Black Jogger Gunned Down In The Street

I am a grown man
Which part of my post are you waving away?
All of them. 3 idiots were trying to do citizen's arrest, which was a thing at the time.
Now I understand it's no longer a thing in Georgia which is good I guess. I am assuming rednecks actually aware of the change.

You actually believe that Arbery wasn't being attacked by a guy with a gun?

Ha ha ha...
Oh wait, you're serious.
Tom

Okay, show of hands. How many people here have been on a construction site they weren't supposed to?
For the millionth time - Arbery is dead because he attacked a guy with a gun, not because he trespassed some construction site.
Remember folks, self defense claims only exist when an armed man is attacked, not when armed men attack an unarmed man.

You actually believe that Arbery wasn't being attacked by a guy with a gun?
Yes, I think that and yes, I am serious.
Yes, that's how citizen's arrests usually looks like, well, right until the part with shooting.
Certainly in the western movies.

Hey, you have citizen's arrest thing, not me. Deal with it.

And they were convicted of a false arrest, so your continual fallback on "citizen arrest" is a red herring. He was unlawfully detained and acted in self defense.

That's also what lynchings look like.

But what we're talking about is after the part with shooting.

And no, old fiction like western movies aren't a source of reality.

False arrest, eh? Then explain to me why did they remove citizen's arrest from the book after that?

Because dumbasses didn't understand it.

A private person may arrest an offender if the offense is committed in his presence or within his immediate knowledge. If the offense is a felony and the offender is escaping or attempting to escape, a private person may arrest him upon reasonable and probable grounds of suspicion.

  1. A felony offense wasn't committed
  2. They had no immediate knowledge of a felony offense being committed (for example an occupant or owner of the construction site who witnessed the theft screaming thief!!) they just imagined it
  3. Their reasonable and probable grounds of suspicion did not meet any of the criteria required for a citizens arrest
  4. They committed a felony by brandishing a firearm when they were not under threat which would have made the citizens arrest null and void if they could have made one
This post was not intended to change Barbos' judgment. I'm just reiterating the obvious in Barnie's style [removed]

*all members raise hands*

Thanks, you can put your hands down now.

I can honestly say, "I have never been on a construction site I wasn't supposed to."
I sincerely doubt that I'm the only person who hasn't trespassed, much of anywhere. The closest I came was grabbing wood scraps from a home building site's burn pile to build a tree house.
Tom
So not only did you trespass but you also committed theft.

Nope.

Don't bother. Jistory indicates the odds are against getting a reality-driven cogent reply from that poster.

Neither.
The burn pile was by the side of the road. It was also illegal to burn trash in Marion County. Although construction crews regularly ignored the laws about that.

Especially out on the edges of the county, where I grew up. We were white folks, helping Make America Great(the first time). Laws didn't always apply the same way, although property taxes sure did.

No. Arbery is dead because a guy with a gun attacked him.

Calling any defense, escape, or flailing against someone so armed "attack", after the actual attack was already initiated, is not merely an inexpert use of the English language; rather it is an expert abuse of it.
