At what margin of electoral defeat will Trump be forced to admit defeat?

Hey All. I haven't been paying much attention to this thread. Last I saw Metaphor posted an anecdote about a military contractor that was anti-Trump that he used to try to undo polls that typically favor conservatives by military personnel. That's when I didn't bother responding because I know everyone else is just going to take that with a grain of salt. So, I missed some pages and am not going to read all what happened in the mean time because it is not worth my valuable time. I do see that Metaphor then started screaming at Jimmy for something that allegedly I did. I have no idea why this thread needs to get all dramatic but I find drama uninteresting and have better things to do. If someone wants to explain to Metaphor what is wrong with using anecdotes that's cool, but I do not think it is worth engaging. Thank you.

What do you think Trump will do that will make the transfer of power to Biden non-peaceful?
The same thing he has been doing to keep everything else from being peaceful.
DUH

Okay, so in fact you have no clue and can name no specific actions you think he will take.

Did I say that? No.

* He will incite violence
* He will deny inciting violence
* He will claim the election was rigged

That's three, Meta. I could name 300 other things he might do, but I'm not your mom and I'm not here to spoon-feed you, just showing what a disingenuous and stupid "argument" you are trying to insinuate.
Since you are unable to answer anyone else's questions, there is no exchange of ideas here. Almost like ... you don't have any.

There was little to no shadowing when Trump took office. He gad no machine in place to begin preps for the turnover at most agencies, no idea how many jobs to fill. But people kept working until a replacement showed up. I would expect his merry band of mercenaries to fire the guys who issue badges for the transition team. Doors locked, no entry
Any hindrance to any agency would be called the Dems' fault for not showing up to shadow.

Directors, real and temporary, won't want to actually face reliefs and explain the status of their fiefdom. Thry'll just walk off the jobs during November. God knows thry'll get no coverage from Trump. Think rats and pillaged ships.

Some poison penned executive orders. Because those will take time and legislation to correct, can't just write new exec orders.

Grant a pardon to Hunter, claiming it'll save Biden some time. Publicize the shit out of that.

Fire everyone in the White House. Staff, cooks, gardenrrs, florists, maids, eldctricians, the coat check girl in Kennedy's secret tunnel.

Sell every phone and computer in the building on ebay, as a memorial of the great 45 presidency.

All the shit the Repugs accused Clinton's people of doing on the way put. Cut phone lines, glue desks, destroy records, change phone numbers.

Tell every ambassador not to trust the replacements.

Trash the ladies rooms near the VP office.

Refuse to talk to anyone on Biden's staff. Just take pictures of Prez and VPrez alone in their offices, on Nov 10th, captioned "still no transition team! Disgrace!" release on 12 Dec.

While the campaign finances buses to get militia men to the inauguration.

I'm sorry, I was mistaken. It was Don2, not you.
Okay, that makes sense.

And hopefully Don2 is isn't right. I have a hard time thinking the military would support Trump, and Trump appears to how historically low support among the military relative to Republican Presidents. But Trump still has the Electoral College to manipulate via the 269+1 requirement.

Oh for krist sake! Give it a rest with your conspiracy theories!

Looks like right now he is content to tacitly promote his gun-totin' goon supporters showing up at peaceful protests and trying to incite the violence that he thinks will get him re-elected.
That, and shutting up the Office of the Director of National Intelligence so they don't keep pointing out his collusion with Russia...

I see that Twitter took down some more fake accounts that were pretending to be black people leaving the Dem party in favor of the Murderer in Chief...

The speculation about a Biden-Harris landslide is irrelevant to the real world. This election, as measured by Presidential electoral votes, will be very very close.

Here are swing states, with number of ev's and Betfair-derived chance of D victory.
06 NV 69%
16 MI 68%

20 PA 60%
04 NH 60%
10 MN 57%
10 WI 55%
29 FL 55%

15 NC 45%
11 AZ 33%
Michigan is a must-win state for the D's; NC and AZ are must-wins for the Rs, so I've colored them, leaving only five states that will actually matter in a close election. In each case Biden is favored, but only very slightly so. He will need 36 evs from {PA, NH, MN, WI, FL}. And need to defeat the army of GOP lawyers that will flood the courts in November and December.

Expect a VERY close election. And expect litigation — or worse — leaving the result unsettled for weeks after Election Day.

Thanks to Tony Brenna for this well articulated and accurate view of the current situation.

If Trump gets a second term, get ready for fascism. Prepare for the death of free speech. Be prepared for gun-laden thugs on the streets, hidden jails crammed with critics and dissidents; that is, those lucky enough to survive.
Many of the others will be ‘neutralized’ by heavily armed Trumpist no-nothings backed by police forces already infiltrated by right-wing extremists.
These are people already locked and loaded by the soulless munitions industry and corrupt NRA. These gun-carrying dummies are beneficiaries of political misuse and abuse of the second amendment providing them with military weapons.
And black and brown people beware. The knee of the Federal government is going to come down hard on your necks in a way that will make the George Floyd’s Minneapolis police murder look like nothing. What progress that’s already been made will be wiped out if Trump and his army of violent ignoramuses are in power.
All this will be the answer to the Kremlin’s prayers. With Trump and his cronies continuing, the Russians will have greedy puppets with strings that are easily pulled. With America out of the way, Putin will go after targets on his own borders and in Europe – countries too weak and discouraged to defend themselves without our support.
Meanwhile, dirty Donald, Putin’s oligarchs, and the wealthy one per cent in this country will expand their acquisition of American property and lands. At the same time, vast swaths of the world’s population will flee from raging fires, barren lands, rising oceans, and environmental devastation leading to sickness and death for millions.
What’s left globally will be the dispossessed generation, the orphans, and exiles of so-called modernity.
America was built by people who fled from authoritarianism. Yet, under Trump we are bringing it here, killing a fragile democracy that’s managed to survive only for a couple of hundred years – and was once the envy of the world.
Trump is rising in the polls and is now at the point where the slightest secret ‘hate vote’ — all those polite soccer moms who say they’d never vote for him and then do, in the heat of the voting booth — will give him an outright victory. He won’t even have to contest a loss, as he’s sure to do. He will just win.
These are some of the issues that are on the table with the coming election."

It's going to take weeks to count all of the mail in ballots in states that don't usually have a high percentage of mail in ballots, so regardless of how close the outcome is, it's going to be a mess. Anyone expecting the results near Election Day isn't being realistic.

I haven't read through all nine pages of this thread, but I think if Trump loses, he'll initially deny it in any case. If he loses by an overwhelming margin, this will be "proof" the elections was rigged. If it's won by a slim margin, this will be "proof" that the election was tampered with. If he wins, I'm sure he'll still say the election was tampered with if he again loses the popular vote and only wins that by a slim margin as well.

Deny, deny, deny.

The other side of your equation could with even more convincing evidence claim the opposite. All of the above is possible with Groping Joe in the saddle. Evidence here.........................

Trump’s popularity slips in latest Military Times poll — and more troops say they’ll vote for Biden

The latest Military Times poll shows a continued decline in active-duty service members’ views of President Donald Trump and a slight but significant preference for former Vice President Joe Biden in the upcoming November election among troops surveyed.

The results, collected before the political conventions earlier this month, appear to undercut claims from the president that his support among military members is strong thanks to big defense budget increases in recent years and promised moves to draw down troops from overseas conflict zones.

But the Military Times Polls, surveying active-duty troops in partnership with the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) at Syracuse University, have seen a steady drop in troops’ opinion of the commander in chief since his election four years ago.

In the latest results — based on 1,018 active-duty troops surveyed in late July and early August — nearly half of respondents (49.9 percent) had an unfavorable view of the president, compared to about 38 percent who had a favorable view. Questions in the poll had a margin of error of up to 2 percent.

Among all survey participants, 42 percent said they “strongly” disapprove of Trump’s time in office.

This is good news.

I assume the military skews young, like, 25 and younger. I wonder how much that would explain it?

It would explain it to a T. Many polls, including the credible Pew polling have shown that the around 60% of under 40's look at socialism as desirable.

Yeah, a similar Pew poll and the like found that around 60% of Aussies support commenting on American politics even if they know nothing about it. And 10% of those are glaring hypocrites that benefit directly from government assistance.

Don’t a lot of military folk vote by mail? So maybe it won’t matter much.

Mailed military ballots will be handled specially, and not be subject to GOP postal sabotage.

BTW, recall that many thousands of non-compliant military ballots for Florida were counted in the 2000 election. It was considered unpatriotic to enforce the letter of the law on soldiers' ballots; most of the Democratic Party went along with this without objection. (This one factor, like many others, affected enough votes to swing that election.)

Sure, although, Trump ran to the left of the standard Republican platform, which isn't necessarily particularly left, since the Republican has morphed from a conservative party to a radical, almost anarcho-capitalist right-wing party since the 70's/80's.

Most modern Democrats would have basically been standard Republicans in the early and mid parts of the 20th century.
