Biden forgets Scott Morrison's name during AUKUS

I do not know why you considered it strange that I would pay attention to a news article about the Aust. PM since I am from Australia.

As to Tim Cook he is the CEO of a (largish) US company who products i do not own nor use. Their antics really do not concern me.

It's ok. I forgive you. Now go make me a coffee.

I've stated my reason for watching US politics before. And considering the current makeup of federal ministers, my argument is even more pertinent now than ever before.

I was more concerned about whether Biden will be able to complete his term rather than conforming to your prejudices.

And I am always amazed at (despite your assertion to be only casually acquainted with US politics) how much your attitude mirrors FOX news talking points almost exactly.
Perhaps you are paying too much attention to Fox? I do not watch it myself. Life is too short.

I too was on that thread you noted. My reasons for reluctantly taking an interest in the foolishness that passes as US politics in on the public record.

And I do wonder why you wonder so much if Biden is 'doing this a lot'? Do not even middle aged Aussies forget names of people? Did this news vid wonder about Biden's competency? What got you so worried about our President's mental health? My weird was more about how you got to this question, not that news/people got a laugh out of a US President's gaff.

We just survived a near crazy man as president, so much so that some people were talking about the potential need to invoke the 25th Amendment for the first time in US history. Now that would have been crazy, trying times...did you ever express concern about us then?

It isn't Apple's antics that are at question here. It is the American Presidents' antics. Perhaps there is more context to your comment I am missing, but it came across as echoing the right wing propaganda we are hearing constantly here in the United States. And that probably explains the responses you are getting.

Try living in Texas and then in Afghanistan for a year each and then tell me with a straight face they are "not different" from each other.

The countries are different, the cunts are the same.

Allow Texas to secede and we'll find out how violent authoritarianism thrives without a wider society to keep it in check.

1000x yes! All the oil and/or heroin in the hands of the corrupt won't make either Texas or Afghanistan rich.

I am concerned about Biden's health because for better or worse (and all too often worse) what you yanks do affects Australia far too much. I still cannot believe that in a country of 320 million people you have thrown up over the last 2 elections candidates who are just so unsuited for the job.

Yes I was concerned about Trump too. Perhaps I did not express my lament on these fora but I was concerned. As I said earlier how do you manage to find such candidates? You give the voters such unsuitable candidates then complain about the ones elected.
I would not have voted for a Trump or a Clinton or a Biden if there were other better candidates. But you do not have better candidates.

Oh there is more context that is missing but fora of these types do not handle nuance well.
Since too I am a public believer that means that for too many of these fora I am automatically put into a certain pigeon hole regardless of what I may or may not say or do.

I think there has definitely been better candidates than these. Unfortunately not enough voters agreed with me.

 Yeah, nuance. ;) So maybe you could post something from time to time that shows that you are a nuanced thinker, or that your being a believer, and not your posts, that make people assume you've never peeped outside of right wing media.

Indeed. It's far more economical to get your opinions from Herald Sun columnists, or if you're really pressed for time, Facebook.

You cleverly finessed the questions "Between Trump and Clinton (or Biden), for whom would you have voted?" So ... we're left to guess. ...
Did I guess right? :)

(And, assuming you do get your news from Herald Sun or Facebook, why would you imagine you have a clue about Biden or Clinton?)

You are right about one thing. America's choice of President may have more impact on some countries than their own leadership! Does it make much difference, even to Germans, whether Germany has a center-left Chancellor or a center-right Chancellor? Contrast this with the USA which lurches into episodes of utter madness or depravity. Bush-Cheney started a multi-trillion dollar war which killed at least a million and was a major cause of the Mideast's plunge into further wars. Trump was even worse, impoverishing Iran, destroying confidence in America, and promoting Russian and Saudi misbehavior. China's trajectory toward world super-powerdom may have been inevitable anyway, but Trump certainly hastened it.

"The Herald Sun is a daily newspaper based in Melbourne, Australia, published by The Herald and Weekly Times, a subsidiary of News Corp Australia, itself a subsidiary of News Corp ... which [was?] owned and controlled by the Murdoch family." There was a big split-up of the Murdoch Propaganda Empire in 2019. Who got what? Is Herald Sun still a reliable source of fake news?

To give some more context: the reason why some of us laugh off the accusations of mental decline in Biden is because the last President was so erratic that he was actually tested for mental decline only to find out that no, he is just a sociopath. And he, being so oblivious to the way normal humans think and feel, actually bragged about acing the test.

ETA: And I don’t think it was the Democrats who called for and administered that test.

(And, assuming you do get your news from Herald Sun or Facebook, why would you imagine you have a clue about Biden or Clinton?)

It was inappropriate to levy this charge against a foreigner. Sorry.

In fact, almost any foreigner news-savvy enough to voice views on American politics is probably less ignorant than many millions of American voters! Considering that U.S. is still noted for the best universities in the world, the stupidity of the American public is truly mind-boggling.

The Guardian too is an economical way to get your opinions if so inclined.

Facebook is only useful to see how my friends, family overseas or on the other side of Australia are going.

Your apology is noted and accepted.
I am quite sure the lack pf nous in both the US/Aust populace is an even way bet.

If you guessed that I would have been annoyed/angry if i had to choose between 2 unsuitable candidates and felt that my vote was been squandered then you guessed correctly.
