I think most of us have fairly prosaic 'to do' lists.
Buy batteries, get milk, call the guy about the boiler, get directions to proctologist's...
Sometimes I'll kick it up with a random "write the most disgusting joke and rise to power in the chaos after it's published."
Maybe Xenu is just doing that for fun. "I'm going to warp humanity's whole skull around and conquer the species. And i need batteries..."
Just to be ridiculous, I think.

I thought so too; read it back in the 1980s/90s sometime, before I knew anything much about Scientology. What a turkey they made of the film version, though. Not Travolta's finest hour.

But then, I used to believe that God impregnated a virgin to give birth to himself so that he can walk on water and cause pigs to run off a cliff, and when he got himself killed as a political nuisance he resurrected himself 3 days later, only to disappear henceforth, and if I don't believe all of that he'll send me to a fiery torture chamber forever because he loves me.
So I guess I'm not one to talk.

The rep comment I gave you said good point, but once I clicked, I realized that you ARE one to talk. You were subject to the same manipulations and cognitive weaknesses that trap anyone in irrational belief systems. But eventually you questioned that, and like a lot of us, you probably suffered some level of confusion and/or conflict with others in your family and community for having the courage to doubt.
So yeah, you ARE one to talk!
