The Race For 2024

When crazy person A says crazy person B said a crazy thing... I'm just going make popcorn and wait to see what flavor of crazy wins the day.

Over 77 million Americans conspired to put Donald Trump in office. Elon Musk helped to convince them to do something that stupid. If Musk could have cheated to get that result, I have no doubt that he would have. He just didn't need to.

I'm pretty certain he was involved with micro-targeting ads to particular minorities in NC and MI.

True, but is it cheating when politicians exploit social vulnerabilities such as race, gender, and national origin? It's disgusting, but that is a large part of what helps Republicans motivate voters. Democrats don't always appeal to the better side of human nature either, but these are forms of politicking that I do not consider cheating or illegal. Racial gerrymandering used to be illegal, but the Republican Supreme Court has made it quasi-legal, if a Republican legislature can claim that their election redistricting designed to disenfranchise African Americans is really only designed to disenfranchise likely Democratic voters. Racial gerrymandering was always political gerrymandering, but one can simply relabel it as purely partisan politics to get around the problem. Tactics designed to undermine raw vote counts by changing or discarding votes that people cast is a different category of cheating and blatantly illegal.

"We are not robbing African Americans of their rights. We are robbing all Americans of their rights, so don't try to make out that we are somehow the bad guys", is not the killer moral stance many in the GOP seem to imagine it to be.
Pay heed to the dangerous stupidity of trumpsuckers.

See it's not racism, its just generalized misanthropy that has the predictably has the exact same effect as racism every time. The difference is, being called racists makes them feel bad. Being accused of cheating? Just makes them feel like they're winning. They treat politics like it's the stock market: Winners cheat. Losers whine.

I agree with much of what you say, although I would have called racism "targeted misanthropy". The Roberts Supreme Court has specialized in a kind of rhetorical shell game when it comes to racial discrimination, which they assert has largely disappeared. Political gerrymandering turns out to be the shell under which you ought to find the "racism" pea. Play that game with them, and you are going to lose almost every time.

lol, yeah unelectable Brandon was replaced by unelectable cackling Kamala and out come the conspiracy theories :hysterical:

She lost every.single.swing.state :hysterical:

I'd say they have used a rhetorical shell game with most of their antagonism against settled law.

Heck, their Presidential immunity finding in a much less broad case was their finding in which they wouldn't touch what Trump did with a 100 yard pole.

Nah, no conspiracy needed. The stupid part was the democrats leaving Brandon in the race for so long and then foisting the airhead Kamala Harris and Tampon Tim onto the voters.

Pretty much on point. The election turned out closer than I expected. Kami probably would have won if given a few more months of run-up, and certainly would have won if a fraction of the mindless Rumpsuckers who voted Trump had had any idea how they were about to be stabbed in the back.

More to go point, if the Democrats had turned out to vote for Harris she'd be president right now. But enough Democrats decided to vote "whoever wins" to put Trump in the White House. Those are mainly people who are too busy to vote.

Or, as I contend, the electorate was not sufficiently motivated (the politically correct word for “pummeled into submission”) by months of relentless saturation advertising. Had there been a normal candidate selection process followed by those months of badgering, I believe we would currently not be at war in Iran, the oval office wouldn’t look like a whorehouse, the East Wing would remain, the reflecting pool would not be headlines every day, Trump would be in prison* and the treasury would be trillions fatter.

Those people are not too busy to vote. They are too lazy or foolish.

They are the same sort of people who if given 24x7 shopping will say they are too busy to shop.

You forgot the stupid tariffs.
My wife has wasted so much time with the bloody tariffs changes to the US.
Every time she get an order from the US she feels like telling them to get stuffed (not a good way to make money though).

Mea culpa! Random tariffs taught Stephen Miller how they could enrich all their donors with stock tips, and they’ve been manipulating markets ever since. Now they’re selling memberships to a limited set of insider tips for $100k/month. Straight up open air corruption and theft.

You are forgiven

I think they were too stupid or too apathetic to vote. I'm taking about all the Democrats who didn't vote in 2024, including in my own state where we have 3 full weeks to vote and there is never more than a fairly short line if you vote early, which includes at least one or two weekends, not to mention that you can vote by mail without a reason, something the psychopathic, narcissistic demented person in the WH wants to end! Fuck him and the horse he rode in on or was it the escalator he rode down on?

How fucking stupid were all the people who voted for Trump or avoided the election because they let their desire for perfection stand in the way of progress!!!!!

Then there are all the idiots who never vote in the midterms. I hope we can get them to wise up, including a few of the people where I do volunteer work who have told me they are too old to vote, despite the fact that some are younger than I am and one is only about 5 years older than me and they would all vote for the Democrats if they would vote. I'd be happy to drive them to the polls if they were willing and I'd help the blind guy vote or ask someone who works at the polls to assist us so they see I'm helping him vote for his choice.

At least more younger people are voting compared to when I was still working and could never convince any of them to vote until one finally did when Obama ran. Still, a young man I met in Indy has never voted but he promised me he'd start. Hope he meant it. It would help if we more experienced people would get out and talk to people about the importance of voting in every fucking single election. If everyone would vote, we'd have a better president, which means most any Democrat other than the demented con artist we have now. End of rant.
