we need to escalate with Baltic states and then hit targets in Germany.

Putin is too careful, and he does not understand that it is painted as weakness by the Western Media.
And I have to agree with pro-russian western observers that russian government loses propaganda war.
Putin as a classical example of Dunning-Krugger effect where he overestimates intelligence of the other side. Your side are idiots.
I mean look at yourself, you are idiots, I have to explain everything million time, and you keep parroting CNN and FoxNews.
