The Race For 2024

Your post highlights above was rude and hateful, Poli.
The post I was replying to had no content, except a jab about supposedly kowtowing too much to Muslims. It's so far removed from the actual topic of either the thread or my post, I don't see how else one can respond. You hate Muslims. You think Democrats are too soft on Muslims. What is there to talk about? It had nothing to do with the topic at hand.
I don’t hate Muslims. I find the religion of Islam to be abhorrent toward women, and for thousands of years it’s been used to justify colonization, conquest, oppression, and genocide.

None of which justifies your nastiness and insults toward me.

If you don’t want to receive it, simply stop dishing it out. I’ve given plenty of warning of my expectations. You control the tenor of our interactions.
colonization conquest oppression genocide. The type of Christian’s running the GOP never did any of that.
Not in quite a while, at least. I haven't claimed christians are free from criticism, not by a long shot. Just that on average, they've learned from the past and no longer engage in such behavior at scale.

And be honest - the christians running the DNC are part of that mess too.

More seriously - why do you feel it necessary to defend a religion that is actively, currently, in modern times doing such horrible things? Arabic states, which are ALL islamic, have the highest rates of forced labor and sexual slavery, they have the most oppressed women by far of any other cultural group out there, and muslims actively engaged in *literal* genocide in Nigeria.

Why do so many of the same people who say they value equality and oppose oppression close their eyes to it when it's actually happening?

The person that thinks all Muslims are a threat is upset about satirical and sarcastic use of epithets. I guess they find Mel Brooks abhorrent. My pearls have gone missing again.
I don't think they're funny at all. I don't think claims of "satire" and "sarcasm" make it acceptable behavior.

I'm calling bullshit. I've heard from a lot of right wing Yanks "Jesus is still King".
You know that's not meant as a literal leader of a government, right?
Well, obviously, it's not meant to be taken literally — it refers to any manufacturers of dairy products.

Seems to me, Christian Nationalists/Dominionists (and their enablers and sympathizers) are a much more immediate threat to US society as we know it than Islam.
If you're a man.
You can't be that unaware of what the Christian Dominionists want and advocate for?
I personally am confident that the Christian Dominionists got Trump elected.
When he first declared his candidacy I laughed. I knew that there was no way that he would get any votes from Christian voters. He was a greedy, deceitful, philandering billionaire from New York for God's sake! Running against people like Ted Cruz. No Way!
But within days the Christian were holding weekly rallies every Sunday morning. And now we know how powerful the Christian Dominionists really are.
Tom

Just for consideration... what percent of people who call themselves christians do you think dominionists constitute? What percent of people who call themselves muslims do you think are constituted by those who subscribe to some truly horrific beliefs?
Tell me you've never worked with muzzies without telling me you've never worked with muzzies.

I was a department manager for a retail outlet in the suburb of Westmead (which is a predominately Indian Muslim community) for many years. Introduced my Mum, my sister to my co-workers. None of us felt the "you must shit your pants" scariness you subscribe. In fact, most of them hate the Middle East and think it's a shit place to live. In fact, when I was working there, a Sikhi made the critical mistake of saying he wasn't a fan of cricket. His nickname became "Paki-Sikhi" but to his credit he wore it like a champ. But we all got along.

So how many muzzies do you know?
What the actual fuck is wrong with you to so casually throw around racial and ethnic epithets?
Didn't answer my question. I have worked with "Sand Niggers". I have worked with Muslims. I have worked with Muzzrats. I have worked with Burkah-Bitchtes.. I'm guessing you havn't.

Prove me wrong.

And yes, that is how they describe themselves. But largely because you want want that to be the way. But that is how people like you view scum like them.

Prove me wrong. You didn't even read what you quoted me me, did you?

Are you posting drunk? Christian Nationalists think women should be subordinate to men as their god “intended”.

I'm calling bullshit. I've heard from a lot of right wing Yanks "Jesus is still King".
You know that's not meant as a literal leader of a government, right?
Coincidentally that occurred only after that nigger kenyan muslim became President but whatever. It's been a staple statement for nearly two decades in conservative dogma. Something at least half of America subscribes to.
Why is it that the self-styled good guys opposed to racism are the ones I most frequently see using racial slurs? Why do you feel any need at all to use them here? Seriously, WTF is wrong with you that you so casually throw out such epithets?
So you are either ignorant or full of shit.
Either you're an asshole or you're unable to communicate like an adult. Stop behaving like a childish dickhead.
Let's break this up as you have;
You know that's not meant as a literal leader of a government, right?
Nope, There are people in your country with real power who believe this crap. I can educate you if you'd like.
Why is it that the self-styled good guys opposed to racism are the ones I most frequently see using racial slurs?
So you are fine with implicit racism but not explicite racism? Good to know. You also wouldn't last 5 seconds in any city in Australia. Serious;y, what is wronf with your lack of self awareness?
Either you're an asshole or you're unable to communicate like an adult. Stop behaving like a childish dickhead.
I could say this is why I don't typically engage with you, but as you have previously proudly said you are the youngest of us...

triggered much?

Interesting that was your takeback

I know that they don't advocate for women to be kept as property, denied all education, not allowed to drive or be out in public without a male escort, or be stoned for the sin of having been raped.

Motherfucker, what is wrong with you?

I have worked with and continue to work with people of middle eastern descent, from a variety of backgrounds. Many times, in many roles, continuing presently. At no point would I EVER have used such horrific language about any of them. I still don't, and I think it reflects incredibly poorly on you that you do so.

Your language is disgusting. Your insinuations doubly so. Your behavior is gross and abhorrent.

I'm not going to watch some random youtube video with no preface. I will say, however, that No you fucking don't know my tribe. So far as I can tell, you're a malicious cunt who's quite willing to invent bullshit out of thin air and think that your imagination justifies you being an unmitigated douchenozzle.
So I talk like them the way they talk where there is no cameras. Sorry if that offends you.

Don't use racist language while also being a dickhead. You clearly INTENDED to offend, don't expect me to pretend otherwise.

Want to ban contraception. Telling teens to go to college to find a husband. Stay at home and be a Mom. These are all actual things that are being advocated for in America. Anti-Semitism (as a bonus). It wasn't that long ago a woman couldn't get a mortgage. That was Christian America. These people want to turn back the clock before that change happened.

Later Tonight on Gaslight Theater:

Bystander: OH MY GAWD! That baby stroller that rolled into the street is going to be struck by a truck.
Emily Lake: It's okay, the driver isn't a Muslim.
Bystander: But the baby is going to get killed.
Emily Lake: She won't suffer from female genital mutilation. I won't allow that!

The Christian Dominionists are here in positions of power, gaining in numbers and influence. The threat of Islam is magnitudes less. Yet you ignore focus on Islam. Fascinating.

All of that is bad. But it's not as bad as literally keeping women as chattel denied education and not allowed to exist as independent entities.

The 1950s housewife is not as bad as the 2020s afghani property:

I can object to both. But if you think that the first is as bad as, or even approaching parity with, the second... I think you're blinded by your male privilege.

Regarding Christian Dominionist VP JD Vance on Vivek Ramaswamy's vile ad against Amy Acton:
article said:
Vance, when asked by BBC News if he thought the ad was appropriate, answered: "It's not really my concern."

"What is my concern is who's going to govern the next generation of American government."

He also said he was "a little bit disgusted" by members of his own party who "are whining more about that advertisement than they are about what the congressional Democrats and other Democrats want to do to the United States of America".
Ramaswamy's ad had Amy Acton's estranged Mom, who remained married to the man who fled the police on charges of raping Amy Acton as a 12 year old for much longer than she had custody of her daughter Amy Acton, said Acton was lying about her childhood.

Non-dominionist and overall asshat President Trump noted:
article said:
When asked about Ramaswamy's ad on Wednesday, Trump said: "I know nothing about it. I heard the mother went very rogue on the daughter."

He added: "It's a very unusual situation to have a mother hate a daughter that much. But I don't think that has anything to do with Vivek."
I get that Vivek and Vance aren't Muslims or transgender, but this is what the GOP is doing now. Saying a woman is lying about being raped as a child by her step parent, a child that was removed from custody from said Mother.

And the ad might just work in getting Ramaswamy over the top, and not a Muslim or Transgender to blame for it.

The Christian Dominionists are here in positions of power, gaining in numbers and influence. The threat of Islam is magnitudes less. Yet you ignore focus on Islam. Fascinating.
I don't ignore it. But I do recognize that islam is gaining power and influence as well... and that the harm it can do is massively worse.

I don't know the appropriate terminology. I might have at some point, but if so I've forgotten it. So you're going to end up with a lot more words here than is probably necessary. And you're going to suffer through things based on my real experience.

Health insurance right now is facing two serious cost risks, but they're of extremely different natures. On one hand is AI-assisted fraud and upcoding. On the other is NSA claims.

The AI issue is real, and it's a problem that's adding to costs. Providers are using AI to amplify and upcode claims, turning a low-grade infection into a sepsis code, or turning normal temporary intubation during anesthesia into ventilator dependency. They're also in some cases using AI to generate entire false claims, snipping bits of verbiage out of real claims, and recycling digital x-rays as supporting evidence. That's bad... but most of those are for small to moderate cost. They're a problem, definitely. The incidences are of higher volume, but the cost impact for each incident is smaller. Right now, they're adding on the order of $10 per member per month in excess costs. That's rising, but the best projections right now have that topping out around $25 PMPM.

The NSA issue is also real, and it's adding to costs as well. Providers are engaging in technically legal behavior that is extremely abusive in nature. They refuse to contract with insurers, and exploit loopholes in the NSA laws - predominantly anesthesiologists and supporting surgeons, with a smattering of other services mixed in. They refuse the average contracted rates offered by the insurer, and ask for payment that runs 5x to 20x normal. I recently saw one where the anesthesiologist for a routine colonoscopy rejected the usual and customary rate of $250 and wanted $35,000 for their 30 minutes of service. And the dispute process is awarding the provider's amount on average 85% of the time. The incidences are lower, but they're for much higher amounts. Right now, they're adding on the order of $80 PMPM of excess costs.

Both are bad. Both need to be addressed. Both are increasing in impact. But one has a lower overall impact, and the rate of increase is lower. The other is rarer, but of much higher impact and is increasing faster.

The overall impacts are not the same. Both are a concern, but one is a much greater and more dangerous concern than the other. And that's how I look at this.

Christian dominionists exist, yes. What they want is something I oppose, yes. But they exist throughout the world, and they control no governments. The most dramatic influence they have actually had within our lifetime is restricting abortion. That's bad, but it's something women can survive and fight back against.

Islam exists also, and what that religion wants is something I oppose. They also exist throughout the world, and they control several governments. In those governments they have stripped women of basic rights within our lifetime - no right to vote, or to be educated, or to own property, or even to leave the house without a male escort, being required to cover themselves entirely. That's an entirely different order of risk, and if it gains a foothold, it's something that women lose the ability to fight against in a meaningful way.

The risk of islam is greater. And it's growing.

You seem to want me to ignore the rabid wolf circling camp and focus on the cockroaches under the bed.

No, I want you to focus on the ravenous rats under our bed instead of the rabid wolf circling the camp across the ocean. Which, by the way, has absolutely effing nothing to do with my or your gender.
